The Eternal Widow Base Game and Features

The Eternal Widow is a 5-reel Video Slot with 30 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€50 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. The Eternal Widow has a theoretical RTP of 96.06% and a max win cap of 5,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol goes to the Eternal Widow. This is followed by 4 Vampire symbols with Purple, Red, Blue, and Gold backgrounds. Low-paying symbols fall to the Book, Wooden Stake, Vial, and Garlic. Wilds appear on reels 2, 3, and 4, substituting for all other symbols except Scatters.

Wild Frenzy Feature

Each time a Wild symbol lands, there is a chance that the Wild Frenzy feature can trigger. Please note, that this feature cannot be triggered on a spin that triggers the Free Spins round.

Once the Wild Frenzy feature is active, Wilds that are in view will become Sticky for the duration of the Wild Frenzy feature. During this time, between 2 and 9 additional Wilds are added to the reels in random positions.

The Eternal Widow Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 8, 12, and 16 Free Spins respectively.

During Free Spins, all Widow and Wild symbols that land will be collected. When 10 Widow symbols are collected, the Widow’s Thirst feature will be awarded. Any Widow symbols collected after the 10th will count towards the next Widow’s Thirst Feature.

When 10 Wild symbols have been collected, the Bloodlust Feature will be awarded. Any Wild symbols collected after the 10th will count towards the next Bloodlust Feature. What both of these Features do is as follows.

Widow’s Thirst Feature

Once the Widow’s Thirst feature is active, it will upgrade a High-paying symbol to the next valuable symbol. Each time the Widow’s Thirst feature is triggered, an additional +1 Free Spin is awarded.

Once all upgradeable symbols have been transformed to Widow Symbols, no more Widow symbols will be collected.

Bloodlust Feature

Once the Bloodlust Feature is active, it will increase the Wild symbol Multiplier by +x1, up to a maximum of x5. Each time the Bloodlust Feature is triggered, an additional +1 Free Spin is awarded.

Once the Wild symbol Multiplier reaches x5, no more Wild symbols will be collected.

The Eternal Widow: Our Verdict

Many providers have conjured up their own vision of Vampires in many titles, and it’s interesting to see how they differ from one another, but what did we think of Just for the Win’s take on these blood-thirsty creatures of the night?

First things first, The Eternal Widow has a strong female lead. We made an educational guess as to why she is an ‘Eternal Widow’, maybe she couldn’t resist the taste of her husband’s blood and therefore drained him to the point of death. That’s our theory anyway, but we will never really know the answer to that.

Garlic, Vials, Wooden Stakes, and Ancient Books are all present and accounted for here, which are some of the very best Vampire survival tools needed to keep these bloodsuckers at bay.

The Wild Frenzy feature is a promising feature that Sticks all visible Wilds to their positions and adds up to 9 additional Wilds to other random reel positions. This feature is a great way to keep the momentum going whilst you wait for Free Spins to trigger…that’s if you can get it to come out and play.

To further compliment the game, Just for the Win has thrown in another 2 Features that are only available during Free Spins.
