Lost Island

Lost Island Slot Review

A smoking volcano hangs over a crumbling stone frame, and everything below the waterline is deep saturated blue. Lost Island looks like a cartoon, but it hides a sharper paytable than the style admits: because the top symbols pay in pairs, the biggest prizes are twice as reachable as they’d be on a solo-symbol ladder. That detail does more work here than any of the bonus dressing.

Eyecon have kept everything else strictly old school: a 5×3 grid, 25 fixed paylines, and a single scatter-triggered free games round that doubles every prize. It’s the same school of slot as Fluffy Favourites, running at 95.064% RTP, a shade under the modern norm. The paired paytable and the doubling round are the whole argument.

Base Game & Features

The reels are framed by those chunky grey stone blocks, with a small ragged gap knocked out of the right-hand edge, and the logo sits overhead in fat orange-to-yellow letters with a heavy drop shadow. It’s bright, hand-drawn comic-book stuff with thick black outlines and flat colour. It doesn’t try to be anything trendier.

Wins pay left to right across the 25 fixed paylines, with only the highest combination on each line counting towards a payout. The symbols are an island menagerie and its treasure, and the top of the ladder is steep.

Prizes are multiples of the line stake:

• Parrot / Monkey – 4x for two, 50x for three, 300x for four, 1,900x for five
• Tiger – 4x for two, 40x for three, 200x for four, 900x for five
• Butterfly / Snake – 4x for two, 20x for three, 150x for four, 500x for five
• Statue (grey totem) / Stone Totem – 20x for three, 50x for four, 250x for five
• Gold Nuggets / Gold Idol – 10x for three, 40x for four, 200x for five
• Orchid / Palm Trees – 10x for three, 30x for four, 200x for five

The ladder is paired, not tiered: two symbols share each of the top three steps, so a five-of-a-kind of either Parrot or Monkey pays the same 1,900x. There are no card-suit royals at the bottom, which is unusual for this style of slot. Every symbol on the reels is part of the island’s world, from the Monkey down to the Orchid.

The pairing does one quiet thing to the maths. Because Parrot and Monkey pay identically, and Butterfly and Snake likewise, there are effectively twice as many ways to hit the top three steps as a solo-symbol ladder would give. That’s the upside of a six-row paytable carrying twelve symbols.

Two-of-a-kind wins exist only on the top three steps, and they’re small: 4x the line stake. The lower three tiers don’t begin paying until three of a kind. That’s a fairly typical shape for a 25-line game, and it keeps the small wins genuinely small.

The Volcano is the wild, standing in for every symbol except the scattered Mask, and any line win it appears in pays double. The Mask needs no line at all.

Scatter Wins

Scattered Masks pay in any position, on any of the 25 lines or none of them. For each scatter, only the highest scatter win is added to the line wins, and scatter wins are multiplied by the total wager rather than the line stake.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. A line win on the Parrot is measured against a single line’s stake, while a scatter win is measured against all 25 lines’ worth of wager. The same multiple is therefore worth considerably more as a scatter than as a line win.

All 25 paylines run on fixed patterns across the three rows, and the paylines chart shows every one of them, lines 1 through 25. There’s no ways-to-win mechanic here. What you see is what spins.

Lost Island Bonus Features & Free Spins

The free games round is the one bonus feature in Lost Island, and everything about it is built to be read at a glance:

• Trigger – three or more scattered Mask symbols anywhere on the reels
• Award – 15 free games
• Modifier – all prizes doubled for the duration of the round
• Wager – the same paylines and wager as the triggering spin
• Retrigger – available up to a maximum of 15 times

There’s no pick screen, no wheel, no choice of volatility. The round is simply the base game with every prize doubled, and that plainness is deliberate – it’s the format Eyecon have built their catalogue on for two decades.

The round runs on the triggering spin’s paylines and wager, so there’s nothing to reconfigure mid-session and no way to change stakes until it finishes. Spins tick through automatically in the same familiar rhythm. When Masks land again during the round, the retrigger adds another 15 games to the count.

Retriggers are the round’s real engine. Free games can be retriggered up to a maximum of 15 times, and with all prizes doubled throughout, a long chain of Masks can stack into something considerably better than the base game ever pays on its own.

It’s a doubling round rather than a multiplier ladder, so the ceiling is set by the paytable rather than by any progressive mechanic. Five Parrots at 1,900x is the peak of what a single line can pay, and the round’s doubling is the only thing lifting it. Everything below that scales down from there.

The wild matters more during the round than outside it, too. A Volcano standing in for a Parrot on a paying line doubles that prize, and the free games doubling sits on top, so a wild-assisted top line during free games is the best single result the game can produce.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 6.9/10

Playing Lost Island is a patient sit on the beach. You spin, the island grins back, and you wait for Masks – that doubling round is the one reason to be here, and when it chains retriggers it pays like a game with far more going on.

The best thing about it is that paired paytable, which quietly doubles your routes to the big money. The worst is the stretch between rounds: outside the wild and the scatter there’s nothing to do but watch the volcano smoke, and the maths won’t rescue a dull stretch.

This one’s for players who like their slots straightforward and nostalgic, the Fluffy Favourites crowd. If you want modern mechanics and things to configure, the tide will carry you elsewhere. Everyone else can happily camp here a while.
