Reel ’em In! Tournament Fishing Base Game and Features

Reel ’em In! Tournament Fishing is a 5-reel slot with 20 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€20 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.00% and a max win cap of 1,014x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Reel ’em In! Logo, followed by the Bait Hook, Net, Life Ring, and Hat. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten, and Nine. Wilds appear on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, substituting for all symbols except Scatters.

Bait Ball Feature

During the base game, the Bait Ball Feature may randomly trigger. Once active, you will be awarded 1 of 3 Bait Balls as follows.

• Bad Bait – You will not receive anything from this feature.
• Wild Bait – Between 2-8 Wilds will be randomly placed on reels 2, 3, 4, or 5. Wilds cannot be placed over Scatter symbols.
• Bonus Bait – You will be awarded 1 or 2 Scatter symbols which are placed on reels 1, 2, 4, or 5.

Fishing Log Book

On a separate tab to the left of the reel set is a Fishing Log Book. This displays the different types of Wild Fish you can catch in the game. There are a total of 26 Fish Achievements inside the Fishing Log Book.

The achievements are 2 tasks that can be completed for each of the 13 Wild Fish, as follows.

• Task 1 – Catch and keep a Wild Fish
• Task 2 – Catch and cast back a Wild Fish

The Fishing Log Book will not award any additional prizes, or have any influence on the game itself. It is solely for entertainment purposes only.

Reel ’em In! Tournament Fishing Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters across the reels during the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 8, 10, and 12 Free Spins respectively.

During Free Spins, each spin gives you the chance to catch a Wild Fish. There are 3 types of Wild Fish (small, medium, and large). These Wild Fish act as 1×3, 2×3, and 3×3 Sticky Wilds during this time.

Wild Fish

When a Wild Fish is caught, you will have the choice to keep the Wild Fish or Cast Back. Wild Fish symbols are only present on reels 2, 3, and 4.

If you choose to keep the Wild Fish, it will transform into a 1×3, 2×3, or 3×3 Sticky Wild depending on what type of Wild Fish it is. Choosing to Cast Back will award a random Cash Prize which is displayed on the screen, and all caught Wild Fish will be removed.

Please note, you cannot Cast Back on the final Free Spin, and the Free Spins round cannot be retriggered.

Reel ’em In! Tournament Fishing: Our Verdict

Fishing slots are all the rage at the moment, maybe even more so than Egyptian or Wild West slots, but did Reel ’em In! Tournament Fishing catch our attention for the right reasons?

Many Providers have dabbled in the fishing theme for their slots, but how does Reel ’em In! Tournament Fishing fair against the likes of the Big Bass or Fishin’ Frenzy series?

Reel ’em In! Tournament Fishing is a peaceful and entertaining instalment from Light & Wonder, but it doesn’t seem quite as exciting as the previous Reel ’em In! title in our opinion.

However, Reel ’em In! Tournament Fishing does have some really nice elements about it. The Bait Ball feature makes this slot stand out for many reasons and brings a certain appeal to the game that other fishing slots may not have. Will you reel in the Wild, Bonus, or Bad Bait?

The Fishing Log, although it has no relevance to gameplay, is a really nice touch that again makes Reel ’em In! Tournament Fishing stand out from other fishing titles. Light & Wonder haven’t just focused on gameplay, they’ve also thought about the fun and entertainment side of things.

Some of you may look at the 1,014x max win cap, pack up your fishing gear, and head over to another fishing slot, but you may just find you’re better off here than with other fishing games that all tend to be reminiscent of Big Bass Bonanza or Fishin’ Frenzy.
