Grand Reveal Slot Review
A silhouetted crowd in top hats watches a riveted copper cabinet under looping red and gold bulbs, and every prop on that stage is hiding something. Grand Reveal is one of the few collection slots where the reveal itself pays nothing, and it’s better for it: the whole game is a two-part trick in which prizes are uncovered in one breath and pocketed in the next.
From Curious Games, whose Cosmic Commander we have already covered, it’s a 5×3 grid with 25 fixed paylines, a 95.87% RTP and wins of up to 10,000x the bet. The reels sit in that bulb-lit copper frame, a signboard overhead promises a prize hidden under a ribbon-tied prop, and the whole evening builds towards pulling the ribbon off.
Base Game & Features
Wins need three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels from the leftmost side, along one of the 25 paylines. Only the highest win on each line counts. Wins on different lines add together.
Standard left-to-right business, and nothing here will surprise anyone who has spun a five-reel game before. The interest sits in the symbols rather than the lines:
- Hat – 8x for five, 4x for four, 1x for three
- Watch – 7x for five, 3.2x for four, 0.8x for three
- Saw – 6x for five, 2.8x for four, 0.6x for three
- Cabinet – 3x for five, 1.2x for four, 0.4x for three
- Spade – 3x for five, 1.2x for four, 0.4x for three
- Heart – 3x for five, 1.2x for four, 0.4x for three
Every value is a multiple of the total bet, not the line bet, which is worth knowing when the top award looks modest at a glance. The paytable runs from show props at the top down to card suit icons at the bottom.
The Wild Dove Symbol substitutes for all the regular paying symbols, and for nothing else. It won’t stand in for the Grand Reveal Collector, the Prize Symbol, or either ticket Scatter.
Major Symbol Bonuses
A win on one of the major symbols can trigger a multiplier, an instant prize, or a boost to your Prestige Level. That’s a second layer of reward sitting on top of the ordinary payline win, and it gives the top of the paytable a second way to pay.
Because the bonus rides on wins rather than on a separate trigger symbol, the major symbols are worth chasing even when their line pays alone look thin. A Hat win might pay 1x and then hand you a Prestige boost on top.
Prestige Levels
A counter beside the reels tracks your Prestige Level through the session, on slatted wooden placards lit like backstage crates. The level isn’t cosmetic. Collection mechanics change as you climb, and from Level 3 onwards the Grand Reveal Collector gets a second home on the reels.
It’s a steady build rather than a sudden unlock, and the level counter gives even losing spins a small sense of progress. The ladder climbs slowly, and the higher rungs pay for the patience.
Grand Reveal Bonus Features
The Grand Reveal Symbol
Land the Grand Reveal Symbol and it uncovers Prize Symbols on the reels. This is the reveal the title promises: props pulled aside, prizes underneath.
Nothing is paid yet, though, because Prize Symbols only award when something collects them in the same spin. The reveal is a promise rather than a payout until the second half of the trick lands.
The Grand Reveal Collector Symbol
The Grand Reveal Collector Symbol is the paymaster of the act. It’s available on reel 1 only, until Prestige Level 3 opens reel 5 to it as well. The full sequence works like this:
- The Grand Reveal Symbol uncovers Prize Symbols on the reels
- A Collector Symbol lands on reel 1, or on reels 1 and 5 from Prestige Level 3
- A single Collector collects all eligible Prize Symbols at their revealed values
- Collectors on both reels in the same spin collect every eligible Prize Symbol twice
That double collection is the centrepiece of the act. Every uncovered prize pays out two times over in a single spin, and it’s the second Collector reel, unlocked at Prestige Level 3, that makes the double possible at all.
Prize values scale with the active bet and stay hidden until a collection triggers, so the reveal and the payout arrive together. A Prize Symbol tile worth 20x the total bet is shown in the game’s paytable screens.
Illusionist Transformation Trick
If a Collector lands and there are no Prize Symbols on the reels, the spin isn’t wasted. An Illusionist Transformation Trick may trigger instead, and the magician turns a dead collection into something else.
Ticket Scatters
Two scatter symbols round out the show: the Mezzanine Ticket and the Front Row Ticket. Three or more matching tickets on the reels trigger the feature that ticket belongs to, and they don’t need to sit on a payline to count.
The two tiers of seating are the whole joke of the pair. The better seats, presumably, come with the better show.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Sitting through Grand Reveal feels like watching a magician who takes his time. Most spins are set dressing, and the reason to choose it is that the payoff is genuinely staged: prizes stay hidden until the moment they’re collected, so every collection lands with a little flourish the paytable alone can’t provide.
The strength is the double collection. Once the Collector can land on both end reels, a single spin pays every uncovered prize two times over, and that’s a mechanic with real teeth, not a cosmetic upgrade. The weakness is the wait. Line pays top out at 8x for five, and the early Prestige Levels offer little beyond the promise of better ones, so the first stretch of a session can feel like the warm-up act.
It’s for players who like a game that remembers them, who enjoy climbing a ladder while they spin. Anyone chasing instant free-spins rounds will find the curtain rises too slowly. For the patient, the show is worth the ticket.
