Will Anna be able to outsmart the twisted logic of the Inferno? Let’s play on and find out!
Book of Inferno Base Game and Features
Book of Inferno is a 5 reel slot with 10 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol (or 2 or more of any High-paying symbol) lands from left to right, starting with the left-most reel.
The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other betting options in between the two. Book of Inferno has a theoretical RTP of 96.15% and a max win cap of 5,846x.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is Anna the Demon Huntress, followed by the Lord of Hell, Lady of Hell and Commander of Hell. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Nine. Book Scatters (Book of Inferno) act as Wilds, substituting for all High and Low-paying symbols in the paytable.
Marked Symbols
During any random spin in the base game, a High or Low-paying symbol can become Marked.
If enough Marked symbols land across the reels, they will expand to fill the entire reel it’s on and pay anywhere, without needing to be in a win line from left to right.
Book Scatters that land with a Marked symbol will upgrade the current Marked symbol one position on the meter above the reel set, potentially creating even more Marked symbols and expansions.
If the Marked symbol is upgraded past the Highest paying symbol, it will convert the Lowest paying symbol into the highest.
The Marked symbols feature is also active during the Free Spins round.
Book of Inferno Free Spins
Landing 3, 4 or 5 Book Scatters across the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10, 15 and 25 Free Spins and a payout of 2x, 20x and 200x your current bet repsectively.
At the start of the Free Spins round, a random High or Low-paying symbol will be chosen as your Marked symbol. The Marked symbol feature works in the same way as it does in the base game.
Landing Book Scatters during this round will award the same amount of extra Free Spins when retriggered.
Book of Inferno Bonus Buy
Those outside the UK will benefit from a Bonus Buy option.
Quickspin has granted players access to the Free Spins round for a total cost of 125x your current bet. (RTP 96.65%).
Book of Inferno: Our Verdict
Book of Inferno is everything you want a Quickspin slot to be. It’s visually amazing, interesting, capable and imaginative in true Quickspin style.
When you see the words ‘Book of’ then you’ve already got a pretty good idea of what Book of Inferno might entail, but Quickspin aren’t ones to follow the crowd, so you can expect a couple of differences from your usual book style slot. The Marked Symbol can activate within the Base Game, giving you a taste of the games capabilities, and in Free Spins its an exciting thrill ride with lots of potential.
How does Book of Inferno stack up against the plethora of games that follow a similar formula? Quite well actually. It’s not completely original, but its impressive visuals and minor tweaks make a big difference.
At its best, Book of Inferno can deliver firey wins of up to 5,846x. This might not be the highest in the book genre of games, but we’d say that Book of Inferno is worth choosing over others just for how well-constructed and interesting it is.
Overall, Book of Inferno isn’t exactly reinventing the wheel, but it’s a refreshing take on a well established slot mechanic.
