Pirate’s Parrot

Pirate’s Parrot Slot Review

Pirate’s Parrot hangs its reels from a torn beige sail, lashed to a wooden yardarm with rope, a skull in a red bandana flying above and turquoise water stretching to the horizon behind the ship. It’s the sunniest pirate deck you’ll ever spin on. And that’s the trick of it, because Tom Horn Gaming has painted a cartoon over one of the smallest paytables you’re likely to meet: the symbols pay almost nothing, and every win worth having is manufactured by a single wild-multiplier mechanic bolted on top.

The game runs at 95% RTP on a 5×4 grid with medium volatility, and the paytable tops out well below what the artwork promises. It shares that shape with the studio’s 3 Pots of Aladdin and Giza’s Portals: a small feature count, one mechanic carrying the game. Here that mechanic is a wild that turns into a multiplier, and it has more range than the sail above it suggests.

Base Game & Features

Wins pay as multiples of the total bet rather than a line stake, which keeps the arithmetic simple: whatever the screen quotes is what your whole stake is multiplied by. The values are small at every tier, and there’s a single symbol at the top of the ladder with everything else sitting below it.

Here’s the top of that ladder, as the game pays it:

• Cannon, 3 of a kind – pays 1x the total bet
• Cannon, 4 of a kind – pays 2x the total bet
• Cannon, 5 of a kind – pays 4x the total bet

That’s the ceiling on symbol pays, and it’s a modest one. A five-of-a-kind on the best symbol in the game returns four times your stake. Even the top of the ladder barely covers a bonus buy or two on most games, which tells you where the real money is meant to come from here: not the symbols, but what sits on top of them.

The wild is a skull that substitutes for every symbol except the scatter. It only appears on the 1st and 5th reels – the middle three never carry one – and every time it lands it transforms into a multiplier. What that multiplier does is the game’s whole engine, and it gets its own section below.

Pirate’s Parrot Bonus Features

WILD Multiplier

Whenever a wild lands on the 1st or 5th reel, it randomly transforms into a multiplier before the win is counted. The multiplier applies to any winning way that wild forms part of, so a single skull can turn a token pay into something more respectable.

The ranges are worth keeping straight, because they’re the whole spread of the game:

• Base game wild multiplier: x1 to x5
• Free spins wild multiplier: x1 to x9
• Wilds appear on: reels 1 and 5 only
• Two wilds in one winning way: multipliers combine

That last line is the one to hold onto. When a single winning way contains two wild symbols, the total win for that way is multiplied by both values – the multiplier on the 1st reel and the multiplier on the 5th reel, applied together. A x5 paired with a x9 multiplies that way’s win by both values combined, not the 5x or 9x either wild would have contributed alone. In free spins, where both ends of the range climb, that combination is the biggest single swing the game offers.

RESPIN

The respin is the other half of the engine, and it runs as a sequence rather than a single award. Step by step:

• A winning combination lands that features a wild symbol
• The wild locks in place and keeps its multiplier
• The reels spin again, and every non-winning symbol is replaced with new ones
• Another win extends the chain; no new win ends it

So the chain only stops when a spin produces no new winning combination at all. It’s a chaining mechanic rather than a separate mode – the win grows across a single sequence rather than awarding a fresh round, and the locked wild stays exactly where it fell throughout.

Put together, the two features are really one system. The wild creates the win, the respin extends it, and the multiplier decides what it’s worth. Every meaningful payout in Pirate’s Parrot runs through that loop.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 6.3/10

Playing Pirate’s Parrot is a lot of pleasant spinning for not very much. The deck is bright, the respins keep the reels moving, and the wins arrive often enough that you never feel becalmed – they’re just small, and the respin chains mostly re-serve what you’ve already been paid. The reason to sit down at this one is the paired wilds: a x5 meeting a x9 on the same winning way is the only moment the game genuinely surprises you.

That pairing is also the best thing here, because it’s the one place where the maths does something the sunny artwork doesn’t advertise. The weakest thing is everything underneath it: a paytable that tops out at 4x for five of a kind, which leaves the multipliers multiplying very little.

This is a game for easy sessions – someone who wants a cheerful deck, a mechanic they can understand in one spin, and no illusions about chasing a headline number. Anyone after a big ceiling is on the wrong ship. But for a lazy afternoon on calm water, it’s good company.
