Puebla Parade Slot Review 2024
Get ready to dance till your feet are sore as we celebrate Cinco De Mayo until the early hours of the morning, in Play’n GO’s latest release, Puebla Parade!
Cinco De Mayo which means ‘Fifth of May’ in Spanish, is a yearly celebration held on the 5th May, which commemorates the anniversary of Mexico’s defeat against the French Empire at the battle of Puebla in 1862. Cinco De Mayo is particularly popular in USA, which has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture.
Puebla Parade is a beautifully vibrant and very detailed slot, with a captivating background and sound effects that tie in nicely with the theme. We’ve celebrated our fair share of Spanish traditions in the past including the Mexican holiday Day of Dead which Pragmatic Play touched upon.
There is plenty going on in the theme of Puebla Parade, but what can we expect to see in terms of Gameplay? Puebla Parade is a 5 reel slot with up to 5,000x up for grabs, plus a chance to get your hands on Respins in the base game.
Grab yourselves a dance partner and let’s celebrate!
Puebla Parade Betting and Symbols
Puebla Parade has a variety of betting options for players to choose from. For those who prefer a lower stake, you can play Puebla Parade for as little as £/€0.05 per spin. For those who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Puebla Parade is the Pinata, followed by the Skull, Guitar, Taco and Salsa Dip. Low paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Nine.
Señor, Señorita and Pareja Wilds substitute for all High and Low-Paying symbols.
Puebla Parade Base Game and Features
Puebla Parade is a 5 reel slot with up to 421 fixed paylines. In order to form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbol types from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.
The fun is only just beginning and Play’n GO has thrown in a Respins feature into the base game to keep the party atmosphere flowing. More on this below.
Respins Feature
During any base game spin, landing a Señor and Señorita Wild in any position on the reels, triggers the Respins Feature, awarding 2 Respins.
Once active, both Wilds will become Sticky and begin to move across the reels. If another Wild symbol lands during this feature, the Respins counter is reset back to 2.
If both the Señor and Señorita Wilds come together, they will form a Pareja Wild. Once this happens, a Multiplier of x2 is awarded and all reel heights expand by +1, up to 7 symbols high.
Puebla Parade Free Spins
During the Respins feature, forming 3 Pareja Wilds automatically trigger the Free Spins round, awarding 8 Free Spins. The Free Spins round will only begin once the Respins feature is complete.
During the Free Spins round, all Pareja Wild Multipliers are upgraded to x3, with all Pareja Wilds moving freely around the reels.
Puebla Parade: Our Verdict
Spanish holidays and traditions are celebrated in various countries now, and so its nice to see these traditions make their way to our screens in slot form. Puebla Parade definitely gives off a party atmosphere with its vibrant background and catchy music, but in terms of excitement, it’s slightly lacking.
Play’n GO has made gameplay nice and simple, which is ideal for players who prefer an uncomplicated gaming experience, but Puebla Parade is not the best choice for players who are drawn to slots with plenty of action in and out of the base game.
The Respins feature is a much appreciated edition to the base game, but it’s not exactly a unique offering from Play’n GO, which has featured in other titles before. It’s very hard to get excited about triggering the Free Spins round considering how difficult Play’n GO has made it to actually get. There are no Scatter symbols here, so you soley rely on the Respins feature to connect 3 Pareja Wilds, but this seems almost impossible.
In terms of statistics, Puebla Parade could have been better. The RTP sits nicely at an above average of 96.20%, but is soon let down by the 5,000x maximum win capacity. If you happen to go by maximum payout when choosing a new slot, you may want to look elsewhere.
All in all, Puebla Parade is a vibrant and slightly educational instalment from Play’n GO, but it lacks any kind of thrill and excitement in our opinion.
