Feasting Fox Base Game and Features

Feasting Fox is a 5-reel slot with 20 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.29% and a max win cap of 2,437x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Rooster, followed by the Hens in the Brown, Purple, and Green boxes, and the Rat in the Blue Box. Low-paying symbols fall to Red, Brown, Purple, Green, and Blue Eggs. Wilds substitute for all other symbols except Coop Scatters.

Nudge

During the base game, whenever a Stacked symbol is partially in view, it has the ability to nudge up or down in order to cover the entire reel. When the nudge is about to occur, fox hands will pull the stacked symbol fully into view, triggering the FOOOXX!! Feature.

FOOOXX!! Feature

Once the fox hands have nudged a reel of Stacked symbols fully into view, the FOOOXX!! feature is awarded. Once nudged into view, the entire stacked reel will transform into a Sticky Wild reel, triggering a Respin.

During the Respin, if another reel of stacked symbols is nudged fully into view, it will also transform into a Sticky Wild reel and another Respin will be awarded.

Feasting Fox Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Coop Scatters across the reels triggers the Chicken Dinner Free Spins round, awarding 10, 15, and 25 Free Spins respectively.

During Free Spins, each partially Stacked symbol will always nudge into view, triggering the FOOOXX!! feature and awarding a Respin.

Feasting Fox: Our Verdict

Is it just us or does it feel like there are a number of slots appearing with the same Fox and Hen theme recently? It wasn’t that long ago we were reviewing Stakelogic’s Greedy Fox which is due out in April, but how well did Quickspin pull off their own version?

Feasting Fox has modern graphics and a great vintage cartoon design, with simple yet sophisticated features and mechanics that are easy to understand.

The FOOOXX!! feature isn’t the most exciting feature we’ve come across, nor is it the worst, which seems to trigger frequently during the base game. This feature does well to top up your balance every now and then, but if it’s big wins you’re after, you’re going to need more than 1 Stacked Wild reel in order to hit anything substantial.

We’ve seen features similar to this in the past that offer up a random Multiplier for each stacked Wild reel. A little bit of food for thought for Quickspin in the future. The Free Spins round is usually where things go from good to great, usually with a new feature or mechanic in play during this time, but this Free Spins round has more of the FOOOXX!! feature, unfortunately.

It doesn’t get much better from here on out either, with a very disappointing max win cap of 2,437x. Gone are the days when you would see a Quickspin title offering up max win caps of 30,000x+ like Big Bad Wolf Megaways for example, but we hope that future Quickspin titles will see a figure like this again.

All in all, Feasting Fox might appeal to some, but it’s not exactly a Quickspin headliner in our opinion.
