Nugget Ridge Slot Review
Gold doesn’t announce itself. It sits in the rock, unbothered, waiting for somebody with a pickaxe and enough patience to keep swinging at the same seam until the ridge gives something up. Nugget Ridge builds its mine around that idea: gold nuggets, mine carts, lanterns and TNT on a 5×3 grid running 15 fixed paylines. Stakes run from 0.20 to 100 a spin.
The studio behind it is Relax Gaming, who’ve set the RTP at 96.36% by default, with 94% and 92% configurations available to operators. Volatility is low to medium, rated four out of ten, and the hit frequency is 20.85%. The mining shelf isn’t short of company. Fire in the Hole 2 and Diamond Mine Megaways both work the same underground seam, and both pile on considerably more machinery than this does.
Relax have been down here before with Mega Mine Nudging Ways; this one tops out at 10,000x. You won’t find the machinery Relax pack into Money Cart 4 anywhere on these reels. Everything at surface level says traditional. What the Free Spins are doing underneath it says otherwise.
Base Game & Features
All 15 paylines are fixed and active on every spin, with no option to play fewer of them. At a hit frequency of 20.85%, a winning combination lands roughly once in every five spins.
The paytable stays underground throughout. Gold Nugget is the top premium, with mine carts, pickaxes and lanterns beneath it and the usual royals filling out the rest of the reel set.
- Gold Nugget: 125x for five, 50x for four, 10x for three
- Mine Cart: 100x for five, 37.5x for four, 7.5x for three
- Pickaxe: 75x for five, 25x for four, 6x for three
- Lantern: 50x for five, 20x for four, 5x for three
- A, K, Q and J: 20x for five, 7.5x for four, 2x for three
- Wild: 200x for five, 75x for four, 25x for three

Wild Symbols
The Wild substitutes for every symbol except the Bonus symbol and pays in its own right. It turns up in three forms.
Expanding Wild: a TNT detonator landing in the base game expands upwards, creating additional Wild symbols above it. It won’t expand in a position where doing so wouldn’t produce a win.
Colossal Wild: a single Wild that covers four normal symbol positions when it lands on the reels.
Wild Multiplier: a Wild carrying a multiplier value, up to a maximum of 5x on any one symbol position. Where several of them contribute to the same win line, their multipliers multiply against one another rather than adding together, so a 2x, a 3x and a 4x on one line resolve as 24x.

Nugget Ridge Free Spins
The Bonus symbol is the only one the Wild can’t stand in for, and it drives both of the game’s bonus routes. Two of them trigger a Re-Spin; three or more open the Free Spins.

Re-Spin
Landing two Bonus symbols in the base game converts both of them into Sticky Wilds and awards a Re-Spin. Any further Wild that lands during the Re-Spin also sticks and awards another Re-Spin, so the sequence keeps extending for as long as Wilds keep arriving.
Free Spins
Three or more Bonus symbols trigger the Free Spins. Three award seven spins, four award nine and five award 11. Landing three or more Bonus symbols during the round adds three further spins.
Bonus symbols that land during the feature aren’t paid out as they arrive. They’re stored in the position they landed in and held there for the duration of the round.
On the final spin, every stored symbol detonates and converts to a Wild carrying a multiplier equal to the number of Bonus symbols banked in that position. The 10,000x win cap applies, in practice, only to that last spin.

Bonus Buy
The Free Spins can be bought outright from the base game. There’s no ante bet and no other stake modifier alongside it.
- Buy Feature: 60x stake, RTP 97.00%
- Guarantees a minimum of three Bonus symbols on the triggering spin
- Can only be activated from the base game

Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
The base game asks for patience without punishing you for it. Wins land often enough to keep the lantern lit, and when two or three multiplier Wilds hit the same line, the arithmetic does something worth watching.
The Re-Spin earns its place rather than filling a gap. Sticking both Bonus symbols gives it a purpose of its own, and one of ours extended several times before it ran dry.
The Free Spins are the reason to be here. Watching stored symbols pile up across positions makes the last spin matter more than the ones before it, which is a rhythm few slots this traditional bother with. The 10,000x ceiling never felt close in our session, mind. The route to it is visible rather than plausible.
This one’s for players who like classic paylines and Wild-heavy maths without Megaways-scale complexity attached. Nugget Ridge keeps its best gold right at the bottom of the shaft.
