Esuqeleto Explosivo 3 Slot Review
Everyone’s favourite singing Skulls are back for an encore in Thunderkick’s latest release, Esqueleto Explosivo 3!
Base Game & Features
Esqueleto Explosivo 3 is a 5×5 Video Slot featuring a Cluster Pays mechanic. With multiple betting options available, this game is playable from £.€0.10 per spin, up to a maximum bet size of £.€100 per spin.
Wins occur when 5 or more matching symbols land Horizontally or Vertically adjacent to each other. This game has 6 individually-coloured Skull symbols present, with the highest-paying producing wins of 150x your bet for a winning cluster of 15+ symbols. Esqueleto Explosivo 3 has a theoretical RTP of 94.22%, a High Volatility rating, and a max win cap of 7,500x your bet.
Each time a winning cluster occurs, they are removed from the grid, creating room for new symbols to drop in from above. During a Cascade, one position is replaced with a regular Wild or Explosivo Wild.
Explosivo Wild
Explosivo Wilds can randomly land or generate during the Cascade Feature, causing an explosion within a cluster pays area. Explosivo Wilds will remove all symbols in a 3×3 area around it (excluding Wilds, Scatters, and highest-paying).
Mucho Multiplier
Appearing below the main grid is an increasing Mucho Multiplier starting at x1. Each time a Cascade occurs, the Mucho Multiplier will increase to the next available value, up to a maximum of x32 in the base game and x1,024 in Free Spins. The Mucho Multiplier will reset with the next paid spin.
Bet+
- Bonus Boost: Each spin is 2 times more likely to trigger Free Spins (1.5x your bet)
- The Enrico Show: Guarantees an Explosivo Wild on the initial drop (2x your bet)
- Bonus Boost Plus: Each spin is 5 times more likely to trigger Free Spins (3x your bet)
Bonus Buy
Where applicable, players can sing their way into Free Spins for an additional 75x your current bet.
Free Spins
Landing 3 or 4 Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 and 12 Free Spins respectively. Any additional Scatter after the 4th awards +2 Free Spins. Any accumulated Mucho Multiplier in the base game is reset.
Each new Explosivo Wild that lands in Free Spins will be added to a special meter below the main grid. Filling the meter with 3 Explosivo Wilds awards +1 Free Spin and doubles all Mucho Multiplier values. Filling the meter 5 times will discontinue the collection of Explosivo Wilds.
Landing 2, 3, or 4 Scatters will award an additional +3, +5, and +7 Free Spins respectively, plus an extra +2 Free Spins for each Scatter after the 4th.

Conclusion
The Equeleto Explosivo series is quite beloved. It’s always been a fan favourite with our viewers, and to us too. It’s no surprise why – it taps into nostalgic bliss for many of us when the symphony of explosive skulls rings in our ears, and Esqueleto Explosivo 3 sounds and looks like it sings louder and prouder than the games before it.
Thunderkick has revived its unmistakable charm in the latest instalment, and they’re looking to do its name justice by bringing about something fresh to the table. Thunderkick has switched up the mechanics by introducing a cluster pays system, making it the first in the series so far to do so. A lot has changed, its rhythmic spirit not included – and one of the biggest and most noticeable changes here is the Mucho Multiplier, which may now reach an impressive 1,024x. To contextualise this, Esqueleto Explosivo 2 had multipliers of up to 64x.
We confess ourselves disappointed with the potential. 7,500x feels a little light considering the significantly heightened multiplier. It feels like a missed opportunity truth be told.
Nevertheless, it still stands to be quite the anticipated title. Thunderkick doesn’t shy away from a good sequel, but now we just need to get a Riders of the Storm 2 and we’ll be content.
For something themed around The Day of the Dead, Esqueleto Explosivo feels very much alive. The third instalment turned out to be an enjoyable balance between old and new, even if it does leave you wanting just a little more.
