Captain Bones Big Bounty Slot Review
Alchemy Gaming have made quite the entrance into 2025 with Captain Bones Big Bounty, a pirate-themed adventure slot that represents the third instalment in the Big Bounty series. Following the success of Big Bounty Gold and Bronco Big Bounty, this release demonstrates the developer’s commitment to refining proven mechanics rather than constantly chasing market trends. If you’re after a swashbuckling experience with substantial features and respectable maths, this nautical adventure has plenty to offer.
Base Game and Features
Captain Bones Big Bounty operates on a 6×4 grid with 4,096 paylines, creating substantial coverage for winning combinations. The game mechanics centre around a pirate and nautical theme, with Captain Bones and crew searching for treasure across the reels. The reel structure provides plenty of opportunities for the various feature mechanics to interact, and the 6×4 layout really does deliver on the promise of consistent engagement.
Wild Symbol and Special Symbols
The Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols except scatters, coins, keys, cash, and jackpot symbols. It’s worth noting that the Wild doesn’t appear on the first reel, which is a deliberate design choice that keeps base game variance balanced. Cash symbols form chains across reels 1 through 5 and collect adjacent jackpot symbols on reel 6 during base gameplay, creating strategic depth to spinning decisions.
Plunder Party Feature
The Plunder Party feature is randomly triggered during base game spins, injecting unexpected excitement into standard gameplay. When it lands, multiple Cash symbols hit the reels in random positions, with a minimum of 6 cash prizes landing when the feature triggers. This random element keeps players engaged between bonus rounds and prevents gameplay from becoming predictable.
Captain Bones Big Bounty Free Spins and Bonus Features
The bonus feature set is genuinely impressive and represents one of the main reasons this slot stands out. You’re not just getting free spins here – you’re getting multiple mechanics layered on top of one another to create a genuinely rewarding bonus experience.
Free Spins and Big Bounty Threshold
Free spins are triggered when six scatter symbols land in the base game, and here’s where Captain Bones Big Bounty becomes genuinely interesting. The free spins continue until you hit a win equal to or greater than the Big Bounty level. That threshold starts at 10x your bet minimum and increases by 2.5x for each additional scatter symbol landed, capping out at 50x. During free spins, Key symbols unlock reels 3, 4, and 5 sequentially, creating dynamic reel expansion that increases winning potential as the bonus progresses.
Big Bounty Wheel Bonus
Landing Coin symbols on reel 6 triggers the Big Bounty Wheel Bonus, and this is where the real action happens. The wheel offers four distinct jackpot levels: Mini (15x), Minor (50x), Major (250x), and Mega (5,000x). Each tier provides meaningful progression, and the Mega prize offers substantial value potential. The multi-tier jackpot structure creates multiple win excitement and keeps the bonus round engaging regardless of which level you hit.
Feature Buy Option
For those who want guaranteed quick access to the free spins bonus, Captain Bones Big Bounty offers a bonus buy feature. You can purchase direct access to free spins for 120x to 144x your bet, with a 60x minimum win guarantee. This provides flexibility for players who want to experience the bonus round without waiting for natural triggers, though the cost varies depending on your bet amount and regional settings.
