Thunder Boost Power Wheel Slot Review
A gold-rimmed wheel fills the space behind the reels, blue lightning crackling through its hub and coins heaped along its base. Thunder Boost Power Wheel pays its reels almost nothing: the best symbol combination on the grid returns 50x the stake, while the ladder standing behind it starts at 25x and climbs to a 1,000x GRAND.
That gap tells you where the game’s heart sits. The fruit is there to keep the reels moving; the ladder is the entire reason to play, and everything on the grid answers to it.
Fugaso have built this one on a 3×3 grid, and it sits in familiar company alongside Blazing Power Wheel and Striking Blitz: Running Wins 3×3. The 1,000x GRAND at the top of the ladder is the number the whole design hangs off.
Fruit, Bells and the Gold Wheel
The symbols are the old crowd. Cherries, oranges, plums, grapes, watermelons, BARs and bells fill the reels, all drawn in a glossy, neon-lit cartoon style that suits the wheel and lightning behind them. A red-and-gold 7 acts as the wild.
It substitutes for every symbol except the Bonus and Super Bonus symbols, and it’s also the richest symbol on the grid at 50x the total bet for three. Every pay in this game is a multiple of the total bet, not a line bet, which keeps the arithmetic honest. A win of three bells at a 2.00 stake pays 60.00, not some fraction worked back from a line.
Here’s the full ladder for three of a kind:
- 7 (Wild) – 50x the total bet
- Bells – 30x the total bet
- BAR – 20x the total bet
- Watermelon or Grapes – 16x the total bet
- Orange or Plum – 4x the total bet
- Cherries – 1x the total bet
It’s a top-heavy table. The wild pays half again what the bells do, and everything below the melon drops off a cliff, with cherries returning exactly your stake back.
Three-reel games live and die on this shape, and it tells you straight away where the real money sits: not in the symbol pays at all, but in the ladder above them. Even the wild’s 50x is a twentieth of the GRAND. Nothing you line up on the reels comes close to the wheel.
The pairs are worth a second look, because they double up. Two of the mid-tier fruits share a single pay row, and the two lower fruits share another, which shortens the effective symbol roster: five pay tiers across the fruit and BAR symbols, plus the wild on top.
On a 3×3 window that’s a compact economy, and it’s part of why the reels feel busy even when the pays are small. Because a melon and a bunch of grapes pay identically, there are more ways to hit the middle of the table than the symbol count alone suggests. The same goes for the orange and plum row below it.
Half the roster effectively works in pairs, which softens the thinness of the lower half. A paytable this small could feel bare; the doubling gives it just enough surface to hold the attention.
Running Wins and the Bonus Feature
Two special symbols drive everything outside the base pays, and both are locked to specific reels. The first is the Bonus Symbol, which only ever lands on reels 1 or 3. Get Bonus Symbols across three reels and the RUNNING WINS Game opens, with the Bonus Feature running inside it.
That trigger is deliberately narrow. With the symbol restricted to the outer reels, there’s no scatter-anywhere generosity here; the reels have to line up in a specific way, and the base game is mostly fruit-matching while you wait for that alignment. The wild can’t help you build it either, since it substitutes for everything except the two bonus symbols.
It’s the same patient formula Fugaso have used across their Running Wins titles, and it makes the ladder the entire point of the exercise rather than a sideshow. The reels are a doorway here, not the show.
The Boost Feature and the Jackpot Ladder
The second special is the Super Bonus Symbol, which lands only on reel 2 and fires the Boost Feature during both the main game and the Bonus Game. A single reel carrying a single trigger is a tight design.
The middle reel becomes the one to watch on every spin, since the Boost can arrive at any point rather than waiting for a bonus round. The two specials never interact directly: the Bonus Symbol can’t appear on the middle reel and the Super Bonus Symbol can’t appear on the outer ones.
So each reel position has exactly one thing to look for. The outer reels carry the Running Wins trigger, the centre reel carries the Boost. It’s an unusually clean division of labour for a three-reel layout.
Then there’s the ladder, displayed permanently beside the reels. Four rungs, all fixed multiples of the stake:
- GRAND – 1,000x the bet
- MAJOR – 150x the bet
- MINOR – 50x the bet
- MINI – 25x the bet
The values scale exactly with the stake, so a higher bet simply lifts every rung in proportion. Raise the stake from 1.00 to 1.40 and the GRAND reads 1,400.00, the MAJOR 210.00, the MINOR 70.00, the MINI 35.00. Nothing about the ladder changes except the zeroes.
The 1,000x GRAND sits at the top of the ladder, and it’s a modest one by modern standards but a clear one. You always know what a rung pays before you spin, and the ladder never drifts out of proportion with your stake.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.2/10
Spinning this one is a quiet business: fruit landing, cherries handing the stake back, the middle reel waiting on its one special symbol. The reason anybody chooses that quiet is the ladder – four rungs sitting in plain view the whole time, priced before you commit, with a 1,000x GRAND glowing at the top.
That plainness is its best quality. Every rung is a fixed multiple of the stake and never drifts out of proportion with it, so there’s no maths to take on faith. The flip side is the reels themselves: the pays top out at 50x and the Boost Feature is a trigger with very little theatre attached, so long stretches pass where the big gold wheel does most of the entertaining.
It suits players who like a simple three-reeler and want to know exactly what each rung pays before they start, and it will hold them happily. Those after layered bonus rounds or five-figure potential have better options elsewhere. For the fruit-machine faithful, the wheel’s still turning and the GRAND’s still lit.
