Diamonds XXL Multiboost Slot Review
A fork of white lightning crawls across a dark blue void towards a huge faceted red diamond, and beneath all that neon chrome the reels are doing something almost old-fashioned. Diamonds XXL Multiboost is a three-row game where the paytable barely matters: nearly every win worth having comes from the middle reel’s boosters instead. Enjoy Gaming have hung a lot of gold archwork on a very simple shape.
Diamonds XXL Multiboost runs on a 3×5 grid, and the whole game is built around one idea: coins landing on the outer reels, a booster landing on reel two, and the two meeting. There’s no published RTP and no stated maximum win. What the game does have is a tidy system of boosters, multipliers and bonus buys, and that system is the entire reason to be here.
Base Game & Features
The base game is classic fruit-and-luck territory. Bells top the paytable, dice and BAR symbols sit in the middle, and the card suits fill out the bottom. The 777 symbol acts as the wild and appears on all reels, substituting for everything except BONUS, BOOST, MULTIBOOST and JACKPOT.
That exception list matters more than it usually would. The four excluded symbols are exactly the ones the game is named after and built around, so the wild can never stand in for the pieces that make the bonus shapes. It fills gaps in the fruit-and-luck rows and nothing else.
Symbol pays at three of a kind, shown at a 2.00 stake:
- Bells – 20.00 (10x stake)
- Dice – 16.00 (8x stake)
- BAR (gold/black) and BAR (red) – 8.00 (4x stake)
- Purple Spades, Red Hearts, Green Diamonds – 2.00 (1x stake)
- Blue Clubs – 1.00 (0.5x stake)
Two details are worth noticing in that ladder. The two BAR variants pay identically, so a gold-black BAR is never better or worse than a red one. And the suits form a three-way tier at the top of the bottom half, with Blue Clubs a step below on its own – the only place that part of the table differentiates at all.
Three of a kind is the only combination the paytable pays. That’s normal for a three-row grid, but it means the symbol side of the game is over quickly: a spin either lines up three matching symbols across a payline or it doesn’t, and everything interesting that happens afterwards happens through the special symbols.
The BONUS Symbol
The BONUS symbol appears on reels one and three only, and it pays only during the Bonus Game or the BOOST feature. In the main game it’s inert on its own – it needs a partner on the middle reel to do anything, which is where the boosters come in.
BOOST and MULTIBOOST
The BOOST symbol appears on reel two only, and it lands in combination with a BONUS or JACKPOT symbol. When it does, it gathers every BONUS and JACKPOT symbol on the board into one payment. Simple collection, no multiplier.
The MULTIBOOST symbol also lives on reel two, also needs a BONUS symbol to work, and does the same gathering job with a sting in the tail. First it collects the value of every BONUS and JACKPOT coin on the board. Then it rolls one of seven multipliers – x2, x3, x5, x7, x10, x15 or x20 – and applies it to that collected total.
Where the boosted total goes depends on when it happens. In the main game, it’s added straight onto the current spin’s win. In the Bonus Game, it lands in the round’s Total Win instead, which is why a MULTIBOOST appearing during the bonus is worth so much more than one in the base game.
There’s a random nudge built in, too. When a BONUS or JACKPOT lands without a MULTIBOOST, the game may randomly add one to reel two – either activating the MULTIBOOST feature or triggering the Bonus Game outright. It keeps the middle reel interesting.
Diamonds XXL Multiboost Bonus Features
The Bonus Game
The trigger is a specific shape across the outer and middle reels, and both halves have to be present on the same spin. The full sequence runs like this:
- At least one BONUS or JACKPOT symbol lands on reels one and three
- At least one BOOST or MULTIBOOST symbol lands on reel two
- The booster gathers all BONUS and JACKPOT symbols on the board
- If the booster is a MULTIBOOST, its multiplier applies after the collection
It’s the same gathering mechanic as the main game, concentrated into a round where the board is stacked with coins. The mechanics don’t change – the density of what there is to gather does.
Extra Bonus Game
Any BONUS symbol landing during the main game grants a chance at an Extra Bonus Game. When it hits, the game adds BONUS, BOOST and/or MULTIBOOST symbols in quantities enough – or more than enough – to activate the Bonus Game. It’s a rescue mechanic: near-misses get converted into triggers.
Because the added symbols can exceed the minimum needed, the round sometimes arrives with a fuller board than a natural trigger would have produced. The feature doesn’t announce itself in advance, either – a single BONUS symbol on reel one can quietly turn into a full bonus activation.
Extra Bets
Two ante-style options sit alongside the standard stake. Each changes the odds of reaching the Bonus Game, at a cost:
- Double Chance – costs 1.5x the bet, doubles the chance of triggering the Bonus Game
- Boosted Spin – costs 5x the bet, guarantees a BOOST or MULTIBOOST symbol appearance and triples the chance of triggering the Bonus Game
Bonus Buy
The BONUS button buys the round outright, in three tiers. Games are played at the triggering bet, and purchases aren’t possible on an insufficient balance.
- Bonus Game with a BOOST or MULTIBOOST on trigger – 150.00
- Super Bonus Game with a guaranteed BOOST and a guaranteed MULTIBOOST – 350.00
- Multiboost Bonus Game with two guaranteed MULTIBOOSTS – 500.00
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.9/10
Under all the lightning and gold, this is a patient game with one loud moment. Spins tick by on a five-step paytable that tops out at 10x, and the reason anybody sits through that is the middle reel: when the boosters arrive, the x2 to x20 roll over a stacked board is where the money actually is.
The buy menu is the best thing here – three tiers that hand you a real decision about how much certainty to pay for, with a top option that plays differently from the cheap one. The thinness around it is the problem: the whole game rests on one mechanic, and there’s no published RTP or win ceiling to lean on either.
If you like your slots simple, shiny and built around a single idea done properly, the red diamond will suit you down to the ground. Players who want variety in the base game or depth beyond the boosters won’t find it here. It’s a bangle, and a well-made one – just don’t expect a whole jewellery box.
