Funky Pharaoh Jackpot King Slot Review
A pale limestone pyramid sits in the haze on the left, palm fronds droop into frame from the right, and golden dunes run down to a sliver of turquoise water below the gilded reel frame. Strip the gilding away, though, and there’s barely a slot here: one walking wild, ten winlines, and the real money sitting in a networked jackpot that has nothing to do with Egypt at all.
Ancient Egypt is the most crowded theme in slots, and Blueprint Gaming haven’t tried to escape it here – they’ve dressed it in bright colours and bolted on a networked jackpot instead.
One walking wild carries the entire game, and everything else is a ticket into the Jackpot King Deluxe network that also runs through Fishin Frenzy Jackpot King and Ted Jackpot King. The 5×4, 10-winline grid pays at 93.04% RTP all-in, and a single game caps at 250,000x the total bet. It’s lean, old-fashioned, and the pharaoh does all the work.
How the Base Game Pays
Wins pay left to right across 10 winlines, and only the highest combination on each line counts. It’s a classic fixed-line setup: match two, three, four or five symbols from the leftmost reel and the win lands in your balance.
The Funky Pharaoh wild is stacked and substitutes for every symbol except the scatter, and it only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4. It’s also the richest symbol on the reels in its own right – a line of wilds pays as a wild win, not just as a substitute for something cheaper. Symbol values are multiples of the total bet:
- Funky Pharaoh wild: 0.2x for two, 1x for three, 8x for four
- Treasure Chest: 0.2x, 0.6x, 4x, 10x
- Scarab: 0.2x, 0.6x, 3x, 8x
- Eye of Horus / Ankh: 0.4x, 2x, 6x
- A / K: 0.2x, 0.8x, 3x
- Q / J / 10: 0.2x, 0.6x, 2x
There’s a hard ceiling on any single game: 250,000x the total bet, or the fixed cash cap, whichever comes first. Beyond the line wins, the only route to anything bigger is the pharaoh himself or the jackpot overlay symbols.
Funky Wild Respins
Land the Funky Pharaoh wild fully stacked on reels 2, 3 or 4 and the respin feature triggers. The pharaoh then walks one reel to the left on every respin, paying out any wins in view after each step. He keeps walking until no Funky Pharaohs remain on the screen.
The multiplier is what makes the walk worth taking. Every time the pharaoh moves one reel position, the win multiplier increases by one, climbing to a maximum of 10x. A stack nudged in from the right edge can carry a string of increasingly valuable respins across the reels before it exits on the left.
Spin Boost
Spin Boost is an alternate mode, subject to operator configuration and jurisdiction. With it active, partially landed Funky Pharaoh wilds get nudged into full view, turning a near miss into a full stack – the difference between a dead spin and a walking-wild sequence.
The nudges also apply during the respins themselves, so a pharaoh arriving half in view partway through a walk still gets pulled onto the reel. That’s the difference between a dead spin and a walking-wild sequence.
The mode runs at 93.17% RTP against 93.04% in standard play, with the jackpot contribution of 0.38% and a 0.11% reserve counted on top of both figures. That’s a fraction of a percent for a feature that makes the game’s one mechanic considerably easier to catch.
The Jackpot King Deluxe Bonus
Five Jackpot King Deluxe overlay symbols on reels 1 to 5, one per reel, and the bonus is on. It’s the standard networked format available on any stake on any game plugged into the Jackpot King Deluxe system, so this is the same door that opens in the other Jackpot King titles.
Inside, you spin to accumulate Crown symbols and climb a win ladder. Reach 15 or more Crowns and you go straight into the Wheel King round. After any spin you can instead choose an icon to reveal one of three outcomes:
- Spin – spin again, with any further Crowns in view adding to the ladder
- Collect – end the feature and take the Bonus Win reached on the ladder, as a multiple of your total bet
- Wheel King – go directly into the Wheel King round
The choice is the only decision in the game: bank the ladder multiplier, or push on towards the wheel where the jackpots live. Nothing else here asks you anything.
Wheel King Feature
The Wheel King is a tombola-style wheel made up of big-win multiplier segments and progressive pot segments. One spin decides it: either a large multiple of your total bet, or one of the three jackpots – Royal, Jackpot King and Regal, displayed live in the top bar of the game.
The jackpots can only be won in this part of the bonus, never in the crown-collecting stage. When one drops, it resets to its reserve and starts climbing again: the Regal pot re-seeds at 5,000 and the Royal at 500, fixed amounts rather than multiples of stake.
The odds of hitting a pot improve as its value rises, and the Royal and Regal pots are guaranteed to pay out by their “Must Be Won By” value. Two players can’t win the same pot simultaneously – first to trigger takes the lot, the second takes the reseed. The pots are funded by contributions from each stake, with only the initial seeds put up by the operator.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.2/10
Most spins here are quiet desert: ten winlines, small line wins, and a long wait for a pharaoh to stack up and start walking. That walk is the reason to sit down at this one – a wild trudging left across the reels while the multiplier climbs behind it is genuinely tense, and Spin Boost makes it easier to catch.
The trouble is how little sits around it. Line pays top out at 20x, so between walks the game gives you almost nothing, and the Egyptian dressing is decoration on a jackpot network you can find in plumper hosts. Blueprint have built richer frames around these same pots.
It’s for jackpot chasers who’d rather watch one clear mechanic than juggle four, and for low-stakes players who like knowing exactly what they’re waiting for. Anyone after layered bonus rounds will outgrow it in an evening. For the patient, the oasis is real enough.
