Greedy Fox Slot Review 2024
There’s a hungry fox on the prowl and he’s set his sights on some delicious-looking eggs in Stakelogic’s latest release, Greedy Fox!
Although usually a menace, this greedy fox is here to help! Without his skills in the egg-stealing department, we wouldn’t get to witness the Free Spins round in action.
Greedy Fox is a colourful farming slot without the lingering smell of cowpat or horse manure in the air. Here you will get to witness the greedy fox in his element, expanding on the reels and collecting up eggs needed to enter the Free Spins round.
Will this greedy fox prove to be more of an asset than an inconvenience? Let’s play on and find out!
Greedy Fox Base Game and Features
Greedy Fox is a 5-reel slot with 20 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 (£/€0.40 Super Stake) per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€20 (£/€40 Super Stake) per spin, with a variety of betting options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 95.80% and a max win of 20,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying symbol here is the Dog, followed by the Horse, Cow, and Chicken. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten.
Super Stake
Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the option to activate the Super Stake feature.
Choosing to activate this feature will Double your current bet. Once active, your chance of triggering the Free Spins round is increased.
Wild GreedyFox Symbol
During the base game, whenever a Greedy Fox symbol lands in view, it will expand to fill the entire reel it’s on, creating a Wild Reel.
The Wild Greedy Fox symbol substitutes for all other symbols except Egg Scatters. Once the Greedy Fox symbol has expanded, it will also collect any Egg Scatter values across the reels.
Greedy Fox Free Spins
Landing 5 or more Egg Scatters across the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins. Egg money values are only awarded when the Greedy Fox symbol lands in view.
During Free Spins, the Wild Greedy Fox symbol acts in the same way it does during the base game, expanding to fill the entire reel it is present on and collecting Egg Scatter values.
Also active during this time is a Global Multiplier starting at x1. Each time an Egg Multiplier symbol lands in view, the Global Multiplier will be increased. The Global Multiplier will be applied to all winning combinations during Free Spins.
Alongside Multiplier Egg Scatters, a Bonus Win symbol is also available. More on these below.
- Bonus Win Symbol – The value that appears on the Bonus Win symbol is equal to the total value of the triggering Egg Scatters that activated Free Spins. When the Bonus Win symbol lands, it will automatically award its money value.
- Multiplier Egg Scatter – Each Multiplier Egg Scatter that lands will increase the Global Multiplier by +1.
Greedy Fox Bonus Buy
Those outside the UK will benefit from a Bonus Buy option. Stakelogic has granted players access to 4 Bonus Buy options as follows.
- 10 Free Spins – Costs 100x your current bet.
- 10 Free Spins +1 guaranteed Bonus Win symbol – Costs 200x your current bet.
- 10 Free Spins +1 guaranteed Bonus Win symbol and +1 Greedy Fox symbol – Costs 500x your current bet.
- Random – Awards one of the above options at random for a total cost of 150x your current bet.
Greedy Fox: Our Verdict
Greedy Fox has a fair amount of potential, but it doesn’t quite hit the spot like Treasures of Ra or Spartans Vs Zombies. Maybe it’s because the theme isn’t as exciting, and it’s hard not to compare it to Lightning Box Games’ Chicken Fox.
We think Stakelogic has done well to make a cash collect game as attractive as Greedy Fox is. Sometimes it just doesn’t work, but the Golden Chicken value and the multiplier brought on by the stacked Fox Wild make Greedy Fox deceptively capable. Of course, some bonus rounds went by with unenthusiastic returns, but overall we liked Greedy Fox more than we thought we would.
Intricate little tweaks make it a cut above many games like it, but for the UK market, the game might not be quite as viable.
Unless we’re mistaken, there’s no way to trigger the ‘Super Bonus’, which gives a chicken and a fox on each and every spin. If we’re right, then this makes Greedy Fox significantly less attractive to the UK market, which would be a shame.
Overall though, Greedy Fox had the makings of a quality slot where it mattered, even if it doesn’t make an imposing first impression.
