Sacred Riches Slot Review
Sunlight breaks through the haze over a jungle canyon, and a golden carved-stone facade frames the reels. Kalamba Games have gone full lost-civilisation with Sacred Riches, and the painting is the least of what’s on offer. This is a 3-reel, 3-row, 5-payline slot with a fourth reel bolted on that changes everything the base game does.
It runs at 94.32% RTP with HyperBet Level 2 active, or 94.24% on Level 1, and shares its PrizeTower ladder with Desert Scarabs PrizeTower. Think of it as a smaller, tighter cousin of Kalamba titles like Machina Megaways and Caribbean Anne 2, stripped back to a 3×3 core with one big idea attached.
The Base Game and Its Symbols
3 reels, 3 rows, 5 paylines. It’s a layout that dates back to the fruit machine era, and the payline maths is exactly what you’d expect: matching combinations across the 5 fixed lines, with only the highest combination per line counting towards the win. All 5 lines are always in play, so there’s no choosing where to bet.
Wild symbols substitute for all other symbols on reels 1, 2 and 3, doing their usual job of completing near-miss lines. During Free Spins, pays are based on the bet of the initiating game. There’s nothing exotic about the symbol set itself; the interest lives one reel to the right.
That’s the honest shape of the base game. It’s small, fast, and exists mostly to feed the Super Reel, which is where every interesting decision in Sacred Riches actually happens.
The Super Reel
The Super Reel is a special fourth reel, and it carries just two things: multipliers and the Bonus symbol. It spins alongside the other 3, with a frame marking its middle position. Whatever stops inside that frame decides what kind of spin you just had.
A multiplier stopping there is applied to the outcome of the paylines on reels 1, 2 and 3. A line win can therefore be boosted several times over without a single special symbol on the main grid. Multipliers outside the frame do nothing; only the framed position counts, which is what gives every fourth-reel stop its tension. The Bonus symbol stopping there instead opens the Respin Bonus.
It’s a simple piece of design with real consequences. Every spin carries 2 questions at once: did the 3 reels line up, and did the fourth reel make it matter?
HyperBet and the Multiplier Set
HyperBet is the bet-boosting system, and it comes in 2 levels. Activating it doesn’t change the reels or the paylines; it changes what the Super Reel carries, swapping the multiplier set and the odds of the Bonus symbol appearing. Kalamba pitch it as the route to hunting the x200 multiplier.
- HyperBet Level 1: the Super Reel carries the Bonus symbol and 6 multipliers: 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 8x and 20x the bet
- HyperBet Level 2: the Super Reel carries the Bonus symbol and 5 multipliers: 5x, 10x, 15x, 30x and 200x the bet
Level 2 removes the small multipliers entirely, so every framed multiplier is worth at least 5x the payline outcome, and the top multiplier rises from 20x to 200x. The RTP difference between the 2 levels is a sliver: 94.24% against 94.32%.
Neither figure is generous by modern standards, and Level 2 is the one the game nudges you towards.
The Respin Bonus and PrizeTower
Land the Bonus symbol inside the Super Reel frame and the Respin Bonus begins. The reels are reimagined as 9 individual positions, and only 2 things can appear on them: Hold and Win symbols and blanks. Hold and Win symbols appear nowhere else in the game.
The round starts with a single Hold and Win symbol locked in the centre position, and an initial respin is awarded. Any new Hold and Win symbol that lands locks in place for the rest of the feature and awards another respin. That cycle holds until every position is filled or the respins run out.
The objective is simple: fill all 9 positions to win the top prize of the PrizeTower, displayed above the reels. Between 3 and 8 Hold and Win symbols at the end pay the PrizeTower reward matching that count. The possible PrizeTower prizes, identical on both HyperBet levels:
- 3 symbols: 5x the bet
- 4 symbols: 10x the bet
- 5 symbols: 20x the bet
- 6 symbols: 30x the bet
- 7 symbols: 50x the bet
- 8 symbols: 100x the bet
- 9 symbols: 500x the bet
Each Hold and Win symbol also carries its own reward value. On HyperBet Level 1 those values run from 0.2x up to 5x the bet; on Level 2 they run from 0.05x up to 1.25x. At the end of the round, the total value of every Hold and Win symbol collected is paid out, with any PrizeTower prize added on top.
The 2 HyperBet levels price the ladder differently, then. Level 2 trades smaller per-symbol values for the fatter Super Reel multipliers that can hit outside the bonus, while the PrizeTower thresholds stay fixed. A full board of 9 symbols is worth 500x from the tower plus the sum of 9 symbol values on either level.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.9/10
Sacred Riches is a small game with one good idea, and it rests everything on that idea. The 3×3 core is charming in a retro way but doesn’t do much on its own; wins are modest and the rhythm is quick, quiet and repetitive. Everything of consequence happens on the fourth reel, where a framed multiplier or a Bonus symbol turns an ordinary spin into something else.
The Respin Bonus is the best thing here. The respin-until-you-stop structure gives every landing symbol a real consequence, and the PrizeTower gives the round a clear target worth chasing: 9 positions, 500x, and a ladder that pays something even when you fall short. The weakness is the arithmetic underneath it. A 500x tower prize isn’t a ceiling that will pull anyone away from bigger games, and no volatility rating is stated anywhere.
For fans of compact three-reelers who want a feature with actual decisions attached, this is an easy game to like. The four-figure-ceiling crowd will find more of what they’re after elsewhere in Kalamba’s catalogue. The setting is pretty, the riches are modest, and the Super Reel is the reason to visit.
