Show Me The Honey Slot Review
A wooden beehive dangles at the top of the screen, tiny bees circling it against a blue sky, and the reels sit in a frame of honey-coloured timber sprigged with pink and white blossoms. Show Me The Honey spends a lot of its charm budget on that storybook meadow, but SpinOn have also packed the reels with random modifiers that match the busy little world the artwork promises, all feeding towards a pick-and-match bonus called the TruPick Feature.
Underneath the meadow it’s a high volatility maths model: 94% RTP, a 5×3 grid, 20 paylines and a maximum win of 10,000x the total bet. That’s a serious target for a game that looks like a children’s book, and it puts Show Me The Honey in the company of SpinOn’s Hoggin’ Gold and Cereal Thrillers, with Zappin’ Zeus for something louder.
Base Game & Features
Twenty numbered winlines run left to right across the five reels, and only the highest winning combination on each line pays. Wins land on roughly 27.57% of spins, which for a high volatility game is a fairly regular drip feed. The size of those wins is another matter.
That combination of figures sets the rhythm of a session. Better than one spin in four returns something, so the reels aren’t silent for long stretches, but with the paytable weighted as it is, a lot of those returns will be small change against the total stake. It’s a profile built for patience.
Stakes run from 0.20 to 25 per spin. That’s a narrow band by modern standards, and it shapes what the ceiling means in practice: 10,000x is the biggest payout on offer, and it counts for most at the top bet of 25. Play at the minimum and the same multiplier works out far lower in cash terms.
The wild substitutes for every symbol except the Trupick Bonus symbol, and it’s far from the only help the base game gets. According to the supplier’s game sheet, a Random Modifier Wheel can be activated at any time during the base game, and it’s the source of most of the action between bonuses.
- Honeycomb Wilds (Random Expanded Wild Reels): while the reels are spinning, up to 5 Honeycomb Wilds may be awarded at random. These are full-reel wilds that can create or enhance winning combinations.
- Wild Swarm (Random Wilds): a swarm of bees flies across the reels “splatting” wilds onto random positions. The swarm may fly across more than once, each pass potentially adding more wilds before the reels stop and pay.
- Total Bet Multiplier: the wheel can land on a multiplier value that is multiplied by the total bet and paid straight into the balance. The base game wheel multipliers are 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x and 50x.
- TruPick Feature: the wheel can also award the TruPick Bonus directly, without any scatters landing.
The game rules add a note that the odds of winning a particular prize during the wheel spin are not necessarily the odds shown, which is worth bearing in mind when the wheel is on screen.
The paytable keeps things simple: the wild at the top, four themed symbols, then a royal run that pays as one group, with the bee joining the letters at the bottom. All values are multiples of the total bet:
- Wild: 15x, 30x, 50x for three, four, five
- Show Me The Honey logo: 2x, 5x, 10x
- Bear: 1.5x, 3x, 8x
- Paw print: 1x, 2x, 6x
- Honey pot: 0.5x, 1x, 4x
- A, K, Q, J and the Bee: 0.1x, 0.5x, 2x
Two things stand out about the shape of that ladder. The themed symbols are tightly clustered, so a premium five-of-a-kind doesn’t pull dramatically clear of the tier beneath it, and the royals are barely distinguishable from the bee. That’s exactly why the wild-adding modifiers matter: full-reel Honeycomb Wilds and a Wild Swarm are what turn those modest lines into something worth watching.
The bee is the tell on where the money sits. It’s the game’s mascot, front and centre of the artwork, yet as a symbol it’s paid exactly like a Jack. SpinOn have drawn a character and priced it as a card symbol, while giving the bees their real work in the Wild Swarm and the TruPick Bonus.
Show Me The Honey Trupick Bonus
There are two ways into the Trupick Bonus. The first is landing 3 Trupick Bonus scatter symbols anywhere on reels one, three and five respectively. The second is the Random Modifier Wheel, which can award the TruPick Feature directly during the base game.
There’s also a safety net for near misses. The Rewind Feature may be awarded at random at the end of any spin where 2 Trupick Bonus symbols have landed on reels one and three. Only the fifth reel rewinds, for a chance to reveal a Trupick Bonus symbol; if it lands, the Trupick Bonus is triggered.
The scatter still carries a small piece of suspense, in that it’s the one symbol the wild won’t stand in for. A wild can complete any paying line, but it can do nothing about a scatter sitting one reel short of the trigger, which is where the Rewind comes in.
Inside the bonus, the player is presented with 8 Bees and 8 Honey Pots and must try to match each Bee with its associated Honey Pot. Each outcome is determined at the time of selection. Every successful match moves the player one position up a ladder, while a non-match doesn’t advance. The bonus ends when all 8 selections have been made, and matching all 8 awards a prize multiplier of 10,000x the total bet. The multipliers available in the TruPick Bonus are 10x, 20x, 30x, 50x, 75x, 100x, 1,000x and 10,000x, and if the bonus ends without any matches, a guaranteed prize of 10x the total bet is awarded.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Show Me The Honey is a pleasant walk through a meadow with plenty going on along the way. The reels keep ticking, the modifier wheel can drop full-reel wilds, a bee swarm or a straight total bet multiplier into any base game spin, and the TruPick Bonus can arrive from scatters, from the wheel, or from a rewound fifth reel.
Its strength is a clear structure: twenty lines, a paytable you learn in a glance, several random modifiers to lift it, and a pick-and-match bonus with a 10,000x top prize and a 10x floor. Its weakness is the 94% RTP, which quietly taxes every one of those patient spins. Combined with a clustered paytable, the base game leans heavily on the modifiers to feel rewarding.
For players who like colourful, cosy slots with a variety of bonuses and a big ceiling to chase, this is a comfortable home. Anyone wanting a higher RTP or a wider bet range may look elsewhere. The bears, though, are perfectly content to wait by the hive.
