Hades’ Domain

Hades’ Domain Slot Review

Down on the banks of the Styx, a horned silhouette watches the reels with arms folded and eyes glowing yellow, while a wooden boat drifts through the mist below. Hades’ Domain is a game where the paytable is the least important number on the screen: the symbol values are deliberately small, because nearly everything this game actually pays routes through one multiplier tier or another. Strip the Soul Multipliers out and you’re left with a scatter-pays grid that barely clears lunch money. With them, a single tumble sequence can be worth fifty times what the symbols alone suggest.

Backseat Gaming have built this one around a 6×5 grid with scatter pays, where eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the board award a win. RTP is 96.01%, holding steady across every bonus buy and boost mode on offer. The maximum win is 15,000x the bet. It shares its scatter-pays bones with the studio’s Fireborn and Infernus, alongside Halls of Odin.

Base Game & Features

Wins need at least eight matching symbols anywhere on the 6×5 board, so there are no paylines to follow and no left-to-right requirement. Hit a win and the Tumble Win mechanic takes over: winning symbols are removed, new ones drop in, and any further wins are added to a running total above the grid. The full Tumble Win amount is paid out at the end of the spin.

That running total matters more here than in most tumbling games, because it’s the thing the Soul Multipliers act on. A tumble sequence that builds several small wins, then ends with a multiplier on the board, applies that multiplier to everything the sequence collected, not just the final step. Tumbles and multipliers feed each other, and every mode in the game is a different way of weighting that relationship.

Soul Multiplier Symbols

Soul Multiplier symbols can land in all game modes. When a tumble sequence ends, each Soul Multiplier on the board applies its value to the total, and where several are present their values are summed before being applied. They come in five tiers:

• Tier 1: 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x
• Tier 2: 10x, 15x or 20x
• Tier 3: 25x or 50x
• Tier 4: 100x or 150x
• Tier 5: 250x

A 250x multiplier applied to a full tumble sequence is where the game’s real potential sits, and the bonus modes are built entirely around making those high tiers more likely. In the base game they arrive on their own schedule.

Bonus Symbols

Bonus symbols can land in the base game, in Bonus Boost mode and during the bonus games, with only one able to land per reel. Land three in the same spin and the free spins start. During the round they become collectable currency, feeding the progression ladder described below.

Symbol Values

Pays are multiples of stake for the number of matching symbols landed. The five shape symbols are the low set, and they pay:

• Pentagon (blue), Triangle (green), Diamond (purple), Octagon (gold), Heart (red): 0.1x for eight symbols, 0.2x at nine, 0.5x at ten, 1x at eleven, 2.5x at twelve, 5x at thirteen, 15x at fourteen and 50x for fifteen

The artefacts step up from there, with two mid-tier symbols, a single high payer and one at the top:

• Winged Boot (teal), Purple Helmet: 0.5x for eight, 1x at nine, 1.5x at ten, 2x at eleven, 5x at twelve, 10x at thirteen, 30x at fourteen and 100x for fifteen
• Red Cup: 1x for eight, 1.5x at nine, 2x at ten, 3x at eleven, 7.5x at twelve, 15x at thirteen, 50x at fourteen and 200x for fifteen
• Dog Head (purple and red mask): 1.5x for eight, 2x at nine, 2.5x at ten, 4.5x at eleven, 10x at twelve, 20x at thirteen, 75x at fourteen and 300x for fifteen

With 30 positions on the grid and tumbles clearing clusters, fifteen-of-a-kind is a realistic ceiling rather than a theoretical one. Even so, the low tiers pay modestly, and the shapes-and-artefacts symbol set does without a wild entirely.

Hades’ Domain Free Spins & Bonus Features

There are three bonus games, all awarding 10 free spins and distinguished by the Soul Multiplier floor they start on. The gap between them is wide, and the collection ladder on top of that carries a round from wherever it began to the top tier.

Normal, Super and Legendary Bonuses

Three Bonus symbols in one spin award the Normal Bonus: 10 free spins with an increased chance of landing Soul Multiplier symbols. Four Bonus symbols award the Super Bonus, which starts with a minimum 10x multiplier on Soul Multiplier symbols. Five award the Legendary Bonus, starting at a minimum 25x.

The Progression Ladder

Inside any bonus game, collecting three Bonus symbols levels the round up. Each level awards extra free spins and raises the guaranteed Soul Multiplier tier:

• Level 1: 1 extra spin, Soul Multipliers minimum 10x
• Level 2: 2 extra spins, Soul Multipliers minimum 25x
• Level 3: 3 extra spins, Soul Multipliers minimum 100x
• Level 4: Soul Multipliers minimum 250x

A Normal Bonus that climbs the ladder can end up playing at a higher multiplier floor than a Super Bonus that never collects, so the entry point sets the starting position rather than the ceiling. The ladder is the game’s spine.

Bonus Buys

Bonus Boost, the two Special Spin modes and four instant bonus buys are all available from the cart, every one running at the same 96.01% RTP:

• Bonus Boost: 2x bet per spin
• Special Spin 1: 50x
• Special Spin 2: 250x
• Instant Normal Bonus: 100x
• Instant Super Bonus: 250x
• Instant Legendary Bonus: 500x
• Instant Mystery Bonus: 185x

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 7.6/10

Playing Hades’ Domain is mostly waiting. The base game clears its small scatter wins, the meter ticks, and the demon with the folded arms watches you do it – the reason you’d pick this one over a dozen other scatter-pays games is that its bonus rounds genuinely transform rather than just repeat. A round that climbs the ladder twice finishes as a different, much richer game than the one it started.

That ladder is the best thing here: every three Bonus symbols collected does real, visible work, and summed multipliers can make one late tumble pay for the whole session. The weakest link is the Normal Bonus itself – ten spins with nothing guaranteed, in a game whose whole design says the guarantee is the point.

It’s for players who enjoy earning the big moments spin by spin rather than having them handed over. Anyone after a base game that pays its way between bonuses will find the wait long, and the underworld doesn’t do refunds.
