Football Finals X UP Base Game and Features

Football Finals X UP is a 5 reel slot with 243 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol types land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€20 per spin, with a small choice of betting options in between the two. Football Finals X UP has a theoretical RTP of 96.22% and a maximum win capacity of 10,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Football Finals X UP is Yellow Footballer, followed by the Red Footballer, Green Footballer, the Two Fans and the Football. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten.

X UP Feature

Situatued on the left side of the screen is a series of X UP amounts, these are all part of the X UP feature.

Failing to land the Free Spins round, the 2 Scatters will be collected and stored in the X UP meter. Each of the 2 Scatters amounts to 1 Notch on the X UP meter.

The X UP meter has a total of 8 levels, with each level having a bigger and better Multiplier than the one before it, up to a maximum of x10. Upgrading your position on the X UP meter means you will start off with this win Multiplier for Free Spins. Reaching the maximum Multiplier of x10 will automatically trigger the Free Spins round.

Choosing to change your current bet whilst you have stored X UP tokens in play will be saved per bet, so you don’t need to worry about losing your current position on the X Up meter.

Football Finals X UP Free Spins

Landing 3 Scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 automatically triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 8 Free Spins.

The X UP multiplier level you’re currently on will be your starting Multiplier for the Free Spins round. During this round, landing X UP tokens on reels 2 and 4 can increase your current Multiplier if you collect enough.

In addition to this, landing 2 Scatters on reels 2 and 4 will award an additional +2 Free Spins.

Upsizer Feature

Before the Free Spins round can begin, you will be given a choice to activate a higher Multiplier…but it comes at a cost!

If you choose to take advantage of the Upsizer feature, you will need to confirm your choice and the cost of increasing your staring Mutliplier.

The Upsizer feature is only available to those who trigger the Free Spins round with a Multiplier less than x10. Also, the Upsizer feature may not be available for those playing on a certain bet.

Football Finals X UP: Our Verdict

With the success of previous X UP titles firmly in our minds, were Alchemy Gaming able to pull off another installment to the series? Africa X UP was the start of something magical, not only for players but for Alchemy Gaming themselves which then lead to bigger and better things in Chronicles of Olympus X UP.

Although Bolt X UP was a great addition to the X UP series, it wasn’t the follow up we were hoping for and felt rather watered down compared to the others, with a much lower maximum win capacity and sadly Football Finals X UP has followed suit.

In terms of theme, Footballs Finals X UP doesn’t have that wow factor about it like Africa X UP or Chronicles of Olympus X UP does, but this is quickly overlooked once you get into the nitty gritty of gameplay and enjoy the X UP feature that many of us are so fond of, minus the glorious x25 and x50 Multiplier levels seen in the others.

It’s not the first time we have gotten up close and personal with the Upsizer feature, but again if you’re in the UK this is not an option for you. The Upsizer feature does bring an element of excitement though by giving you the option to max out the Multiplier which delivers bigger and better potential.

All in all, Football Finals X UP makes a lovely addition to the X UP series, but if you’re looking for the same excitement and potential as Africa X UP and Chronicles of Olympus X UP for example, then you’re better off sticking to the originals.
