Rooster Run 2 Slot Review
A fluffy pink cotton-candy chick trots along a chocolate river road past gingerbread cottages and lollipop-covered hills. Rooster Run 2 hides its teeth well: underneath all that frosting is one of the sharpest cash-out decisions you’ll be asked to make, because the multiplier the bird is climbing pays you nothing at all until you choose to take it. Every platform is a fresh argument with yourself, and the game never makes it for you.
Mascot Gaming builds it, and the studio’s other titles such as Huntress vs Baba Yaga and Plinko Pop 2 cover similar experimental ground. Here the multiplier ladder runs from x1.02 on the first platform to x10000, and how much of it you see depends on which of the three risk settings you choose.
Base Game & Features
There are no reels, symbols or paylines here. You enter a bet, press BET, and the rooster starts its run along a chain of platforms, each carrying a rising multiplier that begins at x1.02 and steps up through x1.05, x1.10, x1.14 and beyond. After the bet is placed it can’t be cancelled.
The BET button is then replaced by two options: CASH OUT and NEXT STEP. Cashing out multiplies your stake by whatever multiplier the rooster has reached and credits it to your balance. Pressing NEXT STEP keeps the run alive for one more platform and one more notch of multiplier.
That’s the entire loop, and it’s a tense one. Every step is a decision, and every decision has a price.
Risk Level
Before betting, you choose a risk level from the bottom right of the bet window, and it reshapes the whole path. Fewer steps mean bigger multipliers but a shorter distance before the fall:
- Low Risk: 30 steps, maximum multiplier x21.49
- Medium Risk: 25 steps, maximum multiplier x2287.23
- High Risk: 21 steps, maximum multiplier x10000
The jump between tiers is enormous. Low Risk tops out at just over 21x, while Medium Risk multiplies that ceiling by a hundred, and High Risk goes close to five times further again. Switching between rounds is free.
So the setting is less a difficulty level and more a running choice about how far you’re willing to push before you bank. A Low Risk run is a long, gentle climb with a modest peak. A High Risk run compresses all the danger and reward into 21 platforms.
Autoplay
Autoplay removes the button-pressing but not the decision. Enabling it brings up a swipe-to-select screen where you set the platform the rooster should aim for, or you can leave the suggested target as it stands. The BET button becomes a START button, and the run then plays itself to your chosen exit point.
It can be switched off while stopped via the autoplay button, and an active cycle can be halted at any time with the stop button. Set the target too greedily and autoplay simply inherits the same risk you’d have taken manually.
Bets Table
Each round is shared, and the bets table makes that visible across several tabs:
- All Bets: every bet placed in the current round, with each player’s avatar, username, stake, cash-out multiplier and final winnings
- Top: the largest wins made in the mode over the calendar year
- My Bets: your own bet history with date, time, multiplier and winnings
The All Bets tab is the one to watch mid-round. Seeing other players cash out at x1.14 while you hold on for one more platform is part of what makes each round feel like a shared event rather than a solo spin.
Rooster Run 2 Bonus Mode
The Bonus Mode is a paid feature that guarantees its rounds end in a win, with the payout locked in one step before the point at which the rooster would otherwise have fallen. The round can’t lose, and the payout rides on how far the guarantee lands along the path. The BONUS button on the right side of the controller opens the selection screen.
Each purchase option costs 50x your bet, and the bonus rounds play automatically once bought. The three tiers mirror the base game’s risk levels:
- Easy: 9 free rounds at Low Risk, for 50x the bet
- Medium: 7 free rounds at Medium Risk, for 50x the bet
- Hard: 5 free rounds at High Risk, for 50x the bet
More rounds at lower risk, fewer at higher. The bet modifier applied to the bonus determines the final payout by multiplying it against the multipliers reached.
That makes the tier choice about shape rather than safety. An Easy buy spreads nine small guarantees across a gentle ladder. A Hard buy concentrates everything into five attempts at the steep end, leaning on the size of its landing points rather than the number of tries.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
This is the rare game where losing a run halfway up the ladder is more fun than it has any right to be, because the frosting-wrapped chick makes every failure feel like a story rather than a rebalance. What keeps you coming back is the control: the risk level, the cash-out moment and the autoplay target are all yours, so nobody else owns the outcome. The Bonus Mode is the best thing here, since paying 50x the bet to remove the falling altogether turns a nerve game into a payout ladder.
The weakness is the gaps between highlights. Medium and High runs end early and often, and the base loop offers nothing to soften that, so long stretches can pass without a single banked win worth the name.
It’s a game for players who enjoy the pressure of deciding, and there’s more going on under the candy than the pastel hills let on. Anyone who wants to sit back and watch reels turn will go hungry in this sweet-shop; anyone who likes holding their nerve one platform longer will feel right at home beside the chocolate river.
