Jester’s Coin Tricks Slot Review
Plenty of hold-and-win games save every good idea for the bonus and leave the base game as a placeholder. Jester’s Coin Tricks does the opposite: its sharpest moment comes before any bonus starts, when a Wild lands half off the reels and nudges itself into an ever bigger multiplier. Mascot Gaming have set all of this in a warm, cartoonish market square, against a coin ceiling of 12,000x the bet.
It runs on a 5×3 grid with 10 fixed paylines paying both ways from the outermost reels, at 95.49% RTP, or 95.58% when you use the Risk’n’Buy options. It shares studio shelf space with Fly High: Arabian Nights and Milk and Luck. Whether the old jester still has tricks worth watching is the question.
Base Game & Features
Ten fixed paylines run across the five reels, and they pay in both directions, starting from the outermost reels. Only the highest win per line counts, and a five-symbol combination is paid once, not once from each end. Wins scale with the selected bet.
The premium symbols pull their weight from the top: Juggling Pins lead the paytable, with Drum, Mask and three fruits filling out the ladder. All values below are multiples of the total bet.
- Juggling Pins – 5x for three, 35x for four, 500x for five
- Drum – 2.5x for three, 15x for four, 200x for five
- Mask – 1.5x for three, 9x for four, 100x for five
- Plum – 1x for three, 5x for four, 50x for five
- Cherries – 0.5x for three, 2x for four, 25x for five
- Orange – 0.3x for three, 1.2x for four, 15x for five
- Lemon – 0.2x for three, 0.8x for four, 10x for five
The Wild appears on reels two, three and four only, and substitutes for everything except Coin symbols. It starts at a multiplier of x1 and applies that multiplier to any win it helps form. The interesting part is what happens when it lands half-visible.
Nudge Feature
When a Wild stops only partially in view, the reel shifts automatically until the full Wild is showing. Every position the reel moves adds +1 to the Wild’s starting multiplier. So a Wild that needs two nudges enters play at x3, and the final multiplier showing after all nudges is the one applied to the win.
It’s a small mechanic with real consequences. A nudged Wild sitting on a payline with a five-of-a-kind Juggling Pins win turns 500x into something considerably larger. The middle reels are exactly where both-directions paylines do their work.
Coin Symbols
Coins don’t pay on paylines. They carry their own cash values instead, and those values vary from coin to coin, running from small change to amounts worth several times the stake. When a Coin Value symbol lands together with a Collect symbol, the total value of all Coins on the screen is added to the win.
If a Jackpot symbol lands with a Collect, that Jackpot prize is added immediately. And six or more Coins anywhere on the grid is what starts the Hold and Win Bonus.
Jester’s Coin Tricks Bonus Features
Hold and Win Bonus with Jackpot Feature
The triggering Coins lock in place and the round opens with three respins. During the Bonus, only the empty positions spin. Each time at least one new Coin lands, the existing Coins stay locked and the respin counter resets to three.
The round runs until the respins run out or every position on the screen is filled with Coins. Three symbol types appear during it:
- Coin Value symbols – carry a fixed prize, added to the total Bonus win at the end
- Collect symbols – sweep up the values of all Coin Value symbols currently on screen
- Jackpot symbols – award the Mini or Major Jackpot, added at the end of the Bonus
Fill every position with Coins and the Grand Jackpot is awarded automatically. That full-screen fill is the only route to the top prize; Mini and Major arrive through Jackpot symbols instead. The total Bonus win is the sum of everything on screen, including wins from the triggering spin.
The Jackpot Ladder
Three jackpots sit in the side panel throughout play, and they scale with the bet. At a 0.50 stake they read:
- Mini – 250.00
- Major – 750.00
- Grand – 5,000.00
Risk’n’Buy Feature
After a winning spin, or from the menu, the Risk’n’Buy feature offers two ways to modify the game. The first buys the Hold and Win Bonus outright, starting it with six locked Coin symbols already on screen. A purchased Bonus always plays at the bet active when you buy it.
The Risk Wheel is the second: wager your current win for a spin of a wheel holding multiplier sectors, losing sectors and special sectors that advance you further in, with a top prize of up to x1000 on the win you stake. There’s no published price for the buy option, so it’s a matter of weighing the stake against the six-Coin head start.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
This is a game about waiting for one round, and the wait is nicer than most: the market square is genuinely lovely, and a crooked Wild can liven up any spin on the way. The reason to pick it is that jackpot ladder, always visible, always ticking with the bet.
The Nudge Wild is the best idea here, because it makes the reels worth watching even when nothing is landing. The cost is focus: with everything funnelling into a single Hold and Win round, the base game leans on small line wins for long stretches, and it can feel thin.
Coin collectors and jackpot-ladder fans get a handsome, well-built version of exactly what they like. Anyone who wants layered bonus rounds or constant feature variety should look elsewhere; this jester performs one act, and performs it well.
