Ted Jackpot King Slot Review
A slobby living room after dark: crushed lager cans on the carpet, a tartan sofa, and a foul-mouthed teddy bear clutching a TV remote while a jackpot ladder hangs on a red-and-gold plaque behind his head. Ted Jackpot King is that rare licensed slot that earns its film tie-in through sheer volume of things to do rather than coasting on the bear’s face – and whether that volume is generosity or padding is the honest question about this game.
The argument in its favour is that this is the film licence done properly – a stack of features rather than one lazy bonus bolted onto a branded reel set. Blueprint Gaming built this one on a 5×4 grid with 20 winlines, and a 94% RTP, which tells you the progressive pots are doing some of the talking.
It’s a follow-up to the original Ted slot, and it sits in Blueprint’s licensed bracket alongside The Goonies and Sausage Party. The bear never learned any manners, and neither did the paytable’s top end.
Base Game & Features
The base game runs on five reels and four rows, with wins formed across 20 fixed winlines. Symbols pay left to right on consecutive reels, wins across different lines are added together, and only the highest combination on each line counts. Standard line-pay maths, in other words, dressed in club-purple haze and neon trim.
You set your stake from the available options, which depend on operator configuration and currency, and spin. Winning combinations of two, three, four, or five matching symbols start from the far-left reel, and line wins are multiplied by the value bet on the winning line.
Paytable
All values are multiples of the total bet:
- Ted (Super Stacked): 2 pays 2x, 3 pays 40x, 4 pays 100x, 5 pays 500x
- Goose: 3 pays 20x, 4 pays 80x, 5 pays 300x
- Bong/lava lamp: 3 pays 10x, 4 pays 60x, 5 pays 200x
- A / K: 3 pays 8x, 4 pays 40x, 5 pays 100x
- Q / J: 3 pays 4x, 4 pays 10x, 5 pays 50x
The wild substitutes for everything except the Thunder Buddies Bonus scatter, pays at the top symbol’s rates, and can’t stand in for scatters or bonus symbols. Three wilds on a line will either pay as a wild line or help complete a longer combination – whichever is worth more.
The premium end of the table is where the money sits. The stacked Ted symbol is the one to watch: it can land across neighbouring columns, covering a large slice of the grid in a single hit and putting the 500x five-of-a-kind within reach.
Below the Goose, the drop-off is steep. The royals pay modestly and mostly exist to keep the balance ticking between features.
Ted Modifiers
Ted can wake up on any spin and trigger one of six random modifiers. It’s the mechanism that keeps the base game alive between bonuses, and each modifier changes the reels in its own way:
- Lazer Gun Infectious Wilds
- Psychedelic Super Spin
- Beer Shuffle’d!
- Psychedelic Colossal Spin
- TV Streak
- Psychedelic Bonus Boost
Wild symbols come in three flavours: standard wilds, Grocery Spin Wilds, and a Colossal Wild. The Psychedelic entries play with reel structure, the Lazer Gun converts symbols into wilds, and TV Streak and Beer Shuffle’d! rework what’s already landed. None of them requires anything from you – they fire, they resolve, the reels carry on.
Ted Jackpot King Bonus Features
Thunder Buddies Bonus
Three or more Thunder Buddies Bonus scatters anywhere on the reels awards the Thunder Buddies Bonus. From there you move up a ladder to win one of five bonuses:
- S+MART Free Spins
- Wheel of Fortune
- Bar Crawl Bonus
- Ted Free Spins
- Ted’s Big Money Bonus
The ladder climb gives the trigger a second layer of tension – landing the scatters only starts the argument about which of the five rounds you’ll actually reach. Scatter wins are added on top of any line wins from the triggering spin, so even a short climb pays something.
Ted Free Spins is the deepest of the five rounds, and it can arrive loaded with feature upgrades and prizes stacked on top. The others run the gamut from a prize wheel to a bar-hopping pick round.
Jackpot King Deluxe
The Jackpot King Deluxe feature can activate at random during any spin, regardless of what’s on the reels. It runs in three stages. First you spin to collect crowns, and a bigger crown haul awards a bigger total-bet multiplier.
Next comes the King’s Treasure pick, where your choices increase the prize you’ve built. Finally there’s the Wheel King, a wheel round offering large wins and a shot at one of the progressive pots.
Three pots sit on that ladder – the Jackpot King, the Royal Pot, and the Regal Pot – and all of them trigger randomly during any spin. At a bet of 1.00 they stood at 929.66x, 1,032.47x, and 5,000.96x the stake, and because they’re progressive, those figures move with every bet placed. The Regal Pot is the ceiling here; the smaller pots reset and climb again far more often.
Autoplay switches itself off on a jackpot win, which is a small practical touch. The stake menu and currency equivalents also vary by operator, so what’s available depends on where you play.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Playing Ted Jackpot King is like babysitting the bear himself: loud, crude, always one random event away from chaos, and never boring. The reason to choose it over any other licensed slot is that nothing here is passive – between the modifiers, the ladder and the pots, every spin carries a live wire.
Its biggest strength is the Thunder Buddies ladder. One trigger feeding five genuinely different rounds means a scatter landing matters before you even know what you’ve won, and that tension is worth more than any single bonus could provide. The weakness is the paytable’s cliff edge: below the Ted and Goose symbols the money dries up fast, and most of the smaller modifiers don’t paper over it.
This one suits fans of the film who want the licence doing real work, and players who like a base game that can erupt at any moment. Anyone chasing published figures or a tight, focused feature set will find it messy. The rest can settle into the sofa with the cans on the carpet – the bear’s in charge, and he’s generous company.
