Skyline Fortunes Slot Review
Skyline Fortunes from Stakelogic puts you in the shoes of the Blue Collar man, or rather, the Blue Collar Gorilla.
Meet the enthusiastic and hardworking Big Bruno, the gorilla determined to get to work and get the job done. He’s a capable and multi-skilled worker with a licence to operate a crane and the ability to lift, stack and ‘build towards big wins’.
It’s an eye-catching theme from Stakelogic – it’s certainly not generic like many other slot themes, which are often repetitive and frankly, uninspiring. It reminds us loosely of 4ThePlayer’s 9K Kong in Vegas, though 4ThePlayer’s simian star was out on the town, not grinding a 9-5.
Stakelogic have rated this one as 5-star volatility, with a 6,000x max win and an RTP of 95.93%. Stats may suggest that it’s perfectly average, but will Stakelogic’s employee of the month make their game more than average?

Base Game & Features
Skyline Fortunes is a slot that uses Pay Ways mechanics instead of traditional paylines. It begins on a 5-reel, 4 row grid offering 1,024 ways to win from the start. As the reels expand, the grid can grow up to 5×8, unlocking a maximum of 32,768 ways to win.
To form a win, players must land matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right.
The paytable isn’t quite reflective of its potential, with 0.05x the bet awarded for 3 of the highest-paying symbols. Players looking at this might think it underwhelming, but keep in mind features like the Multiplier Feature, which significantly bolsters potential.

Multiplier Feature
High paying symbols may land with a multiplier. Each multiplier only applies to the win that includes a symbol landed with the multiplier.
The Possible Multiplier values are: x2, x5, x10, x25, x50, x75, x100.

Crane Feature
When a winning combination is formed, the winning symbols are cleared from the reels.
The remaining symbols tumble down to fill the empty spaces, and new symbols drop in from above, potentially creating additional wins.
If another win occurs, the process continues, allowing for multiple consecutive wins from a single spin.
Once the grid has refilled, a crane swings into action and attempts to drop a new row of crates, matching the number of crates in the current top row. This drop can result in one of three outcomes:
- Slightly off to the left: A crate misses the grid and falls, breaking on impact.
- Perfectly aligned: The entire row lands successfully, expanding the reel height.
- Slightly off to the right: A crate misses the grid and falls, breaking.
If another win occurs after this, the cycle repeats, triggering another cascade followed by another crane drop.
The reels can expand up to a maximum size of 5×8, increasing the number of ways to win to 32,768. Once this limit is reached, no further crate drops will occur.
Monkey Feature
If a crate falls off either side of the grid, the Monkey Feature may activate. When triggered, Big Bruno jumps down and throws the fallen crate back in the opposite direction, allowing it to land successfully and expand the reels.
For example:
- If a crate falls to the left, Big Bruno throws it back to the right.
- If a crate falls to the right, Big Bruno throws it back to the left.
This feature can help turn a failed crate drop into a reel expansion, offering another opportunity to land a win.
Skyline Fortunes Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Bonus symbols awards 12, 15, or 20 Free Spins, respectively.
During Free Spins, the expanded reel height remains in place and does not reset between spins, and multipliers from winning combinations are collected and added to a global multiplier, which increases progessively and applies to all following wins during the feature.
Free Spins can be triggered. 3 Bonus symbols award 3 additional Free Spins, 4 Bonus symbols award 4 additional Free Spins and 5 Bonus symbols award 5 additional Free Spins.

Super Stake
The Super Stake Feature has proven to be popular in previous Stakelogic Games, though we’ve criticised it in the past for being costly.
The Super Stake cost in this one isn’t too bad, costing 50% of your stake to double your chances of triggering Free Spins.
It’s worth noting that while it increases your stake, it does not increase the pay table, so payouts are the same. In Stakelogic slots, the RTP is usually the same whether Super Stake is toggled or not.
Bonus Buy
Those within jurisdictions that allow it may buy the bonus for Skyline Fortunes.
The cost of this is 100x the bet.
Our Honest Verdict
Skyline Fortunes stood out as quite innovative to us. It’s not your bog standard game in theme or function, nor is it boring, incapable or without personality.
Its a ways slot, so its potential comes from as many symbols as possible, which means growing the reels as much as possible. The Symbols held on the crane reminded us a little bit of a megaways slot top tracker, though it can miss if it drops the symbols off the wrong side. We found it to be a little janky – there is a lot of swinging around and it’s hard to tell if symbols will land flush, or fall off either side.
We suppose that’s intentional and a part of what makes it suspensful, but we still praise it as a cool feature to grow reel height, even if it is hard seeing potential winnings crash into the ground.
Though it’s unique in some regards, it’s perfectly standard in others, with staple features like multipliers and progressive multipliers in Free Spins to carry it’s potential. It feels good, not average, but not excellent either.
The best way to describe it would be reliable. It’s a slot that you go to if you want something of medium volatility, which we think it is despite Stakelogic’s 5 star volatility claim. It has a fairly standard max win of 6,000x the bet, and a slightly below average though perfectly acceptable 95.93% RTP.
If you’re trying out Skyline Fortunes, then you can expect some quirkiness, but nothing that changes the game. A decently commendable release from Stakelogic. This is available on casino sites in the UK and abroad from 19/06/2025.
