Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel Slot Review 2024
Quickspin returns with the big bad wolf in tow who isn’t willing to rest until he’s had his 3-course meal in Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel!
After years spent with targets on their backs, and numerous house builds later, the 3 Little Pigs have come prepared with a new superior material… Steel, but will they win against the huffs and puffs of the Wolf?
Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel takes us back to the beloved and all-too-familiar farm seen in Quickspin’s Big Bad Wolf series, where an interesting turn of events is unfolding.
When the 3 little Piggies transform into Wilds, they are upgraded with fortified frames after successful Cascades, making them hold out longer on the reels despite the Wolf’s best efforts to eliminate them. The real excitement comes from landing Wolf Scatters, where up to 3 Bonus Games can be awarded.
Will the Pigs’ new steel armor hold out against the hungry big bad wolf? Let’s play on and find out!
Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel – Base Game and Features
Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel is a 5-reel Video Slot with 25 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.14% and a max win cap of 18,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Red Pig, followed by the Green Pig, Blue Pig, and Red and Green Tools. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten. Piggy Wilds substitute for all other symbols except Bonus and Moon Scatters.
Each time a winning combination forms, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels, making room for new symbols to drop down from above via a Cascade. After 2, 4, and 6 Cascades, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Piggy symbols will transform into Wilds.
Pigs of Steel Feature
Each Piggy symbol receives protection when Cascades form wins that are then removed. When 3 and 6 Piggy symbols have been removed, levels 1 and 2 of protection are awarded.
Each protected symbol loses a level of protection during a Cascade instead of being removed from play. Once a Piggy symbol loses its full protection level, it is not safe on the reels anymore and is subject to removal.

Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel – Our Verdict
The Big Bad Wolf series is a beloved series to many, and Quickspin has done it justice with their latest rendition. Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel looks and feels toned down from its Megaways predecessor at first, but as it was in the original, Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel is highly effective without the allure of 117,649 ways.
The shining feature of Quickspin’s latest title has clues in the name. The Pigs are even more savvy to the Wolfs cruel intentions, so they come ready with some extra protection. This protection keeps them on the reels for longer, and at full swing, the reels can be stacked full of wild pigs who are standing their ground.
The excitement is undeniable once more as it was with previous games, though it’s not quite as capable as the Megaways version. At 18,000x the bet the capabilities have been almost halved, yet we find it hard to mark the game down on this.
With the tools it has, Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel stands out as a highly capable, exciting and enjoyable instalment.
