Action Boost Max Dragon’s Cache Slot Review
A golden dragon rears up beside the reels in Action Boost Max Dragon’s Cache, wings spread over a hoard of coins and gemstones while the cave walls behind glow furnace-orange. Three overflowing pots of gold sit above the reel frame under green, red and purple banners, and it’s those pots, not the reels, where the money lives. The base game pays crumbs; everything you’re playing for collects overhead.
SpinPlay Games have built the whole bonus system around those three pots, and one spin can fill several at once. Underneath sits a 5×4 grid, 20 paylines, high volatility, a 96.49% RTP, a hit frequency of 33.58% and stakes from 0.20 to 50.00.
It runs the same maths as Action Boost Max Gilded Mines, with dwarf carts swapped for a dragon’s hoard, alongside close relations Action Boost Max Loot and Action Boost Amber Island 2. The hoard is warm, and the dragon is waiting.
Base Game & Features
This is a five-reel, four-row slot with 20 paylines in the base game, rising to 40 during the Green Coin feature. Stakes run from 0.20 to 50.00 per spin. If several winning combinations land on one line, only the highest pays, and the same applies per symbol combination.
The Dragon Eye is the wild, stacked on every reel and substituting for everything except the bonus symbols. It can also form its own winning line when it lands in a payline combination. Coins are the other symbols that matter here.
Green, red and purple Coins collect into the matching pot above the reels whenever they appear, building towards the feature round each colour controls. Fire Coins work differently, feeding the dragon itself for a shot at the Pick Feature. Neither animation affects whether anything actually triggers.
The paytable keeps things compact, with the Gold Dragon Head out in front:
- Gold Dragon Head: 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 5x for five
- Green Knight and Blue Knight: 0.25x, 0.5x, 2.5x
- Sword and Shield: 0.25x, 0.5x, 2x
- A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9: 0.1x, 0.25x, 1x
Every payout is a multiple of the initial bet, which is the total bet divided by the 20-line cost. Five dragons at the top end returns five times your line stake, so the base paytable won’t carry a session on its own. The pots do the carrying.
Action Boost Max Dragon’s Cache Free Spins & Bonus Features
Whenever one or more Coins land, there’s a chance the free spins trigger, and the colour combination collected decides which features you get. Ten spins are awarded regardless of which pot or pots fired. The bet multiplier stays the same as the triggering spin.
Gold Coins appearing during any feature round are where the value sits. Each one awards a bonus credit prize, a jackpot shield, an extra feature or an upgrade to the running feature, so a round that starts modest can end up doing several jobs at once.
Green Coin Action Boost Max
The green round is the wild show. All reels grow to six symbol positions and 40 lines are played, and any reel carrying a wild is nudged until every position on that reel is wild, with wins paid after the nudge.
Up to two Green upgrades can land, each adding more wilds to the following spins for the remainder of the round. A round that upgrades twice finishes reel after reel of wilds.
Red Coin Action Boost Max
The red round runs the jackpot ladder, built from shields collected via Gold Coins. Collect all the shields of one colour and that jackpot pays, then the count resets, so a single round can pay the same jackpot twice:
- 7 Yellow Shields: Mega jackpot
- 6 Red Shields: Maxi jackpot
- 5 Purple Shields: Major jackpot
- 4 Blue Shields: Minor jackpot
- 3 Green Shields: Mini jackpot
Up to two Red upgrades reduce the shield requirement by one each, which is a meaningful discount on the cheaper jackpots. A Mini jackpot that normally needs three shields needs just one after both upgrades.
Purple Coin Action Boost Max
The purple round is the multiplier. It starts at 2x, one upgrade takes it to 3x and a second takes it to 5x, applied to all line wins and bonus credit prizes. Gold Coins here can also award one or two extra spins rather than a prize, which keeps the round running while the multiplier climbs.
Multiple Coin Action Boost Max
Landing several coin colours on a single spin plays all the matching features at once, and this combined round is where the format peaks. The purple multiplier sits across line wins and bonus credit prizes while the green wilds and red shields run underneath it, though it never applies to jackpots.
A Gold Coin that grants a new feature or an upgrade during free spins adds two extra spins to the total. That keeps a stacked round alive long enough for the upgrades to land.
Pick Feature
Fire Coins feed the dragon instead of the pots, and they carry their own chance of a pick game. Items on the board hide credit prizes, jackpots, features, upgrades and Terminate Coins, and everything revealed is awarded on the spot. Picking ends at the third Terminate Coin.
Any Action Boost Max features uncovered in the pick don’t pay out there and then. They carry straight into free spins once the picking ends, so a lucky run can open with the pick prizes banked and a stacked feature round already waiting.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
You spend most of a session here watching three pots fill. That’s the whole point of sitting down at this particular dragon’s hoard: the coins trickle upward, and the game you came for starts when a pot tips.
The tipping is worth it. Stacked full-reel wilds on a grown six-high grid is the best single moment the format offers, and the jackpot ladder resets after paying, so one lucky round can collect twice before it ends.
What it lacks is a rival to that ladder. The jackpots are the fixed numbers in the cave, and the top of the ladder is the figure a session measures itself against.
That won’t bother patient players who enjoy watching a system build over ten spins, or jackpot hunters chasing the shield ladder; it will bother anyone who wants the reels to do the paying. For the first group, the hoard is warm and the dragon is generous once you’re inside it.
Action Boost Max Dragon’s Cache FAQs
-
How do you trigger free spins in Action Boost Max Dragon’s Cache?
Whenever one or more Coins appear there is a chance the free spins trigger. Each Coin collects into the chest of the same colour above the reels, and the combination of Coins collected determines which Action Boost Max features are awarded. Ten free spins are given regardless of the combination. -
How does the jackpot shield collection work?
In the Red Coin feature, Gold Coins can award jackpot shields. Collect 7 Yellow Shields for the Mega jackpot, 6 Red for the Maxi, 5 Purple for the Major, 4 Blue for the Minor and 3 Green for the Mini. When a jackpot is collected its shields reset, so the same jackpot can pay more than once in a round. -
What does the Green Coin feature do?
The Green Coin Action Boost Max awards 10 free spins on reels that grow to six symbol positions, with 40 paylines in play. Any reel containing a wild is nudged so the entire reel turns wild, and wins are paid after the nudge. Two upgrades are possible, each adding more wilds. -
Can more than one feature run at the same time?
Yes. If several coin colours collect on a single base spin, the free spins run with every matching Action Boost Max feature active together. A Gold Coin that awards an extra feature or an upgrade during free spins also grants 2 additional spins, and the purple multiplier applies to line wins and credit prizes but never to jackpots. -
What is the RTP of Action Boost Max Dragon’s Cache?
The RTP is 96.49%, which sits just above the typical 96% benchmark for online slots. -

Yes. The game is high volatility, with a hit frequency of 33.58%, so roughly one spin in three returns a win but payouts are weighted towards the bonus features. -
How many paylines does Action Boost Max Dragon’s Cache have?
The base game plays 20 fixed paylines, rising to 40 during the Green Coin Action Boost Max feature. Winning lines run left to right across the reels. -
What is the minimum and maximum bet on Action Boost Max Dragon’s Cache?
Stakes run from 0.20 to 50.00 per spin, and the bet multiplier during free spins stays the same as the triggering spin.
