Established in 2025, EXCO Game Studio, or simply EXCO, is an independent games studio that creates entirely original slot games – something that’s somewhat of a unicorn in the slots industry nowadays. It was founded by Fredrik Elmqvist, who is known for being the Founder and CEO of Yggdrasil Gaming.
Rather than relying on licensed mechanics or copy-pasted ideas, EXCO’s games run on GAMEX, the studio’s proprietary mechanic system, with each game built from scratch. Some of their in-house mechanics include the likes of Wrapper Stacks, Power Bar, Power Field, and Doubling Dial, making them stand out in terms of innovation and creativity. They also have EXCO HACKS, which is essentially their version of a bonus buy, allowing players to buy directly into bonus features.
