Treasure Mine Slot Review
A dragon, a dwarf and a red gem walk into a mine, and the whole game rides on whether they bump into each other. Treasure Mine doesn’t really have features in the usual sense: it has chemistry, three character wilds that only matter when two of them share a spin, and long stretches of tidy 40-line mining between collisions. It’s a bolder structure than the cartoon cavern suggests.
Red Tiger keep the frame classic, with a 5×4 grid, 40 win lines, an RTP of 96.16% and a maximum win of 1,044x the stake, at bets from 0.1 to 50 per spin. It sits near Dragon’s Mirror and Dynamite Riches in their catalogue, with a flavour of Pirates Plenty.
How Treasure Mine Pays
All symbols pay from left to right on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel, across 40 numbered win lines. A winning line needs three or more matching symbols in a row from the left. The hit frequency sits at 17.38%, so fewer than one spin in five connects at all.
The premium symbols are mining gear rather than gemstones, which is a nice touch for a game set in a gem mine. The Hammer leads the paytable, followed by the Chest, the Goggles and the Lantern. The royals, A down to 10, fill out the lower end and account for the smaller end of the payout scale.
There’s a clear gap between the two halves of the table. Four premium symbols crowd the 3.5x to 6x range at the top, while the five royals sit between 2x and 3x for a five of a kind. Landing five of a premium symbol is the base game’s realistic ceiling, since no ordinary line comes close to what the wild pairings pay.
All values below are multiples of the total bet:
- Hammer: 0.9x for three, 2.3x for four, 6x for five
- Chest: 0.8x, 2x, 5x
- Goggles: 0.7x, 1.8x, 4.5x
- Lantern: 0.6x, 1.5x, 3.5x
- A: 0.5x, 1.2x, 3x
- K: 0.4x, 1.1x, 2.8x
- Q: 0.4x, 1x, 2.6x
- J: 0.3x, 0.9x, 2.4x
- 10: 0.3x, 0.8x, 2x
- Wild: 1x, 2.5x, 8x
The wild is the richest symbol on the reels, out-paying even the Hammer at five of a kind. Only the highest combination on each win line counts, so a line carrying both a five-of-a-kind and a smaller match pays the better one. Wins from separate lines are added together at the end of the spin.
There’s also a BONUS symbol, a labelled cart that appears on the reels under a “Ride the Rails on a Treasure Run!” banner.
Redbeard, the Dragon and the Treasure Strike Wilds
The wilds are the whole show here. There are three of them: the Redbeard Wild, a bearded dwarf miner; the Dragon Wild; and the Treasure Strike Wild, a red gem. Only one of each can land in a single spin, so no pairing can double up on itself.
Each wild also carries its own paytable entry, worth 1x, 2.5x or 8x the total bet for three, four or five of a kind. Land two different wilds together in one spin and they interact, each pairing producing its own effect. With three wilds and only one of each per spin, there are exactly three possible pairings, and the game gives each of them its own outcome.
Dragon Wild + Treasure Strike Wild
When the Dragon Wild and the Treasure Strike Wild land in the same spin, the dragon breathes fire at the treasure. The fire hits first, then the treasure multiplies, and the multiplication is what spawns the extra symbols: additional Treasure Strike Wilds appear in a rectangular block across the reels. The block shape matters on a 40-line game: a solid rectangle of wilds can complete several lines at once rather than one.
Up to 15 extra wilds can appear this way, for a total of up to 17 wilds on screen at once, which is where the game’s biggest cluster wins come from.
Redbeard Wild + Treasure Strike Wild
When the Redbeard Wild and the Treasure Strike Wild land together, Redbeard leaps onto the treasure and grabs as much as he can carry. It pays out as an instant win, a straight cash multiplier of your stake, with no reel evaluation involved. The possible prizes are:
- 6x, 8x, 10x or 12x the stake
- 15x, 16x, 18x or 20x
- 25x, 26x, 28x or 30x
- 33x, 36x, 38x or 50x
Sixteen possible values, running from 6x to 50x. The top prize of 50x the stake is paid on the spot without a single further spin. Unlike the dragon’s block of wilds, nothing here depends on where the remaining symbols land.
Dragon Wild + Redbeard Wild
The third pairing is the mystery. What the Dragon Wild and the Redbeard Wild do when they land together isn’t described anywhere, beyond the two characters sharing the screen. It’s a curious gap in an otherwise clearly laid out set of features, and it leaves the least-documented pairing as the one you have to see for yourself.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.2/10
Most of the time you’re mining, not winning: quiet spins, small line hits, lovely cavern. The reason to choose this one over a dozen other Red Tiger titles is that any spin can turn into a collision, and a collision pays in a way the paytable never hints at.
Those collisions are its real strength. Redbeard’s grab is a guaranteed 6x to 50x with no strings, and the dragon’s rectangle of wilds is the rare base-game moment that can genuinely reach for the 1,044x ceiling. The weakness is everything around them: the ordinary paytable tops out at 6x, and the dragon-and-Redbeard pairing, one of only three in the game, is left completely unexplained.
This is one for players who enjoy a patient game with an occasional fireball in it, not for anyone who wants free spins rounds and layered bonus buys. Keep the bankroll steady, let the dragon do the work, and the mine pays its keep.
