White Rabbit 2 Slot Review
Climbing trees, making up games, and letting our imagination run wild were some of our happiest moments growing up as children, whilst some of the more curious minds found bug-hunting & exploring a great source of entertainment.
Most of the time, you’d follow your parents’ rules, but there was always that one friend who would rope you into their silly ideas, most of which were pretty rule-breaking & ridiculous….say, crawling into a person-sized rabbit hole and ending up in a whimsical world filled with magic, mystery, singing flowers, & anthropomorphic creatures.
While this may seem a little on the extreme side, although if you’re a parent, you know anything’s possible, Lewis Carroll made it the topic of her 1865 children’s novel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
If you don’t fancy sticking your head in the book & catching up on 320 pages, the story of Alice in Wonderland has been recreated in movies, pantomimes, & games, which brings us to White Rabbit 2 from Big Time Gaming…
After almost a decade between this release & the original White Rabbit, we couldn’t be more excited to jump back through the rabbit hole, but will it feel all too familiar or a distant memory? White Rabbit 2 boasts 5 reels & expanding rows, with the addition of Instant Prizes and Megapots.
With a fixed RTP of 96.37% and a very high volatility rating, this game can produce wins worth up to 133,100x your bet, but will we arrive in time to see it, or are we too late to the tea party? You’d be as mad as a hatter to miss this…
Base Game & Features
White Rabbit 2 is a highly volatile 5-reel video slot with up to 248,832 ways to win. Paytable symbols create winning combinations when 3 or more land on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1, with each reel awarding 2-7 symbols throughout spins.
The game reveals up to 10 paytable symbols, consisting of 4 Gems and A, K, Q, J, 10, & 9 card ranks. When a winning combination is confirmed on the reels, a fixed payout between 0.6x and 25x your bet is awarded.
Other symbols include Wilds, Coins, Cupcakes, & Scatters. Wild symbols are available on all reels except the first, substituting for all symbols except Coins, Cupcakes, & Scatters.
Hold & Spin
When 6 or more Coin symbols appear in a base game spin, the Hold & Spin Feature triggers, awarding 3 Respins.
In this feature, each triggering Coin symbol is held in position, revealing a Cash Prize, Megapot, or Character, whilst all remaining positions spin through Blanks & Coins. If a Character symbol is revealed, one of the following outcomes is awarded:
- White Rabbit: Multiplies the value of a random Cash Prize up to x10
- Alice: Obtains the value of all Cash Prizes on the grid
- Queen: Gathers the value of all available Cash Prizes in view
- Cheshire Cat: Awards a random Cash Prize and adds it to all available Cash Prizes on the grid
- Dodo: Gathers the value of all Cash Prizes on its respective reel
- Mad Hatter: Obtains the value of a random Cash Prize on the grid
- Twins: Reveals 2 Cash Prizes of the same value
Additionally, whenever a new Coin symbol appears on the grid, the Respin Counter resets to 3. If a Cupcake symbol appears in view, it will automatically expand its respective reel by +1 row. If the entire grid is filled with symbols, the feature ends and the total value of all Coin symbols is doubled.
Megapots
During the Hold & Spin feature, in addition to Coin symbols, the grid may reveal up to 3 Progressive Megapots:
- Mini: Between 100x and 300x your bet
- Midi: Between 1,000x and 8,888x your bet
- Mega: Between 20,888x, and 88,888x your bet
Each progressive Megapot requires 3 matching icons to award its respective value during the Hold & Spin feature.
White Rabbit 2: Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode, awarding 12, 16, and 20 Free Spins, respectively.
At the start of the session, each reel will reveal 5-7 symbols, which expand by +1 for every Cupcake symbol within its corresponding reel, up to a maximum of 12 rows per reel & up to 248,832 ways to win.
Furthermore, once a reel achieves 12 rows, an additional 3-12 Free Spins is awarded. The Free Spins mode follows the same guidelines as the base game, and landing 6 or more Coin symbols will trigger the Hold & Spin Feature.
Bonus Buy
Players within eligible markets can purchase any of the following Bonus Buy options:
- Hold & Spin: Triggers the Hold & Spin Feature with 6 or more Coin symbols for 35x your bet (96%)
- Free Spins: Instant access to the Free Spins mode with 3, 4, or 5 Scatters for 100x your bet (96%)
White Rabbit 2 has a maximum win potential of 133,100x your bet. If a single mode exceeds this, the current session ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.
Our Honest Verdict
After gaining so much appreciation & fulfilment from the original White Rabbit over the last 8 years, it’s great to see Big Time Gaming revive it in a much-needed sequel with fresh features & updated mechanics, but did it have the same effect on us?
White Rabbit 2 continues to benefit from core mechanics as seen in the original, including expanding rows & diverse ways to win, whilst exploiting the Megapots Feature from Big Bucks Deluxe, in addition to a nifty Hold & Spin function.
Each of the features & mechanics pulls together to create simple yet effective gameplay, with the addition of Character symbols that build up suspense by inserting modifiers into the equation for enhanced opportunities.
In Free Spins, the standard 16,807 ways to win can expand to a whopping 248,832 with the help of Cupcake symbols. Each expansion provides a solid platform & sets the bar high for substantial payouts, with further opportunities to trigger the Hold & Spin Feature throughout spins.
Keeping the majority of aesthetics familiar with the original, Big Time Gaming has blown the lid off the maximum win potential, which generously sits at 133,100x your bet. All in all, White Rabbit 2 is the sequel we needed & the original release so rightly deserved. Kudos, Big Time Gaming!
