Freaky Friday Slot Review 2024

Freaky Friday Fixed Symbols from Stakelogic will have you reeling in horror in a game where the Doctor’s qualifications sanity is questionable at best.

What does one do when a mad doctor requires an accomplice to participate in his controversial, contentious and unethical operations? You take part of course.

Grab a scalpel and make your merry way to the dreary operating room in a bid to get rich, but leave your mental stability behind, because only a madman could thrive in this world.

Freaky Friday is an interesting concept from a developer adept in creating an interesting story, but despite the name, it’s got nothing to do with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis’ 2003 movie (sorry ladies).

Let’s get down to business, mix up a serum or two, and ‘fix’ those reels by whatever means necessary in Stakelogic’s exciting new slot.

Freaky Friday Slot Base

Freaky Friday Fixed Symbols – The Base Game and Features

Freaky Friday Fixed Symbols is a 5 reel slot with 20 fixed paylines. The lowest stake here is £/€0.20 per spin, and the highest stake is £/€100 per spin (Super Stake not inc).

The highest paying symbol is the Mad Scientist, followed by the Electrifying Helmet, a Mask to muffle the screams of unwilling patients, a Brain, and a bottle of Pills. The lowest paying symbols are Ace, King, Queen, Jack & 10.

To form a win, you’ll need to connect 2 of any high paying symbol, or 3 of any low paying symbol from left to right along any of the 20 pay lines, starting from the left-most reel.

Rewards for connecting full lines in Freaky Friday are quite good, with wins of 125x up for grabs if you can land a full line of the highest paying symbol.

It’s also worth mentioning that Freaky Friday features a Book Wild symbol, which also acts as a Scatter Symbol…Have you guessed what sort of slot Freaky Friday might be yet?

Let’s take a look at the Free Spins round and find out.

Freaky Friday Fixed Symbols – Free Spins

Freaky Friday Fixed Symbols requires you to land at least 3 book symbols anywhere in view to trigger Free Spins, and there’s also a Scatter Prize mechanic here too.

  • 3 Scatters – 2x the bet
  • 4 Scatters – 20x the bet
  • 5 Scatters – 200x the bet

Players are awarded 10 Free Spins in the Freaky Friday Bonus, but before it starts, a special symbol is selected. This special symbol becomes an expanding symbol within the Free Spins round.

If your special symbol is a high paying symbol then you’ll need 2 in view to trigger a symbol expansion, or you’ll need 3 if you’ve got a low paying symbol. Special symbols expand vertically to cover all 4 positions on its respective reel, and pay outs for special symbols ignore pay lines.

Free Spins may be re-triggered during the bonus round by landing 3 more Scatter Symbols. This will once again award a Scatter Prize, and 10 extra spins with the currently selected symbol.

Friday Friday Super Stake – Fixed Symbols Feature

Stakelogic fans might be wondering ‘what about the brilliant Super Stake feature?’

Well in this particular slot it doesn’t serve any purpose within the Base Game, but it kicks into play during Free Spins if you had it activated when you triggered the bonus.

Super Stake activates the Fixed Symbols Feature during Free Spins. When the Fixed symbols feature is enabled, Golden Wild Scatter symbols may land on reels 2-4.

When the Golden Wild Scatter symbol lands on the reel, then it becomes a Fixed symbol reel. This means that it will always cause an Expanding Symbol win when one is possible.

Think of it as sort of a Wild Reel. If you have a high paying symbol then you only need 2 symbols anywhere in view to trigger an expansion. If one lands, then the Fixed Symbol Feature will kick in to act as the other symbol you need for an expansion.

If you get more than one Fixed Reel and a high paying symbol, then you’re talking about an Expansion on every single spin.

In terms of cost, the Super Stake Feature doubles your bet, but it does not double the pay table.

Freaky Friday Super Stake – Our Verdict

It’s been a little while since we’ve reviewed a Book Slot, and historically we’ve been a little harsh on those that didn’t push the boundaries of innovation.

In essence, Freaky Friday is a Book Slot through and through, but it’s not an exact carbon copy of successful titles before it. Stakelogic has been meticulous in the way they’ve designed Freaky Friday with its somewhat unique theme, and we must say, the visuals in Stakelogic slots are always spot on.

Freaky Friday isn’t without its innovations either. The Super Stake Fixed Symbols Feature really gives Freaky Friday a personality of its own, and it’s really exciting to witness in action.

In other aspects, Freaky Friday might not look as attractive as some other Book Slots. The Book Style slots are a staple in the world of igaming, and there’s man that prefers the ‘Legacy’ way of doing things where 8 spins are awarded, but re-triggers award another symbol. Pay out values could have been a tad higher too. The highest paying symbol pays 125x your bet for a full line, so if you manage to get a full screen of him then you’ll be looking at 2,500x, which is half of Book of Dead, despite the extra row and 10 extra lines.

Then again, the Fixed Symbols Feature might have called for lower potential because of its ability to stick and act as a special symbol, which is fair enough, but those who decide not to activate Super Stake may not agree.

Stakelogic has stated a 10,000x win cap on this one, which sounds great, but you’d need full screen expansions of the highest paying symbol 4 times to see it.

Overall, we’re impressed as per usual with Stakelogic’s execution. The theme and the visuals are brilliant, the gameplay is solid and the Fixed Symbols Feature takes it up a notch. It just loses out on a few extra brownie points for lower potential compared to other Book Slots.
