Devil’s Delight Slot Review
A plump red devil lounges on a gem-studded gold throne at the mouth of a burning cave, trident resting on his shoulder, hoard spilling along the bottom rail. Devil’s Delight, from Reflex, pays almost nothing through its reels and everything through one greedy gatekeeper: unless the devil lands in the centre, every coin and gem on screen is worthless. That’s a braver design than it looks, and it works more often than it should.
It runs on a 5×4 grid with 40 paylines, high volatility, and stakes from 0.10 to 100, with an RTP of 96%. Reflex have form in this territory, with Bugs Money, 2 Fast 2 Fruity and Get Kraken all sitting in the same catalogue. Whether this particular deal with the devil is worth signing is the question the reels have to answer.
Base Game & Features
The paytable is thin at the top and flat at the bottom, with wins quoted as multiples of the base bet. Five of the top symbol returns 12.5x the bet and five of the low royals returns 1x. Here’s every symbol and what it pays:
- Throne/Devil – 2x for three, 3.5x for four, 12.5x for five
- Green/Frog gem – 1x for three, 2.5x for four, 5x for five
- Blue sack – 0.6x for three, 2x for four, 3x for five
- Pink trident – 0.6x for three, 1.5x for four, 2.5x for five
- A, K – 0.4x for three, 1x for four, 1.5x for five
- Q, J, 10 – 0.2x for three, 0.5x for four, 1x for five
Devil symbols are wild and substitute for everything, but they only land in the centre position on the reels. They double as the collector: when a devil lands alongside any coins or gems, their prizes are paid out. Everything in this game routes through that centre position.
Wins pay left to right across the 40 fixed lines, and only the highest combination on each line counts. The lines can’t be adjusted, so the bet range is your only lever.
Coins, Gems and Pots
Coin symbols carry cash values, and four coloured gems each feed a pot prize. Coins and pots alike are multiples of the base bet:
- Coins – 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x
- MINI pot (green gem) – 5x
- MINOR pot (blue gem) – 15x
- MAJOR pot (purple gem) – 100x
- GRAND pot (red gem) – 1000x
A coin or gem on its own does nothing. It sits there until a devil lands in the centre to collect it, which makes every spin with loose prizes on the reels a small held breath. The collection works the same way in every mode.
The gap between the pots is where the game’s shape lives. The three lower tiers step gently from 5x to 100x, then the red gem’s GRAND pot jumps ten times beyond the MAJOR. That top pot is 1,000x the bet from a single gem, and it only needs the one devil to land.
Special Devils and the Boost Bonus
Special devils with different coloured backgrounds can be unlocked and added to the centre reel. Every devil that lands, with or without coins or gems, decrements an on-screen counter, and the base game shows a “five more devils to unlock” tally counting towards the Boost Bonus.
Once unlocked, special devils stay unlocked, and that state persists even when you exit the game. They can land in both the base game and Free Spins, so the unlocking work you do early keeps paying later.
Throne Modifiers
Occasionally the throne character intervenes. At the start of a spin he can shoot a wave of flames over the reels, guaranteeing a devil lands alongside some coins and gems. That’s a guaranteed collection on the spin. At the end of a spin he can fire at the centre reel instead, nudging it up or down onto a devil symbol.
The nudge matters because devils only land in the centre position: a reel stop one row out is a miss, and the fire pulls it back into play. Both modifiers are random, and both exist to feed the collection mechanic.
Devil’s Delight Free Spins and Bonus Buys
Treasure Chests and Free Spins
Two treasure chests sit perched above the reels, and every devil symbol that lands adds to one or both of them. Chests grow in size as they fill, and they may randomly open to award Free Spins:
- Standard chest – 6 Free Spins
- Golden chest – 12 Free Spins
Each time a chest opens it resets in size and may change colour, and chests can turn gold on reset. Chest size persists through bet changes and through exiting the game, so a half-built chest is still yours when you come back.
During the round itself, devils keep landing in the centre position, collecting coins and gems as they do in the base game. The same chest-filling rules apply, and unlocked special devils are live from the first spin. There’s no separate paytable for the feature: what a coin, gem or pot is worth outside is exactly what it’s worth inside.
Golden Bet
For 1.5x your standard bet, Golden Bet increases the chance of the devil landing, making collections and the bonus more frequent. It also guarantees the right treasure chest is always golden, though chest size doesn’t change when you enable it.
The paytable and coin/gem awards don’t increase with Golden Bet on. You’re paying for frequency, not size: at a stake of 1.00, every spin costs 1.50 with it active. The right chest turning golden means every opening from that side carries 12 Free Spins rather than 6. The extra cost applies to every spin until you switch it off.
Buy Bonus
The Buy Bonus button sits on the right side of the base-game screen, and it sells special treasure chests at a multiple of your base bet:
- Standard chest – 75x bet, awards between 6 and 12 Free Spins
- Golden chest – 150x bet, awards between 12 and 24 Free Spins
The spin count inside each purchase is variable, so a golden buy can land you the minimum 12 and feel steep at 150x. Special devils unlocked in the base game carry into the round, and buying doesn’t touch the state of the chests above the reels.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
Playing this is sitting in a burning cave watching a smug devil decide whether you eat. Almost nothing lands as a line win, every coin and gem sits worthless until the centre reel cooperates, and the session becomes one long wait for that one devil. The reason to choose it is the memory: chests keep their size, special devils stay unlocked, so the game remembers your progress between sessions in a way most collectors don’t.
At its best, the loop is quietly gripping, and the 1000x GRAND pot gives the waiting a real ceiling to aim at. The line wins underneath are the problem: 12.5x for five of the top symbol is mean, and between collections the reels give you very little back.
This one suits patient players who enjoy a build and don’t mind long stretches where the paytable stays silent. It’s a poor fit for anyone who wants regular line wins to carry a session, and the throne doesn’t offer them. For the right player, the devil’s hoard is a genuinely fun place to wait.
