The events of Nitropolis 2 saw the gang in a fighting the long arm of the law against a do-gooder with a sole mission to clean up Nitropolis, and seemingly he did a good job, because the Dirty Dawgs, Gritty Kitties, Pug Thugs and Rogue Rats have fled south!
The Nitro Gangs aren’t quite ready to give up their life of crime yet though, after all, it’s all they know.
The dog eat dog lifestyle continues once again in the third in the Nitropolis slot series, but how will it fare? Nitropolis 2 certainly had some elements to it that didn’t quite make sense…has the annoying aspects of Nitropolis 2 been rectified this time around?

Nitropolis 3: Theme and Soundtrack
Usually we don’t pay too much attention to the soundtrack of games, unless it’s good, and as we know, Elk Studios kill it in the audio department.
Their last few releases has been absolutely rave worthy, and Nitropolis 3 is certainly no exception. The Nitro Gangs have fled south, and to keep them motivated for those ill-gotten gains is Elk’s funky soundtrack. Top notch yet again.
In terms of visuals. Nitropolis 3 is a far cry from the older games considering they’ve fled the dystopian world of Nitropolis. This time we’re at a beach, which might have been picturesque if it wasn’t for the thick fog and toxic waste barrels.
Nitropolis 3: Betting and Symbols
The lowest betting option in Nitropolis is £/0.20 per spin, and the highest option is £/50 per spin. There are lots of options in between the two, so there’s an ideal option for every kind of player.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying symbol is the Dirty Dog, followed by the Gritty Kitty, Pug Thug and the Rogue Rat. Medium paying symbols are gang crest symbols for each of those previously mentioned, and the low paying symbols are Ace, King, Queen and Jack.
There’s also a Wild symbol, which substitutes for all symbols except for the bonus, super bonus, boy ways, redrop and nitro feature symbols.
Nitropolis 3: The Base Game and Features
Nitropolis begins with 4,096 ways to win. To form a win, you’ll need to connect at least 3 symbols from left to right on adjacent reels, starting from the left-most reel.
In traditional Nitropolis style, there’s plenty of features to experience, and a fair few of them are mind-boggling to say the least.
Avalanche Feature
All symbols which are part of a win explode and leave space for new symbols to fill their place.
Nitropolis takes a leaf out of the gold series book in this regard too, because new row of symbols is added with each avalanche up to a maximum of 8 rows. Nitro reels which are party of a win also respin, and the Avalanche Feature continues as long as new winning combinations appear
Big Symbols
Wild Symbols and all low, medium and high paying symbols exist in four sizes. These sizes are standard 1×1, super 2×2, mega 3×3 and epic 4×4 symbols.
Nitro Reels
Nitro Reels is a feature that we’ve seen before, and a useful one at that.
Small Nitro Reels cover two symbol positions, but they can contain 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 1×1 payout symbols within them. Big Nitro Reels covers six symbol position, but they can contain 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 2×2 payout symbols.
Redrop Feature
During the Redrop feature, all bonus symbols an Nitro feature symbol remain in play and the Nitro Reels respin.
Both Ways
A pretty self explanatory feature but a useful one nonetheless. This feature triggers a ‘both ways’ mechanic, in which wins pay from left to right, and right to left.

The Nitro Feature mechanics serve to improve the function of the Nitro Reels, with the following features available.
Nitro Match
Nitro Reels on the same and adjacent reels as the Nitro Match symbol match with a payout symbol on an adjacent reel of the Nitro Reel.

Nitro Upgrade
The Nitro upgrade upgrades Nitro reels to contain better symbols.
Nitro Wild
All symbols on the Nitro Reels on the same and on adjacent reels as the Nitro Wild symbol will be replaced with Wild Symbols.

To trigger Free Spins in Nitropolis you’ll need at least 3 Scatter Symbols

Nitropolis 3 Slot – Our Honest Verdict
Nitropolis 3 in our opinion is a big improvement from both 1 and 2.
The answer to the frustrations that arose with Nitropolis 2 was to make Nitropolis 3 more like the Gold Series of slots than anything else. Nitropolis 3 has many of the features seen previously in other Nitropolis games, but they way that they’ve been executed together with Gold Series style gameplay makes it exactly what Nitropolis 2 should have been.
On top of all of this, Nitropolis 3 has huge win potential. In fact, it’s Elk Studio’s first slot which is capable of 50,000x, which is huge. Whether or not it’s capable of realistically doing so remains to be seen, but it’s an exciting prospect nonetheless.
Overall, Nitropolis 2 may have been a frustrating instalment, but Nitropolis 3 certainly revitalises the series.
