Grizzly Chase Slot Review
Sunlight spills down a Rocky Mountain valley of pine forest and bare rock peaks, a pale river threading the meadow below the reels, the whole grid boxed in by barked logs lashed with rope. Grizzly Chase is a slot that punishes you for playing it small: almost everything about it, from the shape of the grid to the number of positions that can fire its main feature, improves as you pay more per spin. That’s a rarer design than it sounds, and it makes the game a set of decisions before it’s ever a set of spins.
The studio behind it is Qora Games, whose Coins of Poseidon 2 and Vegas Space Heist Reloaded we’ve also covered. Six reels pay across up to 11,664 ways on a grid that grows from 3-3-4-4-6-6, and the total RTP climbs with your choices, from 94.07% at the smallest setting to 94.46% at the largest buy.
Prize Symbols
The heart of the game is the Prize Symbols feature. It fires when the same symbol lands in the highlighted positions on reels 1 and 2. Every matching symbol further along the grid, on reels 3 to 6, is then given a Prize Symbols value, and all the values on symbols forming ways winning combinations are summed into the total win. One spin can stack values across four columns at once.
The highlighted positions matter more than they first appear. At the base FeatureBet level there’s one on each of the first two reels; Level 2 adds a second highlight on reel 2, and only Level 3 carries two on each. More highlights mean more chances for the feature to fire, which is the real engine behind the bet levels.
Wins themselves pay as ways: matching symbols in any position on consecutive columns from left to right, starting on the leftmost reel. Only the highest matching combination for each symbol is paid, and wins for different symbols are added together.
Wilds substitute for everything except the BONUS symbol and appear only on columns 3, 4 and 5. They can form part of a ways combination, but they never carry a Prize Symbols value of their own, so a wild never adds its own weight to a stacked round.
Free Spins Bonus
Three or more BONUS symbols anywhere on the grid trigger the Free Spins Bonus, starting with 10 spins. BONUS symbols pay in any position before the round begins, as multiples of the total bet:
- 3 BONUS symbols pay 2x the total bet
- 4 BONUS symbols pay 5x the total bet
- 5 BONUS symbols pay 10x the total bet
- 6 BONUS symbols pay 50x the total bet
Once inside the round, the Prize Symbols feature stays active using the same highlighted positions as the triggering spin. That continuity is what gives the bonus its teeth: the setup you triggered with is the setup you keep.
Column Multipliers
Every free spin randomly awards a multiplier to each of columns 3 to 6, applied to the Prize Symbols values on that column before they’re paid. Column 6 is the one to watch, because it can run hotter than the rest:
- Columns 3 to 5: x2 to x5 per column, per spin
- Column 6: x2 to x10 per column, per spin
With values stacked down four columns and multipliers rerolled every spin, a good round can build quickly. Wilds still appear on columns 3, 4 and 5 during the bonus, substituting as they do in the base game.
Retriggers
BONUS symbols keep landing during the round, and two or more of them award extra spins on top of their pay:
- 2 BONUS symbols award 3 extra spins
- 3 BONUS symbols award 5 extra spins
- 4 BONUS symbols award 8 extra spins
- 5 BONUS symbols award 10 extra spins
- 6 BONUS symbols award 15 extra spins
Because the retrigger table pays from two symbols rather than three, the round can keep feeding itself while you’re still working through the initial 10 spins. Six BONUS symbols in a single spin is the ceiling, worth 15 more spins on top of the 50x pay.
FeatureBet and FeatureBuy
The base game can be played at three FeatureBet levels, and the higher the level, the bigger the grid and the more ways to win:
- Level 1: 3-3-4-4-6-6 grid, 5,184 ways
- Level 2: 3-3-4-6-6-6 grid, 7,776 ways
- Level 3: 3-3-6-6-6-6 grid, 11,664 ways
Each level also adds highlighted positions on the first two reels, so the jump isn’t only about ways. Level 1 carries one highlight per reel; Level 2 carries two on reel 2, and Level 3 carries two on each, widening the Prize Symbols trigger.
The RTP moves with it: 94.07% at Level 1, 94.11% at Level 2 and 94.17% at Level 3. Every step up the ladder pays back a little more, which is not the usual direction for bet escalators.
FeatureBuy Selector
The FeatureBuy Selector skips the wait and drops you straight into the bonus. The option you choose fixes the highlighted positions on reels 1 and 2, the number of ways and how many spins you start with, and everything is played at the bet multiplier active when you confirmed the purchase.
The buy options carry their own returns: 94.22% at Level 1, 94.30% at Level 2 and 94.46% at Level 3. That top figure is the game’s best number, and it sits only on the most expensive buy.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.5/10
Playing Grizzly Chase feels less like spinning and more like packing for a trip into that valley: you choose the size of your rig before you set off, and the trail you picked is the one you walk. The one reason to pick it is that freedom. Most ways games hand you a fixed shape and one price; this one asks what you want and charges accordingly.
Its strength is the bonus round, and specifically that the multipliers reroll every single spin, so a round never settles into a rhythm and two BONUS symbols are enough to keep it alive. Its weakness is the price of admission: 94.46% is the best return on offer anywhere in the game, and that’s not a number that competes. The bigger sin is that the cheapest setting is also the worst one.
This is a slot for players who enjoy the configuring as much as the spinning, and who’ll happily take a thinner return for a round with more moving parts. Players who want the standard numbers and a fixed game will find it mean. Set up camp at Level 3 and the valley rewards the effort.
