Little Bighorn Slot Review 2024

It’s been another great year so far for Nolimit City with their innovative instalments to date, and to join the ranks comes their latest slot, Little Bighorn.

Little Bighorn looks to be another thought provoking slot with its historical reference to the Battle of Little Bighorn, which took place in 1876 in the United States.

The battle was fought on the 25th June 1876 in Montana, and the key participants were Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer and the Lakota Sioux and Cheyenne warriors. The battle came to be known as Custer’s last stand because of errors on his part that led to the downfall of his side, and the victory of the Native Americans.

It was significant in the way that it highlighted the height of Native American Power during the 19th century, and now all of us get to learn about it through Nolimit City’s storytelling capabilities.

Without further ado, let’s have a look at Little Bighorn in all its glory.

Little Bighorn – The Base Game and Features

Little Bighorn is a 5 reel slot with a 3-4-5-3-2 configuration as default and 360 win ways, and to form a win you need to connect at least 3 of any symbols from left to right on adjacent reels.

As expected, Little Bighorn is crammed full of interesting features, and this time we’ve got a new one to try with their xMount Scalp Wild

Little Big Horn Base Game

Scalp Bet

The Scalp Bet is renamed aptly for this game but it’s not an entirely new feature.

In fact, we’ve seen it in a fair few Nolimit City titles recently. Activating this will increase your bet by 50% and give a guaranteed Totem Scatter Symbol on reel 2.

xMount: Scalp Wild

The Scalp Wild can only land on the 5 symbol high reel.

When a Scalp Wild lands, all American Soldiers are turned into Wild Symbols. The Scalp Wild then nudges to expand over the entire reel. For each nudge, the American Soliders’ heads would be scalped, giving +1 multiplier to the Wild Symbosl. Ouch.

The Multiplier Value reflects the symbol count on that reel.

Little Big Horn Totem Wild

Totem Wild

Totem Scatters may land only on reels 2, 3 or 4 in the base game and Scalp Free Spins. During Spirit Call Free Spins, the Totem Scatters only land on reels 3, 4 and 5.

If you land one or two Totem Scatters in the Base Game then they are converted into expanding Wilds.

During Free Spins, Totem Scatters will become an Expanding Wild and award +1 Spin.

Landing 3 of these symbols will trigger Scalp Free Spins

Spirit Call Respin

The No Mercy Scatter can land on the 5th reel, and a Spirit Call Respin is triggered in the Base Game when it lands fully in view.

Once this happens, it’ll move over to the first reel before a respin begins. The Scatter will then reveal one of the Wild Chieftains.

  • Sitting Bull: Turns his symbols into expanding Wilds
  • Crazy Horse: Turns his symbols into normal wilds. For each Crazy Horse symbol landing on the reels, +1 multiplier is added to his symbols
  • Two Moon: Turns his symbols into normal Wilds

Scalp Free Spins

3 Totem Scatters will trigger 8 Scalp Free Spins.

In this mode, the Scalp Wild will increase the sticky win multiplier by 1 for each scalped symbol. These symbols retain their multiplier for the remainder of Free Spins

If a Totem Scatter lands, then it’ll convert itself into an Expanding Wild and award +1 spin.

The bonus can be upgraded to the higher tier bonus by by landing a No Mercy Scatter on reel 5. This activates Spirit Call Free Spins and awards +2 Spins.

Spirit Call Free Spins

Spirit Call Free Spins is the super bonus round for Little Bighorn.

This mode is similar to Scalp Free Spins, but the No Mercy Scatter will stick on the first reel.

On every spin, it will transform into one of the Wild Chieftans.

Here’s a reminder on what actions they perform:

  • Sitting Bull: Turns his symbols into expanding Wilds
  • Crazy Horse: Turns his symbols into normal wilds. For each Crazy Horse symbol landing on the reels, +1 multiplier is added to his symbols
  • Two Moon: Turns his symbols into normal Wilds

Little Bighorn – Our Verdict

We love the audacity of Nolimit City, and we’re never sure where their ideas will take us next.

Their games are often shrouded in controversy as far as some are concerned, but then again, anything could be considered controversial these days.

We’re truly living in a woke age where mere words land you in hot water, and historical events are dredged up for the masses to protest years after the fact.

We had an inkling, but we googled it anyway and as expected, controversy and protest surrounds the Custer monument in Ohio because of his participation in war against Native Americans.

Nolimit City are of the opinion that ‘Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’, as they said themselves when Rember Gulag released.

It’s a true learning experience when you play a Nolimit City slot, and it’s more thought-provoking than anything anyone else has created.

We could waffle on for ages about the politicised state of the world, but let’s summarise Little Bighorn.

It’s not quite as volatile as some other Nolimit City slots with a maximum win cap of 25,676x, but it’s still no small figure. The features here are diverse and they’re interesting with Chieftan Features, Totem Wilds and Scalp Wilds, and the differences between the 2 free spin mode makes for an exciting varied experience.

We’re not of the opinion that Little Bighorn is a smash hit from Nolimit City; they’ve certainly done better. However, Little Bighorn has that unmistakeable stamp of innovation, fun and quality that only Nolimit City slots can provide.
