You play it for that build, and for the moment the pearls finally lock together and merge.
The bonus round is the best-judged part of the design, because the compounding is honest. Merged pearls pay double what went into them and then get multiplied by every reel they sit on, so a patient round with turtles stacked on the left reels turns modest prizes into something serious. Few rounds reward the build this directly.
The base paytable is thin, though. The wild tops out at 5x, and nothing the regular game pays comes close to the round it exists to trigger. It suits the patient, the sort happy to watch a machine wind itself up; anyone who wants the reels themselves to do the paying will find the reef prettier than it is generous.
