Illogicool Slot Review 2022

Illogicool from Elk Studios is the second ‘cool’ slot following on from Tropicool, which released in May 2021.

This time, we’re going on a sci-fi adventure like no other, and Elk Studios has explained their own slot in their own logical words…or maybe illogical, or ilogiCOOL? We’re not sure, but it blew our minds.

‘Logicality will always be questioned, therefore the levels of logic will never end to expand. Once something goes beyond illogic, it should define as most illogic. If not sufficient, then recommended term would be highly illogical. And if nothing makes sense, there is no other term than Illogicool!’

Mind blowing indeed, but is the game, its features and the potential equally as mind-blowing? Let’s find out.

Illogicool Theme

Ilogicool looks amazingly wondersome with it’s interstallar theme, but there’s an area in which Elk Studios regularly exceed in, the sound.

If there is one thing we are certain of it’s that Elk Studios are the Kings and Queens of music and sound effects. The music that plays throughout is upbeat, mysterious and plenty of fun. Sound effects are fantastic, certain symbols and buttons all have their own unique sound effect that ties in nicely with the Space theme. Like Toro 7s, when you get that beautiful big win pop up, you also get the famous rave music, so make sure you have your speakers on max volume!

Illogicool Betting and Symbols

Illogicool has a variety of betting options for players to choose from. For those who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available is £/€0.20 per spin. For those who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available here is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.

The highest paying regular symbols in Illogicool is the Male and Female who share the same pay value, this is then followed by the Spaceship, Lazer Gun and Computer. Lower paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen and Jack.

Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except Scatters and Feature symbols.

Illogicool Base Game and Features

Illogicool is a 6 reel slot with up to 46,656 Ways to win. In order to form a win you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbols from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

Illogicool features Cascading Reels. This means that each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will fall down via a Cascade, filling all the empty spaces and possibly creating even more winning combinations.

Illogicool also has a Cool Reel, which sits directly above the reels. Each time a winning combination is formed with the use of symbols from the Cool Reel, these will disappear and all symbols remaining will slide to the left, filling all the empty positions on the Cool Reel.

It wouldn’t be an Elk Studios slot without a feature or two. During the base game, you will come across some pretty hairy creatures known as Troubles, these little guys can get themselves into some ‘sticky’ situations.  In additon to this, the Cool Reel also has some unique and exciting Features and special Symbols up for grabs. More on these below.

Troubles

Trouble symbols will only activate once they drop from the Cool Reel and onto the main reels.

These adorable hairy fellas have the ability to transform symbols below them into the same type of symbol, a lot like Mystery symbols only in a much cuter design.

In addition to this, Trouble symbols can also become Sticky. Sticky Troubles can reproduce and spread to other symbols adjacent to them on the reels, where all symbols with a Sticky Trouble attached to it, will transform into the same type of symbol.

Landing Double Trouble symbols, triggers an extra spreading of Sticky Troubles.

Cool Reel Features and Symbols

Atop the reel sits a ‘Cool Reel’ which looks similar to the top tracker in Megaways games.

The cool reel has paying and feature symbols that slide from right to left, and the features within them becomes active when they drop into the main grid.

When there are winning symbols, they’ll explode which starts a chain reaction of gravity symbol drops and cool reel refills, followed by cool reel drops and possible new refills of the main grid and the cool reel.

New wins will continue the avalanche until no more symbols occur.

Illogicool Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 Bonus or Super Bonus symbols in any position on the reels, awards 10, 15, 20 and 25 Free Spins respectively.

During the Free Spins round, a Multiplier is present, starting at x1. If you happen to trigger the Super Bonus, depending on how many Super Bonus symbols you land, you will be awarded a starting Multiplier of either x5, x10, x15, x20, x25 or x30. In order to increase your Multiplier, you will need to land special Multiplier symbols.

In additon to the Features and special Symbols present in the Cool Reel, 2 additional symbols are added during the Free Spins round.

• Extra Spins – +1, +2 and +5 additional spins can be awarded if this symbol drops onto the reels.
• Win Multiplier – Increases the win Multiplier by x1, x2 or x3 if this symbol drops onto the reels.

Each Free Spin starts with a new selection of High and Low paying symbols, but the symbols displayed on the Cool Reel always remains the same. The only time the Cool Reel symbols will change is when the main reels have enough space for symbols from the Cool Reel to drop down.

Illogicool X-Iter

Elk Studios has once again included their X-iter Feature for non UK customers to make use of. The X-iter mechanics are so diverse, but unfortunately its within bonus buy territory so you won’t see it if you’re from the UK.

• Guaranteed Win – A guaranteed winning game round for 5x your bet
• Locked Wilds – A game round with at least 3 locked wilds within the first drop for 10x your bet
• Troubles – A game round with at least 2 Troubles adjacent to each other triggering the push to sticky mini troubles for 25x your bet
• Bonus Buy – A game round with 3-6 bonus symbols to trigger Free Spins for 100x your bet
• Super Bonus – A game round with 3-6 bonus symbols, of which at least 2 are super bonus symbols. Initial win multiplier is at least 10x. Costs 500x your bet

Illogicool: Our Verdict

Illogicool is a great slot with plenty of potential and a great interstellar theme.

In a way, it’s sort of like Star trek meets Tropicool who met the strange but adorable alient creatures from Cluster Slide, and we can definitely get behind it.

That being said, we can’t say that we’re completely sold on the ‘cool’ slots yet. Tropicool was another decent title, but when compared to others like the Gold series and Toro slots, it seems rather mediocre in comparison.

If you’re purely looking at potential and statistics, then Illogicool looks very good as per usual with 10,000x win potential, and a 24.90% hit frequency, but RTP doesn’t look too amazing at 95%.

Another thing we’ve noted here is how viable it might be for UK players when compared to other ELK slots before it. It’s not ELK’s fault that we can’t buy bonuses in the UK, but their previous games really were a lot less viable for UK players in the sense that you couldn’t even land the super bonus by chance, like you can with Nolimit City titles.

Looking at their games and realising that the prospect of a Super Bonus was actually impossible made the games really unattractive sometimes, but now UK players are in for a shot too, because you can actually land a Super Bonus normally!

Overall, Illogicool may not be a game changing title, but if you give it a chance we think you’ll agree that it can be rather impressive.
