Money Train Origins Dream Drop Slot Review 2024
Relax Gaming is taking their beloved Money Train series back to the beginning, in Money Train Origins Dream Drop!
Chuck on your cowboy and cowgirl attire, we’re heading back to the good ol’ days, back to the birthplace of Relax Gaming’s Money Train series, to recreate the original Money Train title with an exciting twist in the form of Jackpots.
On their travels, the gang made some new friends known as The Healer and The Banker. The Healer has the ability to revive up to 3 Collector or Payer symbols during the Bonus round, and The Banker is able to add its own value to existing symbols and new symbols that appear afterward.
With the new members of the gang came Relax Gaming’s legendary Dream Drop Jackpot Bonus, where up to 5 Jackpot Prizes are waiting to be won. Pick from 20 DD symbols for your chance to walk away with the Mega Jackpot Prize!
If that fails, why not fill your boots with Money Train Origins’ max win cap of 10,000x? This can be awarded during the Bonus round by filling the entire reel set with symbols.
Relax Gaming show no signs of slowing down the Money Train series, but will this one be the best of the bunch? Let’s play on and find out!
Money Train Origins Base Game and Features
Money Train Origins Dream Drop is a 5-reel slot with 40 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 94.00% and a max win cap of 10,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Character with the Red background, followed by the Characters with Brown, Green, and Blue Backgrounds. Low-paying symbols fall to Spades, Hearts, Clubs, and Diamonds. Wilds substitute for all High and Low-paying symbols.
Dream Drop Bonus
Triggering the Dream Drop Bonus is done so by landing 20 Dream Drop symbols during a Jackpot Spin before any regular spin. It’s here you will be able to take advantage of up to 5 Jackpot Prizes known as Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Major, and Mega.
During the Dream Drop Bonus, you will be presented with 20 DD symbols that you can pick from. Continue picking out of the 20 DD symbols until you reveal 3 of the same Jackpot Prizes.
Once 3 of the same Jackpot Prizes have been revealed, you will be instantly awarded that prize and the Dream Drop Bonus will end.
Money Train Origins Bonus
Landing 3 or more Scatters across the reels triggers the Money Train Origins Bonus round, awarding 3 Respins.
The Persistent (Gold) symbols can substitute for Scatters when triggering the Money Cart Bonus round. If a Persistent symbol is used to trigger the Bonus round, this will reveal its action before the first Respin.
At the start of the Bonus round, the triggering Scatters will reveal a random value between x1 and x10 which is displayed as a Multiplier per your bet. Also in play during this round is 6 special Modifier symbols, as follows.
- Collector – Collects all Values in view across the reel set and adds them to its own value.
- Payer – Reveals a random Value and adds it to all other symbols in view across the reels.
- Banker – Reveals a random Value and adds it to all other symbols in view, and any new symbols that land in the Respins after it appeared.
- Healer – Revives between 1 and 3 existing Collector or Payer symbols, awarding them between 2 and 7 Lives. The lives represent how many Respins they will remain active for.
- Persistent Collector – Collects all Values across the reel set and adds them to its own value at the end of each Respin.
- Persistent Payer – Reveals a random Value and adds it to all other symbols across the reel set at the end of each Respin.
Each time a row is filled with symbols (excluding the Healer), an additional Reel will open up and come into play, up to a maximum of 2 times during the entire Bonus round.
Filling all 28 reel positions with symbols (excluding the Healer) will award the max win cap of 10,000x and the Bonus round will end.
Money Train Origins: Our Verdict
Money Train Origins stands out as an exemplary piece of work from Relax Gaming yet again.
We weren’t sure that we’d ever be glad to see a classic western again considering how many there are, but it’s nice to see Money Train back where it began. Unlike Money Train 3, there’s nothing high-tech or niche about Money Train Origins, yet it holds its own as another to carry the name proudly despite the technological regression.
Perhaps most of all, it’s another great example of why Dream Drop is the best jackpot mechanic out there. Creating an entirely new game to complement the Dream Drop inclusion is a fine example of Relax’s dedication to both game and jackpots and as expected, the two work together beautifully.
The potential of the game itself is modest in comparison to others in the Money Train series, but you can’t argue with 10,000x plus the possibility of life-changing jackpots.
Other little touches stand out nicely as well, like the new cast and crew of Money Train Origins…in name anyway, the healer is basically a necromancer
Overall, we found ourselves besotted with Money Train Origins and we dare say it’s as viable an option as any other Money Train out there.
