Mummy Bomb

Mummy Bomb Slot Review

An orange sky burns over rolling dunes, a pyramid throws a long shadow across the sand, and beside the reels a small bandaged mummy with two glowing yellow eyes nurses a lit purple-capped bomb above its shoulder. Apparat Gaming has put its money in one place here, and the base game underneath the bonus round is thin enough to see through.

The gamble pays off more often than it doesn’t, because the pyramid round is a genuinely layered bit of design rather than another coin wall. The game runs on a 5×3 grid with 20 paylines, carries an RTP in the range of 84.08% to 96.10% depending on the operator-selectable version, and puts a 5,000x GRAND prize at the top of the pyramid. Apparat Gaming has built something with more going on than the wrapping suggests.

Base Game & Features

Spinning is straightforward 20-line business: matched symbols left to right across the five reels, with only the highest combination on each line counting. Wins are paid as multiples of the total bet, which keeps the arithmetic simple wherever your stake sits.

The wild does its usual job and nothing more, substituting for every regular paying symbol while standing apart from the Scatter, Coin and Bomb symbols. It can stand in for a missing Pharaoh Mask as readily as for a ten, so a four-symbol line with a wild in the gap pays the full four-of-a-kind rate.

Wilds turned up on reels three and five in the demo frames, flanking the middle of the grid rather than clustering on the edges. In one captured spin a wild completed a Q, Q combination for a small 125-credit win.

That tells you most of what you need to know about base game returns: useful, rarely dramatic. The paytable follows a familiar Egyptian hierarchy, and it’s front-loaded – the top symbol pays fifty times more for five than for three. Symbol pays, as multiples of the total bet:

• Pharaoh Mask: 1x for three, 5x for four, 50x for five
• Blue Cat (Bastet): 0.5x, 3.5x, 25x
• Scarab Beetle: 0.5x, 2.5x, 10x
• Eye of Horus: 0.5x, 1.75x, 7.5x
• Ankh: 0.5x, 1x, 5x
• Crook and Flail: 0.5x, 1x, 5x
• Purple Flower Amulet: 0.5x, 1x, 5x
• Gold Symbol (Ring/Buckle): 0.5x, 1x, 5x
• Royals (A, K, Q, J, 10): 0.25x, 0.5x, 2.5x each

Four mid-tier symbols share identical values, which means the only real distinction between an Ankh and a Gold Symbol is what it looks like. Below them the five royals all pay the same modest ladder, and even a full line of Aces returns just 2.5x the stake.

Scatters pay nothing on their own here. Their entire job is to open the door to the feature round, which is where the game keeps nearly everything it has.

A single BONUS symbol can drift onto a reel on any spin; it takes three of them in one go to matter. There’s no accumulator, no partial progress and no scatter pay to soften the wait. It’s all or nothing, and the nothing is silent.

Mummy Bomb Bonus Features

Land three or more Scatter symbols in a single base game spin and the Hold & Spin Free Games begin, opening with 3 respins. Between one and three inactive Bomb symbols are placed on the corner cells of a pyramid at the start. Every cell in that pyramid exists in one of three states: open, cracked or locked.

Open cells can land Coin symbols, Bomb symbols or blanks. Coins and Bombs that land are held until the feature ends, and each respin that lands at least one new Coin or Bomb resets the counter back to three.

Any cell adjacent to a Coin or an active Bomb changes to open, which is how the pyramid grows outward from the middle as the round goes on. Growth is everything here.

The cells you unlock determine which Coins can land and whether the corner Bombs are ever reached. They start inactive and only wake up when the chain of Coins and active Bombs reaches them from the centre, so a round that never spreads far enough leaves them dormant and prizeless.

The final respin has its own restriction: open cells can land nothing but Bombs or blanks. Fill every cell and the GRAND prize of 5,000x the total bet is paid on top of all Coin winnings.

When the counter hits zero, every active Bomb explodes and each reveals a jackpot prize. That explosion is the round’s closing beat, and it’s the only way the jackpot ladder pays out at all.

Coins, Bombs and Jackpots

Each Coin carries a value paid at the end of the feature, running from 1x up to 10x the total bet in half-step and whole multiples. The full ladder of possible Coin values:

• 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x, 3.5x, 4x, 4.5x, 5x the total bet
• 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x the total bet

Bombs don’t carry values of their own. They’re delivery vehicles for the jackpot ladder, and only the ones that managed to activate pay anything at all.

When the final respin burns out, each active Bomb detonates and reveals one of four prizes:

• MINI: 15x the total bet
• MINOR: 25x the total bet
• MAJOR: 100x the total bet
• EPIC: 250x the total bet

Buy Feature

For anyone who’d rather not wait on the Scatters, a Buy Feature button sits in the interface, opening the Free Games directly for a price quoted at the point of purchase. The pyramid round is the whole reason to be here, so the shortcut is a sensible inclusion rather than an afterthought.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 7.6/10

Most of a session with Mummy Bomb is ordinary spinning in the desert, waiting for three Scatters while a cheerful mummy stands guard. The reason somebody chooses it anyway is that one pyramid round, where bombs wake, chains spread and the whole board can go up at once.

The best thing here is that the bonus is a puzzle with stakes: the corner bombs only pay if the chain reaches them, so every coin that lands is doing two jobs, banking a prize and inching the blast radius outward. The worst thing is the stretch in between. The base game pays small and offers no progress towards the trigger, so the waits can be long and uneventful.

This one’s for players who like a single elaborate feature worth building towards, and who don’t mind quiet reels while it builds. Anyone after rich base game action will find the dunes empty long before the fuse lights.

Mummy Bomb FAQs
