Explosive Gold Blitz Slot Review
Mine-cart rails run out of the bottom of the frame and down into a tunnel glowing amber, as if the seam itself has caught fire, and the fuse wires curling over the corners of the logo plate are not just decoration. Explosive Gold Blitz is one of the few cash-collect slots that actually makes you choose: when the bonus hits, the safe money and the big money go down separate tunnels, and picking between them is the most interesting decision this format has offered in years.
It’s a 6×4 grid with 4,096 ways from Nailed It! Games, running at 96.00% RTP and high volatility, with stakes from 0.20 to 50.00.
Players who know the studio’s work from Gold Mine Stacks 2 or Explosive Frenzy will recognise the fondness for loud mining imagery. Down here, the gold comes with dynamite attached.
Base Game & Features
Wins pay across 4,096 ways. A way is a pattern of adjacent symbol positions running across the reels, and matching symbols landing next to each other in that pattern, from the left, form a win.
Way wins are paid as multiples of the total bet, not per line. If multiple winning combinations land on a single way, only the highest is awarded, and only the best combination per symbol counts. The total payout is the sum of all way wins and Scatter wins on the spin.
The Wild appears on reels 2 to 6 in the base game and substitutes for everything except the Scatter, Cash, Jackpot and Collect symbols. It carries no payout of its own.
The reel roster splits into three tiers: a Diamond at the top, four mining icons in the middle, and a run of royals below them. The two-symbol tiers share their values, so the Miner and the Lantern pay identically, as do the Pickaxe and Shovel, each pair of royals, and the 10 and 9.
Collect Feature
The Collect symbol lands on reels 1 and 6, and each one awards every Cash and Jackpot symbol in view. That is the whole engine of the base game: land cash, land a collect, get paid.
There’s a twist for the ones that miss. Non-winning Collect symbols fly up to the Dynamite above the reel, which may randomly award additional Collect symbols at the end of the spin. A spin that looked dead can suddenly pay.
Jackpot Symbols
Cash and Jackpot symbols appear on all reels alongside the regular symbols. A Jackpot symbol awards one of three fixed jackpots: MEGA, MAJOR or MINOR. They’re collected by the same Collect symbols that gather the cash values.
The paying symbols, at multiples of the total bet:
- Diamond – 1.5x for three, 2x for four, 2.5x for five, 5x for six
- Miner (helmet) / Lantern – 0.5x for two, 1x for three, 1.5x for four, 2x for five, 2.5x for six
- Pickaxe / Shovel – 0.2x for two, 0.8x for three, 1.2x for four, 1.5x for five, 2x for six
- A / K – 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 1.2x for five, 1.5x for six
- Q / J – 0.4x for three, 0.8x for four, 1x for five, 1.2x for six
- 10 / 9 – 0.3x for three, 0.5x for four, 0.8x for five, 1x for six
The paytable tops out at 5x for a six-of-a-kind Diamond line, which tells you where the real money lives: not in the ways, but in the Cash, Jackpot and Collect symbols stacked on top of them.
Explosive Gold Blitz Bonus Features
Three or more Scatter symbols award a payout and a bonus choice. The Scatters pay 1x, 2x, 3x or 5x the bet for 3, 4, 5 or 6 respectively, and then you pick your round.
The choice, by Scatter count:
- 3 Scatters – 8 Free Spins or 2 Gold Blitz spins
- 4 Scatters – 12 Free Spins or 3 Gold Blitz spins
- 5 Scatters – 20 Free Spins or 5 Gold Blitz spins
- 6 Scatters – 30 Free Spins or 7 Gold Blitz spins
Free Spins
Free Spins strips the round back to ways and wilds. Collect, Cash and Jackpot symbols all disappear, and the Wilds appear only on reels 2, 3 and 4. Every Wild in a way win carries a multiplier of 2x, 3x or 5x, applied to that way’s win. Stack two wilds into one winning way and the multipliers multiply.
Retriggers are generous. During the round, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 Scatters award an extra 5, 8, 12, 20 or 30 Free Spins respectively, so the round can run well past its starting count. A five-scatter retrigger alone doubles a 20-spin round.
Your bet stays at the level of the triggering spin throughout, and all wins are paid once the feature completes.
Gold Blitz
Gold Blitz is the opposite bet. Only Collect, Cash and Jackpot symbols appear, and a Collect symbol is guaranteed to land on reel 1 on every spin. A second Collect may land on reel 6 and gather everything again.
Every spin wins. It cannot be retriggered, so what you pick at the start is what you get: fewer spins than the Free Spins option at every tier, but each one pays something. A three-scatter trigger buys you just two guaranteed collections, so the bigger triggers carry most of this mode’s value.
Bonus Buy
The Bonus Buy button is available in the base game only, and it buys straight into the same choice. Buying at the 4 or 5 Scatter tier carries a chance of more Scatters being awarded on top, which upgrades the round before it starts. The buy runs at 96.25% RTP against the base game’s 96.00%.
The purchase options:
- 4 Scatters (75x bet) – 12 Free Spins or 3 Gold Blitz spins
- 5 Scatters (120x bet) – 20 Free Spins or 5 Gold Blitz spins
- 6 Scatters (150x bet) – 30 Free Spins or 7 Gold Blitz spins
At the top tier, 150x the bet buys a six-scatter trigger outright: 30 Free Spins with the full multiplier engine, or 7 Gold Blitz spins with a collect locked in on every one. There’s no gamble on the trigger at that price, just the choice of round.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.8/10
Most of a session on Explosive Gold Blitz is spent watching for two symbols while the ways quietly pay for your patience. What keeps it off the scrap heap of identical collect games is that fork at the top of every bonus: the steady guaranteed collects or the wild multipliers that can stack. It’s a real decision, and it’s the reason to be here rather than down the road at the next glowing mine shaft.
The Dynamite is the cleverest thing in the base game, turning a dead collect into a live one right at the end of the spin. The letdown is the symbol side: 5x for the best six-of-a-kind means the reels themselves are wallpaper between cash drops, and at high volatility the gaps between features can stretch.
It’s a good home for players who enjoy collect slots but want a genuine choice at the bonus, and for anyone who likes their Free Spins capable of retriggering into something long. If you’re here for big symbol wins, this shaft isn’t the one.
