Kingfisher Bubbles Frame Frenzy is the latest offering from Wishbone; a 5×4 grid slot with 20 fixed paylines, an RTP of 96%, and high volatility. It’s the fifth Wishbone title we’ve covered, and every one of them, from Kingfisher On Wheels to Dragon PrimeX, has been high volatility. This one doesn’t break the habit.
What makes it worth a look is the collection system. Bubbles carry cash values above the reels in both game modes, and a scatter can scoop them up at any moment. There’s a lot of kit stacked on top of that, and some of it earns its place better than the rest. Whether the whole package hangs together is the question this review sets out to answer.
Base Game & Features
The base game runs on a 5 reel, 4 row grid with 20 fixed paylines. Wins pay left to right from the leftmost reel, only the highest combination counts per line, and the total payout is the sum of all line wins on a spin.

Randomly, on any base game spin, bubbles carrying values appear above the reel apertures. Each bubble either remains or clears on the next spin. If one remains, a new bubble can merge into it and display a combined value.
Bubbles start at values from 0.20x up to 1,000x your bet, and merged bubbles can exceed that range. The catch, and the hook, is collection: if a Scatter lands on the same reel aperture as a bubble, the value is awarded. Scatter Symbols

The Bonus Feature is built around eggs. When a Scatter lands, the feature can trigger, and the eggs sitting on reels 1, 2, 4 and 5 each carry a unique enhancement. Triggering any other egg alongside the initial one, except the Golden Egg, adds 3 Bonus Spins. The Four Reel Enhancements
Each egg unlocks the enhancement tied to its reel, and they combine when triggered together:
- Reel 1, Multiplier: starts at x2, gains +1 per Special X Symbol, capped at x5. Applies to every Value Symbol, Bubble Value and Upgraded Symbol at collection.
- Reel 2, Adder: starts at 1x, adds 1x the stake per Special + Symbol, capped at 5x stake. Its value is added to each collectable symbol at collection.
- Reel 4, Upgrade: the lowest-paying symbol is auto-awarded a value on trigger, and each Special Upgrade Symbol adds value to the next lowest symbol, up to five symbols highlighted. Values persist for the feature.
- Reel 5, Respin: a hold-and-respin round. The Collect Symbol and all Value and Upgraded Symbols stick while the rest respin. Each Heart symbol adds a chance; a spin with no new sticky symbol removes one. Ends when Hearts run out or the grid fills. No paylines are active during it.
Frame Frenzy Multiplier Enhancement
Trigger the feature through the Kingfisher Frame Frenzy Scatter and you get the signature mechanic. Every position where a Fish or active Upgraded Symbol lands during the feature receives a highlighted frame. The first frame carries no multiplier; from then on, each Fish or Upgraded Symbol landing in a highlighted frame applies and increases a multiplier, starting at x2.
The multiplier climbs by 1 each time and is theoretically unlimited. Miss a frame on a spin and both frame and multiplier hold steady. At collection, everything sitting in a highlighted frame is multiplied after all other enhancements apply, then the frames and their multipliers stay put for the rest of the feature.
Feature Bubbles
Bubbles return during the feature, worth 2x to 20x your bet. They can’t merge, and they clear on the following spin. A Scatter collects all bubbles above the apertures after enhancements apply, and any bubbles present during the Respin Feature stick around until that feature completes.
Buy Feature and Win Booster
Two paid options sit in the base game. The Buy Feature instantly triggers a Bonus Feature with one or more random eggs active, at a cost of 100x stake. It plays at the current bet and isn’t available above a certain bet threshold.
The Frame Frenzy Guarantee costs an extra 25% on the total bet and guarantees every feature triggers via the Kingfisher Frame Frenzy Scatter, the only route to the multiplier frames. It doesn’t change payouts or any of the values in play. At that price, consistency is expensive, and the RTP doesn’t move either way.

Overall Rating: 7.6/10
The trade here is simple: give up meaningful payline wins in exchange for a game built entirely around collecting. A five-of-a-kind Frog pays 5x, which is thin, and Wishbone knows it, because everything of value has been moved into bubbles, Value Symbols and multiplier frames. If you don’t enjoy watching numbers accumulate above the reels, there’s very little left for you.
It suits patient players who like layered systems and will spend a session working out how the four reel enhancements stack. It doesn’t suit anyone chasing big raw symbol hits or clean, readable bonus rounds; five enhancements, respins and frames at once is genuinely hard to follow on a first trigger.
Where it’s weaker than it is strong: the bonus is over-engineered while the paytable is neglected, and the unlimited multiplier frames sit under a hard 2,500x cap that quietly deflates them. But the collection design is excellent, the base game justifies its own spins, and the 24.37% hit rate keeps the window busy. On balance, it’s worth the effort it asks of you.
