Treasure Mine Power Reels Slot Review
A red-bearded dwarf throws his arms up beside a heap of gold nuggets and green gems, while the reels ride through an underground mine in a gold-trimmed wagon on steel rails. Strip the cartoon away, though, and Treasure Mine Power Reels is really a game about collisions: its paytable is too thin to matter, and nearly everything a session produces comes from what happens when three chunky 2×2 wilds land on the same grid and start interfering with each other.
Red Tiger built this one on their roomy Power Reels chassis, the same format that carried Zeus Lightning Power Reels, Phoenix Fire Power Reels and Five Star Power Reels. The grid runs 7 reels by 6 rows with 30 fixed paylines, RTP sits at 95.72%, and the top prize is capped at 1,122x the stake.
Modest numbers by modern standards, but the wild combinations give the mine a personality most of that family never had.
How the Base Game Pays
Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels from the leftmost reel, across 30 numbered paylines. Stakes run from 0.1 to 50 per spin, and a hit comes in on roughly 18.58% of spins, so the base game isn’t shy about small connections. The paytable itself is a straightforward ladder, with picture symbols well ahead of the royals.
Values below are as printed on the game’s paytable screen, from three of a kind up to the full eight-reel connection:
- Tool/Glove: 0.8, 1.6, 3.2, 6.4, 12.8, 25.6
- Amulet: 0.6, 1.2, 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 19.2
- Goggles: 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16
- Lantern: 0.4, 0.8, 1.6, 3.2, 6.4, 12.8
- R: 0.3, 0.6, 1.2, 2.4, 4.8, 9.6
- K: 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8
- Q: 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 1.6, 3.2, 6.4
- J: 0.1, 0.3, 0.6, 1.2, 2.4, 4.8
- 10: 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 1.6, 3.2
Even the top symbol only reaches 25.6x on a full eight-reel line, which tells you the real money here is expected to come from the wilds rather than the paytable. The gap between a full tool line and the game’s 1,122x ceiling is wide, and the features are what bridge it.
Notice the shape of the ladder, too. Most symbols double their value at each extra reel, from three of a kind all the way to eight, so a long connection is worth exponentially more than a short one.
That rewards patience on a 7-reel grid. The fourth, fifth and sixth symbols in a line each do more work than the ones before them, and the royals go from pocket change at three of a kind to genuinely useful at the top of their range.
The premium tier tells its own story. Tool, Amulet, Goggles and Lantern all pay above every royal at every length, and the Tool/Glove symbol at 25.6x is worth eight times the same-length win on the 10.
With 30 lines crossing a 7×6 grid, those tiers stack up quickly when several lines connect at once.
Feature Wilds
Wild symbols in this game are 2×2 blocks that each carry their own behaviour. All of them substitute for every paying symbol, each type can only land once per spin, and more than one type can arrive on the same spin. When they do, they combine, and the combinations are where the game keeps its surprises.
The Three Wilds
The Miner Wild digs prizes out of the reels wherever it lands. The Diamond Wild bursts into new mini Diamond Wilds when it arrives on the same spin as the Dragon Wild.
The Dragon Wild breathes fire at the Miner Wild when the two share a spin, with results the game leaves to the moment. On their own, each is a big helping hand on a 7×6 grid.
There’s no scatter and no separate bonus symbol anywhere in the game. The wilds are the whole feature programme, which is a bold choice for a studio that usually layers several systems into one release. Everything the mine has to offer arrives through those 2×2 blocks and the ways they overlap.
Wild Combinations
Pair a Miner Wild with a Diamond Wild and the miner jumps onto the diamond to mine its prizes. Pair a Miner with the Dragon and you get the fire-breathing set piece instead. Two wilds together announce themselves with a banner naming the outcome, and three unlock everything at once:
- WILD + WILD awards either the Trail of Wilds, which threads extra wilds across the reels, or More Diamonds, which scatters additional diamond wilds through the grid
- WILD + WILD + WILD triggers All Features, firing every wild behaviour in a single spin
It’s a tidy design. The 2×2 size means each wild already covers a serious chunk of a 6-row reel, and stacking their effects on top gives even a modest spin a chance to light up.
The one limit is arithmetic: each type appears at most once per spin, so the ceiling on any single combination is fixed.
The banner outcomes are the game’s jackpot moments in miniature. A Trail of Wilds turns a single 2×2 block into a string of substitutions running across the reels, which on 30 paylines can connect several lines at once. More Diamonds floods the grid with smaller wilds from a single source.
And because any two wilds can produce either, the same pair never plays out quite the same way twice.
One quirk of the Power Reels format is worth knowing: the reel height can change from spin to spin, with some spins running a taller grid than others. The game doesn’t spell out the rule behind the expansion, so it’s best treated as part of the ride rather than something to plan around.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Most of a session here is watching a handsome mine cart trundle along on small line wins, waiting for the wheels to meet. When two or three of the 2×2 wilds finally share a spin, the tunnel lights up, and that collision is the whole reason anyone picks this over the quieter games in the Power Reels family.
At its best, the combinations are genuinely theatrical, and three distinct behaviours that overlap in named, readable ways is better design than a scatter tacked on for tradition. But there’s nothing else here. Between wild hits you’re grinding a paytable that tops out at 25.6x, and the 1,122x ceiling won’t tempt anyone chasing serious multipliers.
So it’s for players who enjoy one well-made idea and don’t need a bonus round to feel entertained, and it isn’t for anyone who counts features. Bring a modest budget and some patience, and the dwarf, the dragon and the diamonds will do the rest.
