King of Alexandria Maple Moolah Slot Review
Braziers flicker at the foot of a torch-lit temple stair, a sphinx keeps watch beneath a great pyramid, and the whole scene glows in cool night blues and gold. King of Alexandria Maple Moolah looks like a standard Egyptian slot, but it’s built on an unusual promise. The four progressive jackpots stacked in winged gold frames beside the reels pay out on a guarantee rather than a gamble, and that shapes everything else about the game.
Neon Valley Studios built it on a 5×3 grid with 10 fixed paylines, running at 86.78% RTP with medium volatility and a hit frequency of 21.69%. Wagers run from 0.10 up to 200.00 a spin. If the temple mood appeals, Arctic Enchantress and Pineapple Pop cover similar ground in the studio’s catalogue.
Base Game & Features
Wins form on 10 fixed paylines across five reels and three rows. Lines run left to right and right to left, starting from the first and last reel respectively, so a symbol string that pays from one end pays from the other too. The total bet is always ten times the bet per line, and only the highest winning combination pays on any single line.
The wild only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4, substitutes for every symbol except the Progressive Trigger, and expands to fill its whole reel whenever it lands. That expansion is the engine of everything else the game does.
The Respin Feature
Any wild on reels 2, 3 or 4 starts a free respin, played out automatically with the expanded wild locked in place while the remaining reels spin again. From there the feature runs a simple chain:
- One or more wilds anywhere on reels 2, 3 or 4 award a single free respin
- Expanded wilds lock in place and stay locked for every subsequent respin
- A new wild landing during a respin expands, locks, and awards another respin
- Up to two additional wilds can land, for a maximum of three respins in total
- The feature ends when a respin brings no new wild
- Progressive Trigger symbols never appear during the feature
Bet and lines stay exactly as they were on the triggering spin, and all wins are paid out once the feature finishes. Because triggers are absent for the duration, the respin round is purely about stacking locked wild reels. The middle three reels can in principle all go wild together.
The both-ways paylines matter more here than they first appear. With reels 2, 3 and 4 all locked wild, every line through the middle of the grid pays from both ends at once, which is where a full chain does its heaviest lifting. The wild is available in the base game and the respin round, and nowhere else.
King of Alexandria Maple Moolah Bonus Features & Progressive Wheel
How the Wheel Triggers
Progressive Trigger symbols can appear over any symbol except the wild, and only on reels 2, 3 and 4. Collecting them grants a chance of spinning the Progressive Wheel. Only the triggers collected on the current spin count towards that chance, and the odds scale with your bet. One spin of the wheel is the limit per wager.
What the Wheel Pays
The wheel is divided into coloured segments, each tied to one of four progressive jackpots, and whichever segment lands awards its prize. The win is guaranteed: triggering the wheel always pays a jackpot, whichever tier it lands on. The rules around the prizes themselves run as follows:
- Each jackpot is a constantly accumulating prize funded by 5.30% of player wagers
- Jackpot wins are independent of the bet size
- When a pot climbs above its average win, an animation plays over its meter
- A win notifies every player worldwide and resets that jackpot
- Progressive jackpots are only available to real-money players
If the wheel and the respin trigger on the same spin, the wheel resolves first, then the respin plays out, and the wins from both are added together. That’s the only interaction between the two systems.
A word on the pot itself: the jewelled gold-and-blue urn beside the reels, with its fan of coloured wheel segments, is there for show. It doesn’t influence whether a jackpot is awarded at all. The four pots are funded by that 5.30% slice of wagers, contained within the 86.78% total return, and the server-side values are what get paid.
A few practical notes round it out. The pot values shown in the game are reviewed and increased periodically. Any jackpot win is subject to final confirmation by the casino and the software supplier, whose decision is final.
Autoplay has its own quirk. Triggering the Progressive Wheel stops the session outright, so the wheel never spins by itself in the background.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.3/10
Playing this is a lot of waiting under a very pretty night sky. The spins in between features are plain, the both-ways lines paper over that a little, and the reason anyone chooses it is the gold-framed stack on the left of the reels: a jackpot chase that, unusually, can’t come back empty.
The guarantee is the best thing here. When the wheel triggers, a jackpot of some tier lands, and that certainty is worth more than the same odds dressed up as a near-miss. The worst thing is the price of it: 86.78% is a poor return for everyone who never touches a wheel spin, and most sessions won’t.
This suits jackpot hunters who don’t mind a thin base game to get a guaranteed prize wheel, and it will leave anyone chasing a strong RTP or a stated win cap out in the cold. The sphinx keeps the treasure for those who came for it; everyone else was only ever sightseeing.
