Munchies Slot Review
After a swathe of pretty serious games from Nolimit City, it’s time to wind down at the carnival. We lost digits in Outsourced Slash Game, joined a satanic cult in Blood & Shadow II and saved the world from alien takeover in Brute Force. We deserve some downtime, and a day at the carnival sounds like just the ticket.
What could go wrong?
Base Game & Features
Unlike a regular slot, Munchies falls into Nolimit City’s latest endeavour, Nolimit Labs. Instead of a normal reel set, Munchies displays a singular panel with the option of 1, 2, or 4 reels.
Gameplay is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is select your bet size between £.€0.20 and £.€100 per spin, followed by the number of active reels. Please be aware that activating more than 1 reel comes at an additional cost.
The reel(s) reveal one symbol per spin, which can either be a Multiplier Value or Blank. If a blank appears, the game results in a No-Win, however, when a Multiplier hits, its value is applied to your current base bet.
Depending on the number of active reels, a 10,000x, 20,000x, or 40,000x max win cap is available. Other statistics include an overall RTP of 96% and a High Volatility (8/10) rating.
Linked Reels
The reel order when played with 2 or 4 reels starts from the top leftmost position. In the event a Multiplier is higher than its subsequent reel, it will transfer its value to subsequent reels.
Nolimit Boosters
- 2 Reels: Activate 2 reels for 4x your bet
- 4 Reels: Activate 4 reels for 16x your bet
Devour Spins
Landing a Bonus symbol on any active reels will trigger Devour Spins, awarding 10 Free Spins.
In Free Spins, the highest Multiplier value that appears will lock in the above reel area and be awarded with each spin. Landing a Bonus symbol awards a further +5 Free Spins.

Our Verdict
We can confirm that a day out at the carnival was in fact, not downtime. The seemingly cuddly creature turned out to be a bloodthirsty killing machine. Still, we’re sure Nolimit City will give us a slot about tranquil rainbows with a picnic on the serene plains of green Ireland one day….maybe…probably not.
Munchies is the latest in Nolimit’s experimental series, Nolimit Labs. It’s not quite a slot, but it’s a game with aspects of one and the kind of potential that you’d expect from the makers of the most volatile games. The rules are fairly simple, spin and hope not to get a blank symbol. A multiplier may appear which awards its value to the base bet, and its Linked Wins feature helps to up the ante by transferring wins onto subsequent reels, should the player opt in for more than one reel set.
The highest cost and the most action comes from 4 reels at once, costing 16x the base bet. At this level, the maximum win is 40,000x the bet, which is much higher than many slots which boast of bells and whistles. For those in buy territory, the formidable God Mode is back, costing a hefty 2,500x the bet for a chance at hitting the max win instantaneously. The jury is still out on xGod, but some believe it to be too
We tested out Munchies fairly extensively, and we can see why it might have significant appeal to no-nonsense players. It’s experimental stuff from Nolimit City, and kudos are due for being bold enough to try out features that may not work. Their commitment to individuality and innovation is ever-present, slot or not.
