The original CherryPop revealed a rather basic aesthetic; however, it was packed with juicy gameplay, so much so that we feel it was one of the best PopWins games from AvatarUX, with a generous max win potential of 56,386x your bet.
After this, AvatarUX released its sequel, CherryPop Deluxe, which delivered a far more appealing aesthetic filled with cartoon animations and bursts of colour, but the max win potential dropped significantly (20,000x your bet) as did its fanbase.
Coming in hot is CherryPop Burst, the third and potentially final instalment of the series, but will it become the perfect blend of its predecessors? Prepare for juicy bursts of action and innovation in CherryPop Burst – a game where players can experience flavour and fortune…
Base Game & Features
CherryPop Burst is the third instalment of the ‘CherryPop’ series from AvatarUX, consisting of 5 reels, expanding rows, and up to 59,049 ways to win. Winning combinations occur when 3, 4, or 5 identical symbols land on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost or rightmost reel.
The highest-paying symbol falls to Cherries, followed by bananas, watermelon, oranges, grapes, apples, plums, blueberries, and A, K, Q, J, 10, & 9 card suits. When a win is evaluated, the game awards a payout between 0.2x and 15x your bet, where applicable.
In the base game, each spin begins with 243 ways to win as standard. When a win is calculated, each winning symbol is removed and replaced with 2 new symbols, increasing the reel height as part of the PopWins mechanic.
The reels can expand up to 6 symbols high in the base game and 9 symbols high in the Free Spins mode. Please note that there are currently no Wild symbols available throughout each session.
Random Multipliers
At the start of or during a random spin, a special Win Multiplier, starting at x2, can trigger. With each PopWins event, the current Win Multiplier will increase by +x1. Alternatively, in Free Spins, a random Win Multiplier will activate at the start of the feature, awarding a Multiplier of x2, x3, or x5.
CherryPop Burst Free Spins
When all 5 reels achieve a reel height of 6 symbols, the Free Spins mode will instantly trigger. In this mode, each reel can obtain up to 9 symbols high in height, which resets to the lowest available height at the start of a new spin.
In addition, the Win Multiplier will continue to persist throughout spins until the end of the Free Spins mode. After each win evaluation, the Win Multiplier will increase by +x1 after each PopWins event.
Lastly, instead of an increment in Win Multiplier, the game may award 1, 2, 3, or 4 additional Free Spins at random.
Fortune Flip Wheels
Once the Free Spins mode is complete, players will be given 3 options:
- Collect: Walk away with the total win of the session and return to the base game
- 50% Gamble: Risk up to 50% of your total win for a chance to win 2x your win, 3x your win, or lose
- 100% Gamble: Risk 100% of your total win for a chance to win 3x your win, 10x your win, or lose
Please note that only Free Spins winnings can be gambled, while any base game hits before the session started will be applied after the Gamble Mode is complete. The above options award a fixed RTP between 96.02% & 96.05%.

Players may purchase any of the following Ante Bet & Bonus Buy options:

Each of the above options includes an overall RTP between 96.03% & 96.10%. CherryPop Burst has a maximum win potential of 20,000x your bet. If a single session exceeds this, the current mode ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.
Our Honest Verdict
Like the overwhelming selection of Big Bass Bonanza slots, AvatarUX’s PopWins series has maintained the same functions since it first released in PopRocks all those years ago. Without any significant changes, the PopWins mechanic quickly loses its appeal, but thankfully, the CherryPop series has never failed to impress us…so far.
When you compare CherryPop Burst to its predecessors, you will notice an array of positive changes, including high-quality graphics and stunning visuals. AvatarUX also win points for its picturesque backdrops in both the base game and Free Spins mode, which are bursting with colour and mouth-watering fruit.
In the base game, Wild symbols and Scatters are missing from the reels, as is the case with the previous ‘CherryPop’ instalments. Instead, players will rely on winning combinations and the PopWins mechanic to increase the height of the reels, potentially leading to Free Spins.
It’s safe to say, you never know what you’re going to get in a PopWins release. Certain releases offer Scatters and Wilds, whilst others avoid them entirely. As expected, CherryPop Burst follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, boosted further by a Pay Both Ways function.
CherryPop Burst unleashes a special Fortune Flip Wheels feature at the end of Free Spins, where players can choose to gamble all or half their total win for a chance to benefit from up to 10x their total win. Due to it being a gamble mode, there’s also the chance to lose the entire amount, so be sure to choose wisely.
The 20,000x max win potential follows in the footsteps of CherryPop Deluxe, rather than the 56.386x your bet available in the original. While this feels like a slap in the face, this figure is plentiful for the average player.
All in all, CherryPop Burst blows us away with its stunning visuals and high-quality optics, but it doesn’t and probably never will top the likes of the original release – maybe next time, eh?
