Peter & Sons Slot Demos
About Peter & Sons
There is a running joke among players who spend time browsing new releases: you can spot a Peter & Sons game from the thumbnail alone. No other studio in iGaming has a visual fingerprint quite so immediately recognisable. The hand-drawn characters, richly textured worlds, animated symbols bursting with personality, and a colour palette that somehow manages to be both bold and considered at the same time. It is a look that was developed from day one and has never been compromised, even as the slot studio has grown and its ambitions have expanded.
Founded in 2019 by a small international team of enthusiasts led by Yann Bautista, with headquarters split between Yerevan, Armenia and Barcelona, Spain, Peter & Sons started with a clear philosophy: we do not just build games, we build worlds. That is not just a tagline.
Looking at almost any release in the catalogue, it becomes clear that the artwork, the characters, the mechanics, and the audio are all designed to serve a singular creative vision rather than being assembled from separate parts. The studio has brought together artists, mathematicians, and musicians who work in genuine creative collaboration rather than in isolation, and the results speak for themselves.
Growth has been deliberate rather than frantic. Joining Yggdrasil’s YG Masters programme in 2020 gave the studio access to some of the most powerful mechanics in the industry, including DoubleMax, MultiMax, and Gigablox, all of which Peter & Sons adopted and made unmistakably their own. Monster Blox, WaterBlox Gigablox, and Hammer of Gods showed what happened when the studio’s visual identity met Yggdrasil’s mechanical firepower.
Then came Barbarossa DoubleMax, the game that most serious players point to as the moment Peter & Sons announced themselves as genuine contenders. Built around a 16th-century Ottoman corsair and the cascading DoubleMax multiplier system that doubles with every consecutive win, the pirate-themed release offered a 20,000x maximum win and an unlimited multiplier during free spins. Its sequel, Barbarossa Revenge DoubleMax, arrived in October 2024 with a darker aesthetic, JumpUp and Golden Multiplier modifiers, and a raised ceiling of 30,000x.
Beyond the flagship Barbarossa series, the portfolio spans an extraordinary range of worlds. Book of Books is a gleefully self-aware take on the oversaturated book genre. Xibalba plunges players into Mayan mythology. Valkyries sweeps across Norse realms. Wild Duel reimagines the Wild West in vivid cartoon form. Robin: Nottingham Raiders retells the legend with cascading reels and a Heist Respins mechanic that stacks treasure across multiple respins. Hammer of Gods pushed a 51,000x maximum win through six reels of thunderous Norse imagery.
So far, the studio has released over 50 titles, distributes across more than 15 regulated markets in over 40 languages, and by 2025 had added partnerships with Relax Gaming’s Silver Bullet network and Light and Wonder alongside the ongoing Yggdrasil relationship. Volatility sits predominantly in the high range, RTPs average around 96%, and almost every release carries a bonus buy option.
“Peter and Sons are simply one of the best studios in the game right now, full stop. The art style is completely their own and the Barbarossa series in particular shows a team that genuinely understands how to build tension and deliver on it. Barbarossa Revenge is an absolute must-play. Outstanding studio.” Mark, Content Editor
“I could look at Peter and Sons thumbnails all day. Everything about their games just feels crafted. Barbarossa Revenge is class, Book of Books made me laugh out loud, and Hammer of Gods genuinely goes off. One of my favourite studios in the industry without question.” Jamie, Slot Streamer & Fruity Slots Founder

FAQs about Peter & Sons
-
Why does every Peter & Sons game look so distinctive?
Because it is a deliberate creative decision that the studio has protected since day one. Artists, mathematicians, and musicians work collaboratively around a shared visual philosophy rather than in isolation. The hand-drawn characters, animated symbols, and richly textured worlds are not a style that gets switched between games. It is a consistent identity that the whole team builds around. -
What is the Barbarossa series and why does it matter?
Barbarossa DoubleMax, released in 2023, became the game that genuinely put Peter & Sons on the map with serious players. Built around the DoubleMax mechanic where every cascade win doubles the multiplier, with no reset during free spins, it offered a 20,000x ceiling. Barbarossa Revenge DoubleMax followed in October 2024 with a darker visual direction, new JumpUp and Golden Multiplier modifiers, and an upgraded 30,000x maximum win. It won Best New Slot at the 2024 SlotWise Gaming Awards. -
What is the DoubleMax mechanic?
It originates from Yggdrasil’s toolbox and Peter & Sons licence it through their YG Masters partnership. Each cascade win doubles the current multiplier starting from 1x, so consecutive wins create rapidly escalating multipliers. In the base game the multiplier resets after a losing spin, but during free spins it never resets, which is where the massive win potential lives. -
Is the whole catalogue high volatility?
Predominantly yes. Peter & Sons lean heavily into high-variance gameplay across most releases, with RTPs typically around 96% and maximum wins that regularly reach five figures. Hammer of Gods tops out at 51,000x, for context. -
Who distributes Peter & Sons games?
The studio distributes through multiple aggregator partnerships including Yggdrasil’s YG Masters programme, Relax Gaming’s Silver Bullet network, and Light and Wonder, giving their content reach across regulated markets in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and North America. -
How many games have they released?
Over 50 titles, with new releases dropping regularly. The catalogue spans Norse mythology, Mayan civilisations, pirates, Wild West showdowns, horror, and plenty of territory in between, all rendered in that unmistakable hand-drawn style.
