Stellarcade Power Combo Slot Review
Three ringed planets hang over a retro arcade cabinet, each dome half-filled with crystals in pink, blue and green, while hyperspace rays streak through the starfield behind the reels. It’s a dense piece of artwork, and Stellarcade Power Combo does something with it that most neon space slots don’t: the decoration sits on top of a progression system that genuinely changes what a bonus round looks like.
Just For The Win Studios built this one around a meter that grows across three separate features, so the tenth bonus looks nothing like the first. The specs are conventional: a 6×4 grid with 4,096 Ways, 96.00% RTP, high volatility, and stakes from 0.20 to 40.00. The ceiling is the MEGA fixed prize at 5,000x the bet, payable once per round, and the family’s earlier entries stopped at exactly the same figure.
Base Game & Features
Wins pay when matching symbols land on adjacent reels from the left, in any position. It’s a standard Ways setup: only the highest win per Way counts, and simultaneous wins on different Ways add together. Wilds appear on every reel except the first and substitute for everything except money symbols, tokens and Collect symbols.
The base game’s real job is feeding two systems at once. Bonus tokens land on all reels, and every one carries a chance of triggering Bonus Spins. Progression tokens land on reels two to five, and each one bumps a shared meter by a single step for one of the three features, chosen at random.
Only one progression token can land per spin, and the meters don’t move during Bonus Spins. Money symbols carry the cash side of the game. They land on reels one to five in the base game and pay nothing on their own.
The Collect symbol exists only on reel six. When it lands, every money symbol on screen pays its value into one sum. The possible values and fixed prizes:
- Money symbol values: 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x and 10x the current bet
- MINI: 15x the current bet
- MINOR: 40x the current bet
- MAJOR: 200x the current bet
- MEGA: 5,000x the current bet, awarded at most once per game round
The gold plaque ladder down the left of the cabinet displays those four fixed tiers, widest at the top. The ladder is top-heavy: three of the four prizes pay 200x or less, and the MEGA at the top can only arrive once in a round.
A 5,000x prize on a high-volatility Ways game is a serious number, but it’s a single door, not a range. Everything below it is modest.
One design note before the bonus section: the collection pots drawn around the reels are decoration. A game that displays accumulating tokens it doesn’t count is telling you the real meter is the one on the progression display.
Bonus Spins and the Power Combo Features
Bonus Spins always starts with 10 spins. If two different Bonus tokens land together and trigger the round, both of their features run at once. Three different tokens, and all three run together, which is the full Power Combo the series is named for.
Inside the round, a Bonus token for a feature that isn’t active yet can switch it on, and triggering a second or third feature awards +3 spins. A token for a feature already running can also award +3 spins. At most one new feature activates per spin.
Which features are active, and at what level, depends entirely on the progression meter built up in the base game. Each of the three has four levels, and the game starts every session at level one.
Giant Reels
The reel area grows, and the Ways count grows with it. At higher levels this is the feature that turns a 4,096 Ways game into something far bigger:
- Level 1: 6×5 grid, 15,625 Ways
- Level 2: 6×6 grid, 46,656 Ways
- Level 3: 6×7 grid, 117,649 Ways
- Level 4: 6×8 grid, 262,144 Ways
Stack Collect
Collect symbols arrive stacked during Bonus Spins, and the stack height is the level. When multiple Collects land, all money symbols on that spin pay their summed values once per Collect symbol. A full screen of cash paying out five times over is what level four is for.
Cash Reels
On each spin, randomly selected reels from two to five contain only money symbols. The level decides how many: one reel at level one, up to all four at level four. Stacked Collects plus four cash reels running together is the combination the whole meter is built towards.
Diamond Menu: Coin Burst and Buy Feature
The diamond icon in the top-right corner opens a purchase menu with two halves. Coin Burst costs 15 times the current bet and runs one base game spin with a raised probability of money symbols and a Collect symbol. During that spin, only money symbol wins can be awarded. The buy options:
- Coin Burst: 15x the current bet
- 1 Stellar Choice (one random feature, random level): 30x
- 2 Stellar Choice (two random features, random levels): 70x
- 3 Stellar Choice (all three features, random levels): 150x
- Stellar Power Combo (all three features at maximum level): 400x
The returns hold up under purchase. Coin Burst runs at the same 96.00% as the base game, the Stellar Choice buys sit at 96.02% and 96.03%, and the full Stellar Power Combo at 400x returns 96.13%. Buying anything doesn’t touch the progression meter.
The menu may not be available in every version of the game. One rule does sting, and it’s worth stating plainly: when Bonus Spins ends, the meter for whatever feature triggered resets to level one. Every level earned is spent by using it.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.8/10
Stellarcade Power Combo is a slot about saving up. The base game hands out small Collect wins while the meter quietly climbs, and the reward is a bonus round whose shape depends on how long you waited. Played at level one, Bonus Spins is a modest 6×5 affair with one cash reel and a two-high Collect stack. Played at level four, it’s 262,144 Ways with four cash reels and five-stack Collects, which is a different game entirely.
The meter is the best idea here, and the reset is the cost of it. One token per spin means the full-power version sits a long way down the road, and cashing it in clears the board. The 5,000x MEGA is the only prize on the ladder with real reach, and it comes around once per round at most.
For players who like a long build and a bonus that visibly grows, this is one of the more rewarding meters around, and the buy menu prices its top option fairly at 96.13%. Anyone who wants each session to start at full strength will find the reset grinds. The stars are out there, but you have to climb for them.
