Ministry of Like Slot Review
A colossal concrete thumbs-up looms over the reels like a brutalist ministry building, barbed wire strung across a hazy beige sky, and below it a silhouetted crowd holds up glowing pink screens the way an older propaganda poster held up torches. That’s the world Ministry of Like builds, and it commits to it fully.
What’s arguable about the game is where it keeps its money. The paytable tops out at 5x for five of a kind, so the wins worth having don’t come from the symbols at all: they come from the numbers that build above the reels while a winning chain keeps running. From EXCO, on a 5×4 grid at 96.14% RTP, it’s a slot that saves its rewards for patient chains rather than handing them out on the drop.
Base Game & Features
The main grid sits beneath a separate top row, and the two don’t behave the same way. Regular paying symbols and Wilds land in the top row too, but when a top-row symbol is part of a win, the remaining symbols there cascade from right to left and new ones appear from the right. The main grid drops downwards instead. It’s a small asymmetry that matters more than it first looks.
Every win triggers a cascade, and each one works the same way:
- All winning symbols disappear Remaining symbols drop down in the main grid Top-row symbols slide left to fill their row New symbols fill every gap The cascade repeats for as long as new wins appear
So a single spin can turn into a chain of several, with the multipliers climbing each time a top-row cell clears and refills.
Two random modifiers can also fire in the base game: the Like Injection and the Ministry Feature. Each works on its own terms, and neither can arrive in the same drop as the other, so there’s never a question of which one is doing what.
Doubling Multipliers
The top row carries the game’s engine. A top-row cell may start with an entry multiplier, and when a top-row symbol is removed, its multiplier stays in that position and adds itself to the multiplier of whatever slides or refills into it next.
When a top-row cell forms part of a winning combination, its multiplier doubles. That applies to regular paying symbols and to substituting Wilds alike. Multipliers persist through the cascades of a base-game round, so a long cascade chain can leave some very large numbers sitting above the reels by the time it burns out.
The Wild substitutes for paying symbols and picks up the doubling-multiplier treatment in the top row like anything else. That’s the whole of its job, and it’s enough.
The Paytable
Six symbol tiers pay as a multiple of stake, for three, four and five of a kind:
- Woman with headscarf (red): 1x, 2.5x, 5x Man in hoodie (blue): 1x, 2x, 3x Man with phone / Woman with phone (orange): 0.7x, 1x, 1.5x Man with glasses (purple / green): 0.5x, 0.7x, 1x A, K, Q: 0.2x, 0.3x, 0.6x J, 10, 9: 0.1x, 0.2x, 0.5x
It’s a compressed ladder. The top symbol pays 5x for five of a kind, the bottom royals pay 0.5x, and there’s no long tail of premium tiers between them. The multipliers are doing the heavy lifting on win size, not the symbols themselves.
Like Injection
Like Injection triggers at random and awards a cash win. The Like may expand, doubling the amount of Likes with each expansion step, and each resulting Like pays out at the end. It’s quick, it’s cash, and it doesn’t interact with the cascade chain: when it arrives mid-cascade it resolves on its own terms rather than feeding the multipliers above the reels.
Ministry Feature
The Ministry Feature is the second random modifier, and it works on the grid rather than paying cash directly. It either expands an existing win or creates a win first and then expands that, so a dead board can still become a paying one.
Each expansion step doubles the number of symbols in each cell, up to a maximum of eight. If an expansion crosses another win, that cell turns wild. The Ministry Feature and Like Injection can’t activate in the same drop, so they never stack on top of each other.
Ministry of Like Free Spins & Hacks
Free Spins
The bonus round is triggered by Bonus Symbols, and the more you land, the bigger the starting package:
- Three Bonus Symbols award 5 Free Spins Four Bonus Symbols are worth 7 Free Spins Landing all five Bonus Symbols starts the round with 9 Free Spins
Inside the feature, a Like injection or a Ministry feature is guaranteed on every single spin. That’s the difference between the bonus round and the base game in one sentence: no spin is ever dead, because something fires every time the reels stop.
The top row multipliers also persist across the whole feature rather than resetting per spin, so the numbers above the reels only ever climb. Retriggers are live as well, and they step with the count landed:
- Three Bonus Symbols add 3 extra spins Four Bonus Symbols add 4 extra spins Five Bonus Symbols add 5 extra spins
Hacks
Hacks are the buy-in route, marked by the pink icon on the left of the base-game frame. Paying the price triggers a bonus instantly, and the tier you buy determines what comes with it.
The Super Hack is the most valuable hack in the set: it gives three guaranteed Ministry features or Like injections. Free Spins themselves can also upgrade to a higher tier of Hack or Super Hack once the round is running. One structural note on top of that: there’s no maximum win figure published for this game anywhere, so anyone sizing up the buy against a ceiling is working blind.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
This is a game you play for the build, not the hits. Time in the base game is spent waiting for the crowd’s approval: small wins, quiet reels, then a cascade that finally sticks and the numbers above the top row start doubling. That waiting is the whole reason to pick it, because no other part of the game pays like a compounding top row does.
The bonus round is where it’s most honest with you. Something fires on every spin, the multipliers never reset, and the round genuinely earns its build rather than borrowing it from a random jackpot. The base game is the letdown: with the best symbol paying 5x flat, nothing much happens between features, and the dystopia is left doing a lot of the entertaining on its own.
It suits patient players who like watching an engine gather speed and don’t need a win every minute. Anyone chasing frequent, chunky base-game returns will find the Ministry a hard audience to please.
