Path of Destiny Slot Review
A black marble arch crowns Path of Destiny’s temple hall, gold eaves rising on either side like rooflines, shrine niches framing a reel frame that’s beaded, carved and cornered with flourishes. The setting is Southeast Asian, the palette oxblood red on gold lattice, and it’s dressed with more care than most slots bother with. Behind the ornament, though, sits a plain machine: a 5×4 grid, 20 win lines, and a single mystery coin doing most of the interesting work.
Red Tiger run it at 95.71% RTP with a calculated maximum multiplier of 2,254x the stake, and bets from 0.10 to 50 per spin. In the studio’s catalogue, Persian Fortune and Fortune Charm work similar ground, as does Well of Wishes. What sets this one apart is what the coins are hiding.
Symbols and Pays
Wins pay when symbols match a payline pattern from either side of the reels or in the middle, so a matching run can start at the left or the right edge and still count. That both-ways rule is the one genuinely non-standard thing about the win mechanics.
A paying spin lands roughly once in eight. The rest is quiet. Stacked knot symbols fill entire reels at times, and when they do, the both-ways rule pays them from either edge. Values below are the paytable values for three, four and five of a kind:
- Ganesha mask (green face): 6.9x / 18.4x / 69x
- Knot symbol: 1.9x / 3.4x / 9.4x
- Vase: 1.9x / 3.4x / 9.4x
- Lotus: 1.9x / 3.4x / 9.4x
- A: 0.8x / 1.9x / 6.9x
- K: 0.8x / 1.9x / 6.9x
- Q: 0.4x / 0.8x / 3.4x
- J: 0.4x / 0.8x / 3.4x
- 10: 0.4x / 0.8x / 3.4x
The top of the table is steep. Five Ganesha masks pay 69x the line bet, more than seven times what five lotuses manage, so the mask is the only symbol that can build a large win on its own. Three masks are worth 6.9x on their own, which is what five Aces or Kings pay, so the symbol doesn’t need a full line to matter.
The middle tier is flat by design. Knot, vase and lotus all pay identically, and the royals sit in two pairs below them, so the only real question on any spin is whether the mask or the coins showed up. The Lucky Spins scatter pays nothing on its own. Three of them, on reels 1, 3 and 5, unlock the free spins round instead. There’s no wild symbol in the paytable.
The Ganesha Coin
Ganesha Coins are the game’s mystery symbol, and they’re on the reels in the base game rather than being held back for the bonus. When the reels stop, any coins in view spin again to expose whatever symbol they were carrying. Every coin in the same spin shows the same face, so a cluster of them becomes a single mass reveal.
There’s a second layer to it. Ganesha himself may appear at random and set the coins spinning once more, and that extra spin comes with a win guaranteed. It’s a small mercy on a paytable where the royals pay modestly, and it gives the base game a reason to keep the reels moving beyond waiting for scatters.
The coins’ range matters too. A reveal of Q, J or 10 symbols pays from the bottom tier, while a mask reveal can jump straight to the top of the table. Because every coin in view turns over together, a spin with several coins scattered across the grid can quietly assemble a five-of-a-kind nobody was expecting.
Lucky Spins
Three Lucky Spins scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 award 10 free spins. The round runs on the same grid and the same 20 lines, so nothing changes structurally. What changes is the company the coins keep.
The round’s rules, in the order they bite:
- Trigger: 3 Lucky Spins scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5
- Award: 10 free spins
- Retrigger: 2 Lucky Spins symbols on the first and last reel during the round
- Retrigger award: 5 additional free spins
- Mega Coin: a 3×3 Super Symbol that can land during the round
That retrigger condition is the quiet strength of the round. It doesn’t ask for a full scatter trio, only two symbols on the outer reels, which keeps the free spins running far longer than a three-scatter trigger usually manages. Retriggers can stack, so a round that starts at 10 can grow well past it.
The standard coins keep doing their base-game job throughout the round, and every Mega Coin that lands adds a guaranteed win on top. Between the two, a single round can stack coin reveals, retriggers and a Mega Coin into one extended sequence.
Ganesha Mega Coin
The Ganesha Mega Coin is the round’s headline resident: a Super Symbol three reels wide and three rows tall. When it lands, it breaks apart into multiple ordinary Ganesha Coins, and because all of them then reveal the same random symbol, the result is a paid win every time. No hoping for a lucky face. The reveal always counts.
On a 5×4 grid, a 3×3 block of matching symbols covers most of the middle of the screen, so when it arrives it tends to matter. With the standard coins, the outer-reel retrigger and the Mega Coin all running through the same round, nearly all of this game’s personality sits inside the free spins. The base game’s once-in-eight hit rate makes the walk there a patient one.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
Playing Path of Destiny is a lot of standing in a very beautiful temple waiting for the offerings to arrive. You’d choose it for the coins, and only for the coins: that pause between the reels stopping and every Ganesha Coin turning over at once is the whole show, and it’s a good one.
The bonus round is the generous half of the game. Two symbols on the outer reels keep it alive, and every Mega Coin hands back a guaranteed win, which is more than most mystery-symbol rounds can say.
What it can’t do is pay you between visits. Once in eight spins is lean, and below the mask there’s a long flat stretch of royals that never surprises anyone. This is one for players happy to sit through the quiet for a coin reveal that might build something, and it isn’t one for anyone who wants the base game to pull its own weight. The temple rewards patience; it just doesn’t rush to.
