Fluffy Fishin’ Slot Review
Down on this seabed, a funfair has quietly drowned: a rowboat tilted into the sand, a Ferris wheel half-eaten by seaweed, and light rippling through turquoise water onto the lot of it. Eyecon have built their sunken carnival almost entirely out of charm, and that’s the argument of the game, because Fluffy Fishin’ is a very thin slot wearing a very good costume.
The numbers behind the dressing are modest: a 5×3 grid, 10 locked paylines and a total return of 96.01%. Almost everything the game has to say, it says inside one free spins round. Fluffy Favourites did the soft-toy groundwork; this one takes the toys diving. The diving is pleasant. What the nets bring up is another matter.
Base Game & Features
Ten fixed paylines pay left to right, and there’s nothing to configure: the line count is locked, so every spin runs the full set. Wins need three or more matching symbols on a payline, and only the highest combination on each line counts. It’s a traditional setup, the kind Eyecon have built their catalogue on for years.
The paytable is a short ladder with no dramatic steps anywhere in it. These values are multiples of the total stake, so the credits scale up and down with your bet:
- Boat – 2x for three, 5x for four, 50x for five
- Fish – 1x for three, 5x for four, 10x for five
- Anchor – 1x for three, 2x for four, 8x for five
- A, K – 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 5x for five
- Q, J, 10 – 0.2x for three, 0.5x for four, 2x for five
Two symbols share several of those tiers. The Fish is a multi-position pay symbol, meaning it can occupy more than one position at a time, so a screen full of Fish counts every position it covers. The Anchor sits level with it in the mid-range, so the ladder is really four steps rather than five.
The royals are split into two groups rather than one uniform block, with A and K paying slightly more than Q, J and 10 at every rung. Even so, the letter symbols exist to keep the reels moving between the themed wins. The Boat is the only symbol whose top rung stands apart from everything beneath it.
The paytable and the feature awards are the whole picture. What that picture shows is a narrow field with one high rung: most of the money concentrates at five of a kind, and the top of the board is the only place the base game produces anything sizable.
Wild Symbol
The Elephant, carried over from the Fluffy family, is the wild. It substitutes for every symbol except the scattered Net and Logo symbols, and it can stand in for the Boat on the top rung of the paytable, which is where it does its most useful work.
Because the paytable is flat, the wild’s contribution is felt more in frequency than in size. A five-of-a-kind Boat line with an Elephant in it is the best the base game can produce, and everything else it completes sits at or below the 10x mark. In practice the Elephant is a line-filler for the mid-tier symbols far more often than it is a jackpot-maker.
Fluffy Fishin’ Bonus Features & Free Spins
Free Games
Free Games are triggered by scattered Logo symbols landing anywhere across the reels, and they don’t need to sit on a payline to count. The more scatters you land, the bigger the award:
- 3 Logo symbols – 10 Free Games
- 4 Logo symbols – 15 Free Games
- 5 Logo symbols – 20 Free Games
During Free Games, Net symbols are added to the reels, and they’re the door to everything else that happens in the round. The scatters don’t do anything else once the round is running; their job ends at the trigger.
One thing the round doesn’t do is retrigger: whatever you win at the trigger is the number of spins you get, and no scatter combination during the feature adds more. That makes the opening draw matter more than it would in a round you could extend, and a five-scatter trigger at 20 games is the best start available.
Everything else about the round stays as it was. The paytable doesn’t change, the locked paylines stay locked, and the Elephant keeps substituting exactly as it does in the base game. The only structural difference between the two modes is the nets, which is why the whole round lives or dies on how often they drop in.
Fishin’ Feature
This is the round’s collect mechanic, and it works in three steps:
- A Net symbol lands in view during a Free Game.
- Every Fish symbol currently on the reels pays out the value it’s showing.
- Any further Nets landing on the same spin each trigger the collection again.
Because Fish symbols carry their own displayed values rather than paying through the standard ladder, the feature is where the round’s real money sits. The base paytable prices the Fish at up to 10x, but inside the feature those same symbols pay whatever value they’re showing when a net arrives. It’s the difference that defines the whole round.
There’s no cap on how many nets a single spin can bring, and each one collects independently. A board carrying several Fish at once under a net is the feature’s ceiling moment, and it’s the only place in the game where the payout math departs from the printed ladder entirely.
The two features are chained, then: the Logo scatters open the round, and the Nets decide what the round is worth. A free spins session that lands nets keeps collecting throughout, while one that doesn’t plays out as an ordinary, fairly tame bonus round. The nets only exist during Free Games, so nothing in the base game collects anything.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.3/10
You come to this one for the view, honestly: the drowned funfair is the best piece of work in it, and the free spins round underneath gives you something to wait for while you look around. There’s a real pleasure in a slot that knows exactly how much game it needs and doesn’t pad it.
The Fishin’ Feature is the strength, because several nets on one spin can sweep a whole board of Fish values at once, and that’s the only moment here with genuine swing. The weakness is everything either side of it: a top symbol worth 50x makes the base game drift, and a round that can’t retrigger means one good draw has to carry it.
This is a game for the Fluffy faithful and anyone after a low-fuss, charm-first spin. The fair below the waves is in good condition, and it doesn’t need to be anything more than that.
