ARRR! 10K Ways Slot Review
A skull-shaped cliff looms over a turquoise lagoon, half-dissolved in tropical haze, and the reels sit inside a carved wooden shrine strung with red paper lanterns. ARRR! 10K Ways is the rare pirate slot that pays like a pension: low volatility, a 29.5% hit rate, and a 20,000x ceiling hiding behind all the cannon smoke. Most hold-and-respin games make you bleed for the feature. This one would rather keep you comfortable and let the Kraken do the damage.
ReelPlay runs it on a 6×4 grid with an extra top reel feeding the middle columns and 10,000 ways to win, paying left to right on adjacent reels. It returns 96.1% RTP with a 29.5% hit rate, and stakes run from 0.20 to 12 per spin. Sister titles Hercules 10K Ways, King Arthur 10K Ways and Armageddon 10K Ways work the same format; this one’s the calmest of the family. The cannons, though, are loaded.
Base Game & Features
Six vertical reels of four rows carry the main game, with a horizontal top reel sitting above reels two to five and adding a symbol to whichever column it sits over. Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels only, and the highest win per combination is the one that counts. Coinciding wins are added together.
Every winning symbol is part of a reaction: it’s removed and replaced by symbols dropping from above on the main reels and sliding in from the right on the top reel. A single spin can therefore chain several wins, which is what keeps a low-volatility grid like this moving between bonus rounds.
Treasure chests only land on the vertical reels two to five in the main game, and they never form part of a standard win. They’re the scatter that matters here, and four or more of them fire the feature round. Every other symbol pays in multiples of the total bet, like this.
- Pirate Captain: 50x for six, 15x for five, 5x for four, 2.5x for three, 1x for two
- Pirate Woman: 5x for six, 2.5x for five, 1.5x for four, 0.5x for three
- Parrot: 2.5x for six, 1.5x for five, 0.75x for four, 0.25x for three
- Octopus: 2x for six, 1x for five, 0.5x for four, 0.25x for three
- Heart Coin: 1.2x for six, 0.6x for five, 0.3x for four, 0.2x for three
- Diamond Coin: 1x for six, 0.6x for five, 0.3x for four, 0.15x for three
- Spade Coin: 0.9x for six, 0.5x for five, 0.3x for four, 0.15x for three
- Club Coin: 0.7x for six, 0.5x for five, 0.25x for four, 0.15x for three
- Anchor Coin: 0.6x for six, 0.4x for five, 0.2x for four, 0.1x for three
- Skull Coin: 0.5x for six, 0.4x for five, 0.2x for four, 0.1x for three
The Wild Jolly Roger substitutes for every symbol except the treasure chest, and it never appears in an ordinary spin. It only arrives through the Cannon Wilds feature.
Cannon Wilds
At the end of any spin that produces no win at all, there’s a chance the cannons fire and the losing grid gets another shot. One to three symbols in the display are changed into Jolly Roger wilds.
Each carries a random multiplier from 1x to 5x, applied to any win combination it sits in. If more than one wild forms part of the same win, their multipliers multiply rather than add. Wilds only land on vertical reels two to five, and never onto a position holding a treasure chest.
ARRR! 10K Ways Bonus Respins
How the round works
Four or more treasure chests anywhere on reels two to five trigger the Bonus Respins, and three respins are awarded. The triggering chests reveal random multipliers between 1x and 1,000x, everything else is cleared away, and all prize symbols lock in place while the remaining positions spin again.
Treasure chests, Captains and Krakens all count as prize symbols. Whenever a new one lands it locks, and the respin counter resets to three. The round runs until the respins run out or every position on the grid holds a prize, at which point the total of all prize values is paid as a multiple of the bet.
Krakens and Captains
The two collector symbols are where the big totals come from. Each Kraken takes a value equal to the sum of all prize symbols adjacent to it when it’s processed, or 1x the bet if nothing sits next to it. Each Captain takes the total of every prize symbol on the reel set at the time of processing, again with 1x the bet as the floor.
Processing order matters: all Krakens resolve before any Captain, each in top-to-bottom then left-to-right order. A grid carrying several Captains can therefore pay its whole prize pool more than once.
If every position fills with prize symbols, the reels clear completely and the Bonus Respins retrigger from scratch. Symbol pays don’t apply during the round, and it plays at the bet of the triggering spin.
Gamble Feature
After the round, there’s an optional gamble on the total. A ladder climbs from the current multiplier through 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x, 4x and up to 5x, with each step a coin-flip style win or a drop back a level. Most rungs are a straight 1-in-2, with the 3x and 4x steps at 2-in-3 and 3-in-4 respectively.
You can collect at any time, and hitting 0x loses everything. The gamble is capped at 400,000x the base bet, which is the same ceiling the whole game runs under, and any win from the spin that triggered the respins is gambled along with the feature total.
Bonus Buy
Where jurisdictions allow it, the Bonus Respins can be bought outright. The cost is 2,000x the base bet, which works out at 100x the total stake, and the round then plays at the normal total bet. The purchased spin is guaranteed to land four treasure chests, so the feature always begins.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
You sail this lagoon at a gentle pace. Small wins arrive often, Cannon Wilds rescue a fair share of the dead spins, and the whole time you’re really just counting chests, waiting for the round the game was built around. That’s the honest shape of a session here, and on a calm day it’s pleasant company.
The respins are worth the wait, and they’re the best thing in the game by a distance. The collectors give one round real reach, and the full-grid retrigger is a genuine jackpot moment. The weakness is everything either side of it: below the premiums the paytable is small change, so between triggers nothing much builds.
It’s for players who like the hold-and-respin format without the punishment, or who fancy the treasure without the teeth. Chasers after a brutal base game and big dry spells won’t find their fight here. But if easy water and a well-built feature sound like a good afternoon, this island is worth anchoring at.
