Stepping Diamonds awards wins for a matching combination of 3 symbols. However, matching 5 or more symbols in a single spin will award a payout of 50x your bet. Wilds appear on all reels, substituting for all paytable symbols. Regular symbols are removed and replaced with a matching value of the highest-paying symbol in view.
Step’n Win
After a winning combination is formed, the Steps Meter above the reels will stop on a number between 1 and 5. When a special Diamond symbol appears, it will activate the Step’n Win feature.
Once active, the value of all Diamond symbols in view will increase by the number revealed on the Steps Reel. Single Diamond symbols can only land in a single spin, meaning more than 1 Step’n Win payout from the same spin is possible.
Lock’n Spin
Landing a regular Diamond symbol will ignite the Diamond Trail. When 6 or more Diamond symbols hit, the Lock’n Spin feature is triggered.
6 Diamond symbols will start the round on a standard 5×3 grid. However, landing 7 or 8 Diamond symbols will transform the grid into a 5×4 and 5×5 grid respectively.
During this time, the Step’n Win round can be activated. The Lock’n Spin round begins with 3 Respins, while all triggering symbols lock in position. Filling the entire grid with Diamonds will reward all 5 Steps on the Meter. The Diamond symbol’s value will increase with each step.

Our Verdict
Stepping Diamonds is a far cry from the likes of Reactoonz and sadly failed to meet our expectations. The design is a little bland and the classic theme is very hit-and-miss. Diamonds shine brightly, yet Stepping Diamonds did little to dazzle us.
The in-game features and mechanics deliver a small amount of excitement, utilising 2 individual Hold & Win rounds. Still, the maximum win potential of 4,000x quickly zaps all our hopes for them. Both rounds are tricky to achieve and fail to offer many wins.
It’s rare to come across a Play’n GO title that does little to entertain us, but unfortunately, that’s where we find ourselves with Stepping Diamonds. However, if simple gameplay and a classic theme are something you naturally lean towards, you’ll find yourself right at home here.
